Discovering a valuable painting is one thing. Finding you're in it is another.
When Holly Fleet helps Callum to clear Black Rock Manor, she unearths a century old mystery. Their investigation leads them to an abandoned graveyard, an old woman in need of help and to an artist with a terrible secret.
Framed is a Holly Fleet short mystery based on the characters in the series. The first book Black Rock Manor is available at Amazon from April 2020. It follows Holly as she returns to her home village of Little Belton to find it is threatened with demolition by a multi-national conglomerate.
"Framed" is over almost as soon as it begins. It's way too short to judge, but it is likeable and has an unusual mystery at its centre - how can Holly and her friend Callum be in the background of a century-old painting? It takes journalist Holly just 24 pages to work it out. A fast, light and somewhat old-fashioned English mystery.
Maybe I should have read the first book in the series before I read this book? It was an okay read but might have flowed a little better if I knew about the characters.
It took me a little while to figure out what the story was. A was really B, and B was really A. But, Holly was bound and determined to get to the bottom of everything.
