Believe in yourself Nick!!!!! Firstly i need to get something off my chest Omg I totally dislike Jordan, what a horrible self centred man and I hope he never finds happiness!!! Ok Nick has just been dumped by his live in boyfriend for another man. Jordan doesn't care about anyone but himself but in one way Nick is happy to be single but then the world was hit by crisis. A killer and the world goes down on shut down so Nick finds himself isolated to his flat by himself. He wanted to get back out there but now that was on hold while his ex moves in with his new younger lover. But then things start to happen A window open in the morning when he knows it was closed when he went to bed. Then the envelopes started to arrive on his desk. Full of money and notes from a secret admirer. He wonders who it could be would this be the start of something new for him or was it his ex playing tricks on him?? This is a great read and to say I was happy with the ending is a understatement. Its leaves t]you thinking and trying to work out what / who is leaving the letters. There are some very hot scenes in this book too

Okay, so I thought this actually a rather cute little read.
Nick is having a rough a few days. Alongside being dumped by his jerk-off boyfriend, he also loses his jobs in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. With his funds dwindling quickly, Nick is surprised to discover that he has a secret admirer, and said secret admirer has made it a habit to leave more than generous gifts for him. When Nick and Matthew finally meet, truths are told and they both have to decide whether it's worth it to be together, or not.
I had fun with this short. I liked Nick, though I do wish he had more of a backbone when it came to Jordan and his 'demands'. I felt Matthew's character has a lot of potential, but he sometimes gave off the impression of someone in their 20's, not someone who has centuries of life experience. The general plot was sweet and I liked Matthew's role of 'rescuer'. I think there could be some additional editing that could be done, perhaps refine some of the dialogue and flesh out some things to include more detail - I would've loved more about Matthew's background and history. Overall, a nice read - I wouldn't mind seeing what happens to the two of them next.
Thank you Voracious Readers and Karen Blair for my copy!
This was available as a free read and I thought it looked and sounded promising. Don't you be fooled by that, too. The writing style and grammar are very formal, in a way that just reads as weird to me. Then there's Nick, whose perspective is hard to follow in a plot that makes zero sense. Spoilers ahead. If you, like me, don't like cheaters and cheating as a repeated plotline, skip this story. Nick is supposed to be alone in lockdown after his awful boyfriend Jordan leaves him for another man, but Nick still manages to have several encounters with Jordan and the secret admirer, Matthew. Matthew, who is fixated on Nick and immune from the virus because he's apparently some kind of vampire? Matthew, who apparently heals Nick of the virus and a violent attack without making Nick a vampire, too, but then leaves him suddenly so Nick dates another random guy before running off to another country when Matthew calls. The life choices here are ridiculous especially when many of them are made without any coherent reason. Nick is just a mess and being dropped into his life for this story is aggravatingly pointless. Fortunately, it's a shortish read.

First off, I did enjoy the author’s writing (there were a few editing errors however). While I knew this story takes place during the current pandemic, this was mentioned WAY TOO MANY TIMES.
I HATED Jordan, there wasn’t a single redeeming quality about him. Nick deserved much better. Considering Nick was such a stickler for social distancing and wearing a mask (as well as having others around him wear one) I was thrown when Jordan and his ‘friend’ came by the apartment without masks and that EVERY sex scene in this book was bareback. That dropped the rating for me. I also wasn’t very fond of the ending. If he was there to meet his long lost sister, the meeting should have been included (just my opinion).
This is a pandemic story, so new world order is in play. Nick and Jordan connected when Nick was on good side of 18. Nick is suffering a series of losses, boyfriend/job. Jordan his boyfriend, dumps Nick for a younger man, Carl his PA. Carl is 18 and Jordan slept with him while dating Nick who accepted the cheat. A secret admirer leaves money. He comes in through the window and leaves an envelope of money and a note on the desk, signed Matthew. They eventually meet and Nick is a little wary. Then Jordan comes sniffing back thinking he can use Nick. There are a few interesting developments, twists and conflicts. Does Nick give Matthew a chance? Does Nick let Jordan back? I didn't really like Nick he didn't seem true to being a fitness instructor, bartender or writer. Nice story, I would have liked a longer story. I enjoyed reading your book there are a few errors but I managed with them. I loved the two main characters, Jordon was a drop kick but Nick and Matthew were great, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in M/M romance.
