"The basis of this book is to understand what your range should be and that of your opponent, and how this should affect your playing decisions. Unlike the first book, real poker examples are used instead of theoretical toy games."
A really good book and one to read over and over to let the concepts settle in. Worth reading this as it is the practical application of the principles in Volume 1. I’d recommend reading it in conjunction with Dara O’Kearney’s GTO book (which is somewhat simpler, but doesn’t go the same level of detail).
What do "game theory optimal" poker strategies look like? How is poker solver software used to explore these strategies? Most importantly, how can I use this information to make better decisions during my own poker play?
Andrew Brokos takes us on a journey of how a professional poker player uses software to determine game theory-optimal solutions for specific scenarios, and then generalize those results to be useful in real poker situations. If it sounds complicated, it's because it is! But this book will help you understand how to think more like a solver and to ask the right questions in any poker hand.
