As an omega in Hollywood, Tam’s had to fight for everything. Roles, respect, independence. So what if a steady relationship had to go by the wayside? Once he’s established—and he’s so close he can taste it—he’ll have time to look around for an alpha that’s willing to play second fiddle to Tam’s skyrocketing career. He’s okay with his hot mess of a social life—until the letters start coming. Creepy letters, from someone who thinks an omega has no business in Hollywood and is willing to resort to violence to get their way.
When the movie studio hired Miles to guard one of their rising stars, he wasn’t counting on the biggest threat being the one to his heart. Even though he knows they’re just faking for the cameras—and Tam’s stalker—pretending to be the star’s boyfriend feels too much like the real thing. Before he realizes it, he’s broken the first rule of bodyguarding and fallen hard for the rebellious omega with the fiercely protected heart. And now he has to find his way through the dangerous maze of Tam’s heart without sending the omega running for the hills.
Tam’s world is turned upside-down by a little blue line. He wants this child he and Miles have created and he wants Miles too, except the cost of having them could be everything Tam's ever built for himself. Can a solid future be built even on Hollywood dreams or will Tam have to spend the next eighteen years acting like he doesn’t care?

A sweet story about a feisty omega and an alpha who wouldn't have him any other way. It was a cute story with loads of pinning. I was hoping the stalker thing would last a little longer cause I love stalker drama, but this was more of a light romance deal. Miles, the alpha bodyguard, goes under cover as a boyfriend for his client Tam, an omega Hollywood star. They fall in love/lust but it's all just an act, right? Cue corny music! It was fun, though the lack of communication was kinda ridiculous. We got to see some of the Oceanport cast which was fun. And I totally hope Will gets his own book in the future.
sweet sexy and adorable.. it made me smile and happy.. i loved tam.. he was strong.. and sexy and wonderful... and miles is just relaxed and chilled.. and it was so much fun to see these two figure things out. amazing
These two guys drove me completely nuts! I Ioved them, but I wanted to take turns pummeling each of them. Angsty, poor or no communication, and procrastination!!! Tam fought so hard for everything, and it seemed he couldn't catch a break from the beginning with the stalker and onward to vile Odette! My heart ached for him and all his troubles. Tam's family- monsters- no words!! At times I wanted to shake Miles and Tam and say wake up and communicate! I really wanted to light a fire under Miles and that ring!!! He's literally killing me!!! It really irked me the way management renegotiated Tam's contact because of pregnancy. What a rip off! I despised what Odette did, and I hope Jim dumps her skeevy butt. I enjoyed the special brand of cray cray Mrs. Rosewood brings, and she delivered again. I'm hoping she's featured in their return home again!! I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this and am giving an honest review. More please!
This novel is chock full of storylines and themes - breaking stereotypes, stalker, bodyguard to boyfriend, Hollywood star/regular boyfriend, and breaking from religious family. I didn't find it hard to keep up, in fact, it almost felt like 2-3 separate books - one theme gets dealt with, then the next, then the next... There were some plot threads that seemed to be an accessory (e..g, Jim's wife's betrayal) and kind swept under the rug.
I liked the MCs. Tam, we'd briefly met him in previous Oceanport novels, was all about his career and shedding the Omega stereotype to break the glass ceiling in Hollywood. He put his career before his personal life, until he couldn't after meeting and falling for Miles. Miles is an easy-going Alpha who let's Tam be the Omega he wants and doesn't try to control him and make him mold to the typical stereotypes.
Their love story is sweet and the action from the stalker plot is not overly intense. The only ding I have for this one is how much the inner monologues, angst and lack of communication between Miles and Tam drag on in the final chapters. It was frustrating as a reader as they kept getting in their own way.
Overall the storyline was great and I loved this addition to the Oceanport universe.
Oh my God I wanted for a long time to read Tam's story since his first appearance in Oceanport. He's a quirky omega in an alpha industry and has to fight hard to accomplish the carrier he loves. Some threatening letters that escalate represents a possible end to his professional life and the need of a bodyguard sours him. It surprise him he finds understanding and support and a good friend in his bodyguard. Their relationship is on shaking ground because they both proclaim is just business between them so they hide the feelings they have from each other. An unexpected child tends to break Tam but he soon accepts that he loves him and makes all possible to have the carrier and the child. He again finds unexpected support from Miles and in the end they rekindle their spark. It's a slow burn romance where the characters are wary of their feelings that makes the moment they reconnect so much sweeter. I really loved the book and I can't wait to read the next one
I've liked all of Ann-Katrin Byrde's books set in the Oceanport universe, and this book is no exception!
To be honest, I was hesitant going into this story because the bodyguard trope isn't typically my favorite. But right from the beginning I fell in love with Tam - his passion and determination shine through in everything he does. He's a complex, high-energy character and chill, down-to-earth Miles complements him perfectly. The development of their relationship felt organic, and I loved reading about them together.
I also loved that this book didn't end with conception. The pregnancy itself was a major plot point, especially given Tam's career, and I really enjoyed seeing the couple overcome each new obstacle together.
Overall this book was sweet and a thoroughly enjoyable read!
Wen best laid plans, turn into better plans. Miles moves to CA to work in the family firm. His first client was Tam, a talented, successful Omega actor who swims uphill fighting stereotypes about an Omega's roles and place in society. Tam, had a life plan. He knew what he had to do to move his career along while keeping his values in tact. He thought he had the stalker in perspective until the stalker escalated. Miles felt a draw. he thought it was his abilities to profile. Tam felt equal with Miles. Getting to know each other is hard, soft, fun and romantic. The characters, the family are well developed. Can Miles protect Tam? Can Tam maintain his independence? Do they catch the stalker? Good story. Nice flow. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Act Like You Don't Care is part of the Hollywood Hearts series by Ann-Katrin Byrde. This is a fun bodyguard/actor lovestory with a surprise mpreg. And it's amazing- sweet, funny, a little angsty, and a bit steamy. Well written and filled with interesting characters and scenes, this book fits wonderfully into the Oceanport/Holywood Hearts universe. I love Tam and Miles, they fit wonderfully together.... a yin and a yang ... an easy going Alpha with a career driven omega. They dont get an easy road to an HEA, there is tension, complications, fears, miscommunications.... but the chemistry and the journey to love is hot, sweet and perfect. And I loved the way the pregnancy journey.
This story is about Tam and Miles. Another great book by Ann-Katrin Byrde! I loved revisiting Oceanport! Tam is an actor and Miles is his bodyguard. Miles was so sweet, I love him from the beginning. As they come together to keep Tam safe from a stalker, they learn more about each other and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The stalker was not who I thought it would be and I hate Tam’s dad, but overall the storyline was great! I highly recommend this and all the accompanying stories from The OceanPort universe!
This is a great second installment to the highly enjoyable Hollywood Hearts series. Miles and Tam were amazing characters (and I expected nothing less from this author) and I loved their story, the bodyguard trope is one of my favorites. All in all another wonderful addition to my Ann-Katrin Byrde collection.
Wow loved this book. As book two in the series I was excited to read it and was not disappointed. The storyline was amazing full of adventure that made this pairing perfect. Tam is a amazing character and Miles is sweet. Loved there ending and there amazing and cute family. Can’t wait for more.
Now I do love Tam and Miles but I also wanted to shake them a few times. I love that Tam is such a career driven Omega and I think the Miles that is the perfect Alpha for him. I really enjoyed read this book and I just love that Ann-Katrin Byrde has pull me right into their story. I was so invested that I just had to see how these work out their relationship.
Tam an omega who puts his career before his personal life, then a stalker comes into the story. In steps bodyguard alpha Miles who is very easy going and let's Tam be who he wants to be.
This is a sweet love story with some lack of communication between the two MC's. Overall this was a wonderful story I definitely recommend this book.
I loved the first book in this series and this new addition does not disappoint in any way. Tam tries so hard no to be your typical Omega that he can't see the wonderful Alpha in front of him. The road to happiness has lots of twists and obstacles but they find their happiness in the end. Another great read to add to any collection!!! Loved it!
I kept forgetting this was part of the Oceanport universe because the world felt so different. I will say this was super long and the initial conflict was resolved halfway through the book before the story moves on to Tam's career and his sort-of relationship with Miles.
I was not in love with tams character but like all Ann’s omegaverse the omega characters are strong and independent which I liked I just did not like how he played with miles emotions.
