Mossad Agent Cyrus Hassani has just returned from the United States, where he stopped a terrorist attack at Three Mile Island and rescued his wife Layla from Quds force kidnappers. While taking some much-needed downtime with his family, Cyrus is pulled in by Mossad for the biggest mission of his life.
Cyrus leads a black ops team to Beirut, an elite unit known as the Tip of the Spear, to stop a deadly nuclear EMP attack aimed at Israel while helping his friend and fellow agent Aryeh undertake a risky personal mission. But Cyrus can’t shake his fears that his wife Layla, who is pregnant, and his daughter Cerise, are in grave danger back home.
Zara Zayani is a journalist for Le Figaro based in Beirut. The French beauty is also an undercover French DGSE agent who often works with Aryeh. Their relationship is that of trusted friends and lovers. Given Zara’s contacts within Hezbollah and her ability to work with both sides, Aryeh seeks her help to negotiate a prisoner exchange in Beirut, that includes his nephew.
When Zara meets Mustafa Mughniyeh, the son of one of Hezbollah’s most deadly terrorists, the attraction between them is immediate and electric. But when she discovers Mustafa is behind the nuclear plot aimed at Israel, Zara vows she will do whatever it takes to stop him. A dedicated agent, Zara believes she can keep her attraction to the handsome and charming Mustafa from getting out of hand, but can she keep her wits about her when she finds out the dangerous terrorist has secrets that could prove her downfall?
Can the team and the beautiful French agent stop the EMP attack and prevent the death and destruction of millions of people?

The Israeli Secret Service has intel that some rogue nations have united their forces and are planning a deadly plot, which when unfolding successfully will threaten the existence of the world order. The Mossad has planned a very subtle counter-mission, however, the Israeli Secret Service is always one step behind the developments and is therefore suspecting a mole within its ranks. In any case, Cyrus Hassani isn’t discouraged by these circumstances. He was benched for quite some time but now jumps at the opportunity to actively support his country - although his wife is rather reluctant regarding her husband’ s active commitment. Soon the mission becomes very complicated and …. personal.
This is my first book by this author and most probably won’t be my last. The plot was interesting and had a lot of suspense. Many political keywords like Hezbollah, Mossad, Hermit Kingdom and Iran played their part in the plot. Although these are highly political terms, the author succeeded in using these without any political connotation, just as elements of the storyline.
Cyrus and Layla were great together. I liked that they were portrayed as a “normal” couple with “usual” problems, no matter how far from this they were! How they solved their issues showed the deep feelings and devotion they had for each other. The plot was supported by an interesting set of subcharacters.
At times I felt that the speech between the characters was a bit stiff and artificial. Not that this dismissed the reading pleasure! I even thought that this was on purpose so that the reader wouldn’t forget that the book played against an “oriental” background and the embellished speech was used to stress this.
I very much enjoyed this book and gladly recommend this.

So world of international intrigue is not my world but this was such an interesting adventure and at the end I couldn’t stop reading. Really good book.
Ransom by Belle Ami is the third book in her Tip of the Spear series, and hopefully not the last. When Cyrus Hassani is called to meet the leader of Israel’s secret intelligence agency, he knows his respite has ended. Torn between leaving his family, who are still recovering from a recent abduction, and taking the assignment, Cyrus knows he is the only one who can lead this mission. As a Mossad agent, Cyrus’s aim is to protect all of Israel’s children and to see that his country is safe from the violent group, Hezbollah. Can his team extract their agent while finding the mole that endangers all of them? One mission that has many directives, if one fails that could be the end of Israel as they know it.
As an espionage thriller, Ransom covers all the bases; passion for the mission and each other, thrilling danger, distinct travel destinations, a blend of languages, and cultural diversity. Belle Ami is an intense author that implements multiple layers of action and suspense. Each key character rules their task as they do their duty, and they work as a well-oiled machine. I personally like the French spy, Zara Zayani, best as she juggles her journalist cover and work as a double agent. One day her cover will be blown, and she questions what else is out there for her. Overall, this novel will fascinate anyone remotely interested in espionage. The action is severe, and they run the mission with precision. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone with a taste of adventure and the thrill of the chase.
Review written by Peggy Jo Wipf for Readers' Favorite.
The stakes have never been so high in this fast-paced, well written, well researched, romantic thriller by Belle Ami.
Pour a glass of wine, light the fireplace, turn off every electronic device that might interrupt you (Kindle excluded, of course), curl up in your favorite chair and take a wild ride. In RANSOM (Tip of the Spear Book 3) Mossad Agent Cyrus Hassani and journalist/agent Zara Zayani face a challenge that could literally end the world as we know it.
Tasked with heading a secret unit, Hassani reluctantly leaves his pregnant wife Layla and his daughter Cerise for his next mission in Beirut. Here, the covert Tip of the Spear Team – specializing in assassinations, and extractions, is ostensibly charged with bringing down an agent – turned traitor – named Aryah. The double agent absconded with a fortune – the question is why?
Zara, who was Aryah’s intel contact and sometimes lover, becomes entangled with the lead actor in the terrorist plot and is torn between her mission and her feelings. Can she destroy him?
RANSOM is exactly what Belle Ami is known for – a heart-pounding, ever-twisting, story that takes the reader on a thrill ride. Tightly researched, RANSOM moves at exactly the right pace and keeps you turning the page. The characters are well-rounded “super-spy heroes”– sometimes assassins but always human beings – who make sure that love, life, and family are always uppermost in their hearts and minds. I can’t wait to see what Belle Ami has in store for us next.
"Ransom is fast-paced and deftly plotted and readers can't help but be thrilled by the depth of the characters, the strong conflict, and the drama that accompanies the skillfully developed romance. I loved the way the author navigates the political conflict between the powerful entities in the narrative and how the world of the Middle East comes alive in this story. The writing is atmospheric and the narrative cinematic. You will feel as though you have just watched a great movie when you turn the last page of this thriller.
A very fast paced international thriller right from the start. Mossad agents together with french journalist/agent Zayani are trying to stop a nefarious plot to set off an electromagnatic pulse that would change the world as we know it.

This is the third in the series and I didn’t think it could get much better than the first two but I was wrong. I could not put it down. I loved the characters and the plot had so many twists it kept me on the edge of my seat.
