The author has pulled us into the lives of Maverick and Ivy and never lets go. When Ivy escapes her abusive boyfriend, the only place she can find any help is Steele and Reid Security. That help comes in the form of Maverick and they have an instant connection but he fights it every step of the way. The story keeps you turning the pages with fear, suspense, danger, action and love.

The first book in the Steele & Reid Security series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Maverick and Ivy's story of abuse, suspense, danger, a very evil man, a man that has to let the past go, and romance. I want to read more in this series. An engaging drama with great characters and an intense storyline. She’s trying to escape her horrifying reality and finds a savior in him. It was a very enjoyable story.
