College quarterback Grayson Walters has a big problem. After a year of partying, he's earned a player reputation from obsessive football groupies that admire him on and off the field. Now no self-respecting girl wants anything to do with him. Desperate to clean up his act and find a girlfriend, Gray comes up with a plan. With the help of a few friends, he starts a secret group called Parties Anonymous—a meeting where no one knows anyone's real identity because the party is held in a pitch-dark room. Fate intervenes and Grayson meets the perfect girl in the dark. Red is quirky and funny, has no filter, and they bond over their mutual struggles with their nosy parents. When Red finds out who her anonymous friend is, can she get over the #BigGray craze? This book might cause uncontrollable laughter, serious blushing, and shortness of breath!!! 18+ content.
The story was good, funny too. There were a few things that bothered me though. Our author used the word sl*t much too often(30+ times) in a derogatory fashion speaking of other females. She also used wh*re that way. Females should NEVER speak about females that way. We get enough of a bashing from outside forces, we don't need it from our own. The 'groupies' is fine-ish, we all know what that means. It's just not as harsh.
This could also have stood to be proofed another time or 3. There were quite a few completely wrong words, tenses and incorrect sentence structure. It was a tad distracting.
I will read this author again. I was impressed by the telling and do look forward to future releases.
What a weird book. I didn't like the writing. It was very stiff and there were so many grammatical errors that is was distracting. It definitely needs to be edited better. It was also very repetitive. The characters would constantly explain why they did or didn't do things or how they were feeling. There was even one point in the middle of the book that I felt like the book had restarted or even that I was reading the next book. Mel gave a good summary paragraph going over pretty much what already happened in the book like I hadn't just read it. It was weird. There was also a lot of my girl, my guy/man, my boyfriend or my girlfriend. Yes, I get it you are together. Actually they started saying things like that before they even got together. Then Mel having her private parts talking to her was also very off-putting. Gray talking to his wasn't too bad but still a little borderline odd. This just wasn't a win for me unfortunately.
I am receiving multiple reviews from readers who mention grammar mistakes or certain language they might find objectionable in Big Gray. Those reviews are likely based on an earlier version of BIG GRAY.
There was an unedited file of the book uploaded by mistake on Amazon in May, and early June.
If your purchased or downloaded your eBook copy prior to June 18, 2020 please enable "Automatic updates" on your Kindle device, so you can read the latest version of the book, which is error free.
I apologize for this unfortunate error, that might had taken away from some reader's enjoyment!
This book was somewhat fun and cute. Definitely a light and fairly quick read. It has good moments in it and a few that bugged me. The one tiny thing that bugged me was when the MMC character called the FMC’s pants cute…Idk why it bugged me but it did. I started noticing that the FMC and MMC almost had the same voice. They spoke the same. If you took out the name you wouldn’t know which one was speaking or thinking. I noticed some parts lagged on and I found myself skimping through parts of the book. The ending was a little rushed but cute. Overall not bad but I’ve read better contemporary romance.
I don’t often write reviews but I loved this book so much I just want to let other people know so they can get as copy and enjoy it themselves. I love quirky, smart, sensitive characters and Mel and Gray were surely that. It was so great that they met each other in the dark so that their personal prejudices wouldn’t influence their opinion of one another. That their closeness grew over time, that they were so in sync with each other. Do yourself a favor and read this book, I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
This was kind of a slow burn for me, in fact I took a few short breaks along the way but I really enjoyed it, it was funny and the “drama” - spoiler alert - was easy to solve and important to tell because, long story short, the hero saves a drunk girl and makes sure she is safe before leaving the party. The only things that bothered me were 1. at some point they knew their real identities but didn’t want to realize it (but thanks to that they had a great friendship before they got together) and 2. their mothers’ craziness.

The start of the book was really good. However, once the two main characters (spoiler alert) Got together, I feel like the story started going downhill. The story felt rushed and the two main characters, seems like they could only call each other “my man” or “my girl”. The grammatical errors, as well as the spelling errors seemed to multiply at the last half of the book, causing the book to seem rushed and caused the story to seemingly go downhill.
This is an awesome read if you like college sports romance and love to laugh.
This is the first time I am reading this author and I was not disappointed. The characters were fun and believable. I especially like the parents. Full of laughter and romance. A definite favorite of mine! Can't wait to see what the authoring next.
Lol. I just created a word for such magnificent book. It had me laughing, and I had to continue reading to see where else it would have me laughing again. The one that have laughing the most was Red/Mel mixing up religions. That was the best. Thank you, for sharing your book and talent with me!
This book was AMAZING!! I loved it from beginning to end!! I love how Ms. Carter brought all the characters to life, allowing them to show their personalities. The book made me laugh out loud to the point of tears and having trouble breathing!! Thank you for brightening our world with your awesome characters and story!!
I made it through 54% of this book and it felt like it was just dragging on and on. I ended up skimming the rest. It was just ok. I always find it a little off putting when characters have conversations with their private parts. And then tended to happen a lot in this book. It’s just weird. And this book definitely needed another edit, so many wrong or misspelled words.
An absolutely hilarious and heart warming love story! Several times I had to quit reading to catch my breath from laughing so hard! Can't wait to read more stories by Ina!
Truly delightful. Made me laugh out loud several times.
Sadly lots of typos. Frequently, the word stripper was misspelled as striper. Lots of missing prepositions. Still enjoyed the book very much, but it was a little distracting.
The story is well written and a bit of silly fun, but it took too long for the hero to reveal his identity. However, I would recommend this story for someone in their 20s (this is New Adult) who has more patience than I do.
I laughed so hard throughout this whole book. Love the humor and the realness you brought to the dating world. Dating can be tough but when you meet the right one totally worth it.
Cute story with a valuable lesson on how social media can hurt you as well as quick wit. Makes you smile and wonder if the writer knew first hand about the hippies and their moral values.
This book was so much fun...I loved how the story unfolded...I loved the “blind date” start and how things progressed through a comedy of errors! Very likable characters...highly recommend!!
I really liked the first chapter a lot and appreciated that the author offered several different reasons for wanting to be anonymous. There were more typos and missing words/punctuation than I expect from a published version.
OMG LMAO was reading at night laughing so hard my husband was curious what was so funny We had just re watched A Fish called Wanda so enjoyed the quotes from that so much. What great way to spend a dreary winter day Cant wait to read another book by this author
Loved this book. It was a fun read that made me laugh out loud. However, there a lot of word choices that don't seem to fit with what the rest of the sentence. I finally stopped reporting them.
I really enjoyed this book. It pulls you in right away and the characters become like friends. It was fun, sexy but also sweet. There were a few places that needed better editing but it didn't detract from the overall story. I highly recommend this book!
Most hilarious thing I have read!!! The romance/sex is really mild which is nice too. A little cheesy at times but I love that Grayson is not the typical jock in any way. Seriously - if you need a pick me up read this book. I was in tears laughing for most of it.
I’m not a prude but maybe I’m too old to read this. It talked about sex, Vaginas and penises like every other sentence. Sometimes it read like a ten age boys fantasy. Part of the story was cute but it was just too much.
