He can save her life, but can he save her heart as well...

Abby Walker arrived in Severton searching for her sister. Two years later, she’s the one being hunted.
Life as a cop in a small town shouldn’t include protecting tiny blonde bartenders from big city gangs, but Alex Maynard won’t ever let the bad guys win. The quietest of the Maynard family, he refuses to let anything blur his lines.
Except Abby. He knows he’s been her crush for a while, but doing anything about it wouldn’t have felt right, not when he knows she’s keeping a secret that could destroy his career.
One hot night and a scorching kiss later, the feelings between them have definitely been shaken. Abby’s life is in danger and Alex has to make a choice - the woman he’s falling for or protecting his small town and his family that lives in it.

Contains a hot cop, small town, and some serious suspense. Shaken is part of the Severton Search and Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Alex is the quiet Maynard brother. I really appreciate the thought he puts into things. He cares about everything deeply. He is logical, steady, and oh so hot. Abby has been hiding a lot about herself in the books so far. In this book her past comes to light. Abby is much stronger and daring than I ever thought before. She is an excellent match for Alex. They can be active or still together with the same comfort, and I loved that. There is plenty of heat between the characters. Readers gain some pieces to the puzzle of mystery that surrounds Severton. The Maynard family banter is still strong and fun.
I love the descriptions of the town and the surrounding areas. I love the sense of danger and mystery and that Alex is on the right side of things. This book is written in third person from dual POV. It can be read as a standalone, however readers may have a more fulfilling reading experience by reading the series in order. There is an overlying mystery and recurring characters throughout the series.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest review after receiving an Advanced Reader Copy from the author.

We are back in the quirky and beautiful town of Severton! I have been anxiously awaiting Alex's book since the very first time we were introduced to him. There is just something about the strong, silent type that reals me in!

We have known from the past 3 books that there is something more to Abby than what she is letting on and the mystery about her has been building up to this book. We know she has a little crush on Alex and we finally get to see what happens!

Abby is followed home from work one night and she ends up on Alex's doorstep for help. After that, we get so many questions answered about what has been happening over the series and we get to see a romance bloom in the best way possible!

The alpaca's always make me giggle and I love any mention of Jake! There are a few new characters introduced and we get more of the Coven which always makes me happy! I love this series and I definitely can't wait for what is coming next ( hopefully Jake!!).

This is the story of Alex and Abby. There’s love, lust, fun, adventure and action in this book. Abby’s story is unexpected, which we finally learn, and is not as bad as I thought it would be! Ha ha ha! And Alex is super hot and knows what to do with his hot bod. He’s quite talented! And the people pf Severton and his family in general are all noisy and getting into everyone’s business as usual. I loved it!

Who knew that quiet, workaholic Abby was actually living in Severton in hopes of finding information concerning her missing sister? Alex has the suspicion that she was actually Amelia, a climber/blogger that had dropped off the grid, but couldn’t confirm this until she suddenly showed up at his house in the middle of the night after being followed after her shift at the bar. This book has been a delightful addition to the series, the suspense keeps you guessing throughout, and the HEA has you smiling. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Severton community and its inhabitants! Loved this story!

Ah Alex's book was everything we needed from the Severton Series and more. All your questions are answered, the town is still a little odd, and to finally see Alex and Abby get together was amazing. Alex is ever the protector and he gets even more fierce when it comes to Abby. Abby's been hiding, but she can't hide herself from Alex, and he doesn't care who or why he just wants to make it better. This book was the perfect conclusion to the series and it was so great to read. Don't worry there's another fun town get together and the coven are better than ever.

I received and ARC in return for an honest review.

This is only the second book of this author in this series that I’ve read. Let me tell you I’m going to read the others. What I learned is true. Still waters run deep. Alex is the quiet type. Don’t let that fool you. There is more to him than you can imagine. Watch out for the quiet ones, they’ll fool you every time. Believe me I mean this in the best way imaginable.
Then there is Abby. She has her secrets and is a natural beauty but is what you see always what you get? What lies beneath when these two come together is volcanic.

Aside from the sparks in the chemistry between Alex and Abby there is a really good story and mystery to be solved, actually several things are going on in this charming, quirky town. It’s a town I’d love to visit, aside from the sinister characters and mayhem.
We also get to become reacquainted with characters from past books each one of them brings something uniques to the enjoyment of this story.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series to see where this charming town and family takes me. This is a story that brought all the feels and emotions to the table.

Omg! Massive 5 stars!

Alex and Abby's story was just absoultely amazing! I loved heading back to Seveton and Alex and Abby's story was everything I had hoped it would be. I kinda had a sneaky feeling these two would end up together.

Severton is home for Alex and always will be. He has a job he loves as a Police Detective, he's the quiet one of the family
....well anyone's quieter when they have a cousin like Jake!

Abby is relatively new to Severton and a bit of a mystery to the local residents....what is she hiding?

After Abby is followed home one night after closing the pub where she works, she gets spooked and heads for Alex's house, Alex who she has always had a crush on.

Alex and Abby's chemistry is something else! I mean they always say its the quiet ones you have to watch out for and if you have read Stirred well Alex matches Scott in the growliness stakes!

I absolutely love the whole mystery surrounding Severton, tied in with why Abby is in Severton and not forgetting the usual shenanigans of Jake's Alpacas, Gran and Sadie Grace!

I loved the introduction of the new characters and some that we saw briefly in Smoldered! I'm going to need their stories!

There were tears, some twists and turns I wasn't expecting but I asboultely LOVED! I can't wait to see what else is to come in Severton Search and Rescue Series.

I love being back in Severton with the Maynard crew. Each book has been building with an underlying quandary - who is Abby? Alex has kept an eye on her not only out of a sense of duty as a policeman but also a bit of attraction. He exudes this quiet power and Abby portrays such a meek outsider. Finally we get so many questions answered! This installment is loaded with mystery, collusion, new characters, old favorites (Sadie Grace, lol) and it's not without some steam, whew! Looking forward to more, especially Jake *hint hint*

I was absolutely hooked on this story from the very beginning. We have already met both Abby & Alex in the other Severton books but we found out all about Abby's past in this book as well as who she truly is. Alex has always been the quiet Maynard & the protector of those he cares about. When Abby gets into trouble he is there to help take care of her right away. I loved how we got updates on the other Maynard family members as well.

Shaken has to be my favorite of this amazing series so far! It has it all in one book. Romance! Alex and Abby's story has all the feels! Loads of steamy goodness. Suspense along with more pieces to the on going mystery falling into place. We meet new faces but enjoy catching up with our beloved tightknit family and the quirky citizens of Severton too. It's a fun summer must read. I loved it and can't wait to read hopefully Jake's story next. Annie has truly outdone herself with this one.

Abby and Alex just became my new favorite Severton couple!!

Alex Maynard has always intrigued me. Loyal to his town, protective of his family, slightly mysterious in his work, he's the quiet brother that everyone depends on. When Abby realizes that she is in real danger, its Alex, her friend and crush, she turns to. Their explosive chemistry doesn't surprise them but with Abby's life on the line, her sister's whereabouts in question and family loyalties in doubt, Alex has some tough decisions to make.

I absolutely adored this book! Its steamy, funny and just suspenful enough. Once you start reading you will not want to stop until the very end. Annie Dyer is an automatic one-click for me! I can't wait for more Severton books in the future!

OMG I couldn't put this book down! There was so much mystery, suspense, laughs, and love. Abby has done a lot to make her afraid but being chased by someone is enough to freak anyone out. I loved seeing that story build and see what all Abby is hiding. Alex is the perfect guy for Abby with their similar interests and the life they both live which requires a lot of fear conquering. However, it is very hard for couples to survive when they have people chasing them, threatening them, a brother against them and much more. Their story is worth everything that happens!!

Also, I absolutely loved the set up to the next books and the other Annie Dyer character sightings throughout the books!

Shaken
Severton Search and Rescue Series
Annie Dyer
Quiet, calm, observant Alex Maynard has some dangerous secrets. This small town cop is way more. So to is the beautiful, talented very secretive Abby who appears to be on the run. Everything is not as it should be in the crazy but sweet little town Severton. Yes the Alpacas are still wandering around, Scott is still grumpy and Nan and her cronies are still crazy, but trouble is afoot.
Annie Dyer builds characters to love. They seem real, flawed, funny, serious and the kind of people you wish you knew. Character driven stories with a thread of suspense are the standout features of this series set in Severton. This is firmly placed in the series that I strongly suggest is read in order, however it could be read as a stand-alone novel with hea.
I received an arc of this book.

It's the story we've all been waiting for and it didn't disappoint.

Alex is the quiet one...everyone's friend, reliable, wholesome goodness, and smoking hot, but lacking all of the ego and player attitude. He's THE catch. Abby is the new girl in town that works hard and is friendly to all, but keeps to herself and is the mystery everyone wants to solve.

Alex and Abby's adventure wraps up all of the Severton troubles and shows you how much more that they both are than just a small town cop and a shy bartender.

Witty and romantic, deep and delicious with intrigue and adventure mixed in. PLUS, the easter eggs in this latest story are incredible.

Shaken looks at the story of Alex, local policeman and Abby relative newbie to Severton who is a real mystery to the residents - is she all she seems?

The minute you pick up the book you were thrown straight back into the severton world, Jake and the coven back in toe....

Severton has always been home for Alex, quiet and mysterious the unknown of the group, thought provoking and loves to read the situation, so when after Abby locks up Scott's bar and feels someone chases her she feels uneasy and heads straight to Alex's house. He knows her and nothing much worries her - what is happening in the local area?

With chemistry out of this world combined with his career, what solution can Alex come up with?

With the mention of Vanessa alongside some new characters in the Callaghan Green Series, I can't wait to see where the next book will take us, as always things never go exactly to plan with the bumps and twists along the way!!!

I think this is my favourite so far of the Severton series. We learn much more about Alex, up until now the most enigmatic of the Maynards, and Abby, who has secrets of her own.

Their relationship develops against a background of the usual Severton shenanigans (not all of which are alpaca-related...) and an ongoing mystery which is well concluded... but there’s plenty more hinted at for future series instalments. If you’ve read the Callaghan Green series, you get a teasing glimpse of some of the characters from that as well...

The story trips along at an excellent pace (in a “just one more chapter” kind of way) and is full of the deft characterisation and sharp banter that you’d expect from an Annie Dyer novel. Recommended.

Intrigue and romance are waiting for you in Shaken, Severton Search and Rescue Book 4. Abby and Alex have been there, but neither had made any moves toward each other until someone follow Abby home one night after her shift at the bar. Alex’s home is closer so she goes there instead of to her own home. a police officer, is there for Abby and, their mutual attraction is sparked. Great installment to Severton!

Another Masterpiece, in the Severton Search & Rescue Series… I just can’t express with words how good Shaken is. Every time the next book in this series is released, I think I have found my favorite, but then the next one is even better! This time we get to see Abby and Alex fall in love. We also get a bonus in that the story is filled with suspense and intrigue regarding the sinister inner workings of an underground criminal network. The plot is a delicious blend of love, passion, murder, and intrigue!
Abby’s been keeping a big secret, one close to her heart and pretending to be someone she’s not in hopes of finding her sister. She gives up her dreams, but finds something more than she bargained for when she follows the trail to Severton. She doesn’t want distractions, but she can’t help falling for Alex and his broody ways.
Alex is a smart cop. He knows that Abby’s been hiding out, he just hasn’t figured out her secret yet. He doesn’t understand the attraction that he has to her. When he realizes that she is mixed up in the case he has been working, he realizes that he will do anything to protect her.
From friends to lovers, their story is as steamy as it is swoony.

Shaken is Alex and Abby's story from the Severton Search and Rescue Series. Alex Maynard is the quiet, strong, mysterious brother and Abby has been a constant character throughout the other books but we know little about her. This book throws you straight into the drama from the start and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end. Alex and Abby have known each other for 2 years and are the perfect match with huge amounts of chemistry. All the usually characters appear including Jake's Llama's and Gran is still up to her old tricks.

I love the cross over with characters from the Callaghan Green series and the glimpse Anne gives us into possible future happy endings.

Best book of the series so far for me. This was a long awaited book and I loved every minute of it, can't wait for my next visit to Severton.

Honestly this series just seems to get better and better! Abby works at the Hotel and the pub, she tends to keep herself to herself, but is friendly. And what people don’t realise is that she is living a lie, and has secrets which could get her in deep trouble and hurt.

Alex is one of the local policemen, he knows Abby, and has always liked her, but he also knows who she really is, but doesn’t yet understand why she is keeping secrets and why she is keeping her head down in Severton.

Things change when one night Abby is followed after leaving the pub and she heads to Alex’s houses for help. Can Abby finally let her guard down and trust someone who can and is willing to help or will she be scared into moving on?

This is a great book, and I read it in one afternoon.

Annie has a remarkable way of making all her characters so real. I love the development she puts into each character and into their relationships. I love the banter between the Maynard family. This book can be read as a standalone, but would be more enjoyable if you read it in series order. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one!

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I love the Maynard family and this wonderful, kooky town. Alex and Abby have danced around each other for two years, and it’s about time they stopped. The attraction and chemistry is there in spades. Sometimes people just need a nudge. Turns out these two needed a huge shove in the form of a mystery. As much as I love my BBF Scott, I really enjoyed Alex too. The town mystery really come to the forefront in this one. We find out so many things. We learn why Abby is so quiet and sticks to herself. Why she works herself to the bone. Alex has been in the background of the stories for a lot of the previous books, but we get to know more of him. So many great secondary characters that hopefully make future appearances. I absolutely cannot wait for Jake’s book.

It has been a while since I’ve read an Annie Dyer book so I loved being able to dive back into the Severton universe as it’s a universe that I really do love.

Abby has been a character that has genuinely fascinated me and that also makes me wonder what is really going on with her. She has this air of mystery about her. There has always for me been this question about what is going on with her, there’s never really been any answers until this book.

Alex, gah I love Alex, not going to lie, I’ve claimed him since the first book because the strong, silent type is addictive and he embodies that in a really powerful way.

Once their relationship starts to form, it is so sweet and I loved watching their love develop and blossom so well. This was the sweet read I didn’t even realised that I needed, it was fun and oh so perfect for me.

I love seeing other characters, especially Jake who please has to be next! I need his book too but I am content with this book and I am ready for more!

This is Alex and Abby's story. First, I never thought they would end up together. I always saw Alex ending up with someone from the force, so when I started to read the story I was really happy to see where it was going. It was so easy to get pulled into the story. I started reading and I just couldn't put down the book. Annie, you have done it once again, and I just can't wait for your next book, because I know it'll be as good as this one!
