Florence Lapp's house has burned down, and her gun is missing. She learns that Dustin, a young man she knows, has been accused of murder and her gun has been found in his car. Small things don't add up, and Florence believes the young man is innocent. Suspecting that her young friend has been framed, she turns to her sisters, Ettie and Elsa-May, for help. Spurred on by the announcement that Florence is staying at their house until the case is solved, Ettie and Elsa-May hurry to find the truth. Dustin says that he had no knowledge of a gun and didn't know the murdered girl. Ettie begins to wonder if Florence's judgment might be swayed by the fact that many years ago she had a close association with Dustin's grandfather. How will Ettie help prove Dustin is innocent when all the evidence, including the DNA evidence, proves otherwise?

Can I get a Witness? To quote the author who quoted Isaiah: Isaiah 41:10 AMP Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. [Acts 18:10.] Ettie again helps the detective work out the case. What a quirk that a guy's twin brother is the false witness against the guy in jail.
Florence one of Ettie and Elsa May's sisters comes to get help for her friends grandson that is in jail for a murder he says he didn't do. He is a friend from a time when Florence was out of the community. Florence's house has been burned down and her gun stolen and proved to have been used in two armed robberies and murders two years before. They find out who did those. They find Dustin (the grandson ) has a twin. And they also find out he is not very nice. Very good mystery
In this an older sister Florence who before returning to the Amish was in love with a Country Singer back in the 50s After her house is burn down & the singer's grandson is charged with murder she goes to Ettie & Elsa-May for help plus staying there
Quoting the book which quotes Isaiah: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. It took some work for the truth to come out and Ettie was right in the thick of it.
Well so many people in this story really kept me guessing who did what and why. It also had some cover ups and that would make it more difficult to find the right villain. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves mystery books. They are stuff full of intriguing stories and keep you wondering who did the crime and why.
Another great installment in the series. With this one we meet Florence another sister of Ettie and Elsa Mae's. Following along as the ladies try and prove the innocence of the guilty party provides several twists. The banter between the sisters is always fun. Anyone who enjoys a well written mystery will enjoy this series and fans of Amish fiction will certainly be pleased as well. I do recommend reading the series in order.
This story really had me stomped, it gets very confusing at first,it seemed to be all mixed up at first. I have read many of these mysteries and I do say I was confused. If you like a good mystery to figure out I recommend this one.
