Redemption

I knew he would ruin me from the moment we met. Everything about the man screamed confidence. Sensuality. Intelligence. Worldliness. But it was how he saved me that ruined me most.

Through him, I learned to end my path of self-destruction. I no longer needed to numb the pain with mindless one-night-stands and drunken blackouts. He made me feel worthy. Treasured. Optimistic about my future.

Here I stand four years later, in a coffee shop a world away, still broken…but beautifully so. My scars no longer hold me back. Instead, they give me strength and enrich my appreciation for the good things in life. I have hopes and dreams…faith that anything is possible. I am no longer the lost little girl fighting for survival. I have direction. I have courage. I am not without possibility.

I’ll always have Gavin to thank for that—Mr. Cooper, I remind myself. That’s who he is to me now: just a former teacher. I know what you’re thinking, but don’t worry. I was eighteen when we first met. Legally, we did nothing wrong. Morally? Well, I guess that depends on how flexible your morals are

My name is Kat and this is my story.

Laura Lee is the USA Today bestselling author of sexy and seductive romance. She's best known for writing the Bedding the Billionaire series and the Windsor Academy series. She won her first writing contest at the ripe old age of nine, earning a trip to the state capital to showcase her manuscript. Thankfully for her, those early works will never see the light of day again! Laura lives in the Pacific Northwest with her extremely tolerant husband, two beautiful children, and some of the most ridiculously spoiled felines you’ll ever meet.

When she's not chauffeuring the kids around, writing, or watching HGTV, she probably has her nose in a book, with an iced matcha by her side. She's a sucker for spicy romances, always searching for new book boyfriends to add to her collection..

This is one of those books.

One of those books that pulls out every damn emotion.

One of those books that keeps you reflecting on its theme and characters hours after finishing it.

One of those books that feels so true to the traumas so many women face.

One of those books that dives into and explores the aftermath of abuse and trauma.

And one of those books that gives you hope.

I suspect this will also be one of those books that changes someone's life, anyone's life, who needs to believe that they're worthy of love again and that the man hurting them ain't it.

This is by far Laura Lee's most emotional read. This isn't just a book about a second chance at love and happiness--although, boy does Beckett give us that; it's a book about overcoming, of healing, of facing the demons day after day and learning that there are people you can rely on to help you through it all. It shows how hardship brings people closer together, helps them bond and relate to each other. From a psychological standpoint, this book is it. Laura didn't shy away from the raw human experiences and complexity of emotions and behaviors, and as a result, her characters and theme are so full of depth. There are a multitude of external and internal obstacles her characters face throughout, but Laura skillfully wove in those moments of hope and small victories.

Gah. I'm trying to express the emotional impact this book had on me without giving spoilers-not an easy thing to do because I'm dying to talk to someone about Beckett and Presley. Hahaha. That man is easily one of my top three book boyfriends, and I'm pretty selective about who gets those spots, and Presley is so strong and relatable.

I was hooked from the first sentence of Redemption, and I love that Laura Lee didn't waste any time putting the plot in motion. From the first scene, we're introduced to Presley in one of her lowest and most heartbreaking moments. If you don't empathize with her and root for her after the first scene, see a psychiatrist because you might be a sociopath/psychopath. 😜 Kidding. But seriously, Laura created an amazing character who is damaged but strong and who seems so, so real.

I also love that things didn't just get better once she found the strength to leave. She had to work through a lot of internal struggles, and for a time, both she and Beckett were like two negatively charged atoms opposing each other at every turn, while one positively charged atom loomed around them, trying to bring them together. I absolutely loved the realistic hurdles and conflicts they both faced throughout, and I especially loved that you could feel how meant to be they were despite all that.

If you love angst and hope and books about overcoming and second chances, this book's for you. It's so, so good and one I'll likely read again and again.

This IS the book, y'all.

If you’re looking for a second chance romance that hurts until all the right pieces fall into all the places, then this is the exact book for you.
Childhood best friends, that’s actually love at first sight. It’s a complete fairytale, whirlwind romance, dream come true, until tragedy strikes, and everything just crumbles. Our heroine, and our hero, are forced to pick up the pieces from where they lay, and try to forge new paths for themselves, but that leads to more heartache, and pain, and disaster.
This story bring about second chances. It questions whether you can truly go home again. Can the past be rewritten, forgotten, or moved past?
I loved these characters. They hurt, they loved, and they gave it as much as they could take it. The back and forth was amazing. The angst was intense, and we all know what a sucker I am. For that angst. Overall, this story is sweet, and romantic, and heartwarming in ways that you never knew you needed.
It’s also refresh to see a strong female lead facing such hard emotional moments that should break her, but doesn’t. It’s empowering to read as she pulls herself through to the end, and possibly find her way back to the happily ever after that she truly deserved all along.
This redemption story is worth way more than five stars.

There isn't enough words to describe how phenomenal this book is. Laura Lee has outdone herself with this one. From the very first words I was hooked and knew it was going to destroy me. This would have to be one of the most emotional, heartbreaking, traumatising, intense, gripping and beautiful stories I have ever read. Laura touches base on real life issues that make you feel like your not alone and that's its ok to ask for help. As much as it hurt to read i couldn't stop. One of the best HEA ever. Presley and Beckett's story is one that will stay with you for a long time. I highly recommend this book, make sure you have lots of tissues and wine. Your going to need it.

This was a second chance romance and a hard story to read since it deals with domestic violence and there are some pretty graphic scenes were rape and abuse happens.

But sadly, it’s a “it’s not you, it’s me” situation, I couldn’t connect with the MCs nor feel their chemistry, so I couldn’t enjoy their story as much as I wanted.

Emotional
Second chance
Gut wrenching
Swoony cowboy
Angsty

So many words to describe Redemption. I have been a fan of Laura Lee’s for a few years now. Actually, I have been looking forward to another book of hers with some real angst. Mix in the fact that it’s set in the Salvation Society..... umm hello new one click. Well, I got that angsty read here.

The emotions and backstory in this book are absolutely exceptional. You see a second chance story from two childhood friends and lovers. Both have been put through absolute hell and have survived. The details the author uses put you in the moment, you feel you are right there with both of them.

Beckett Armstrong .... what can I say about that swoony cowboy besides HE IS EVERYTHING!! Seriously in the top 3 all time in my book.

“The fact of the matter is, you’re back, and I’m tired of being the guy who’s always pissed off at the world. I don’t want old scars getting in the way of my future happiness. I don’t want to figure out how to live life without you again. I barely survived it the first time; I don’t think I could handle it a second. You’re my person, Presley. You have been since the moment we met. Your absence didn’t change that, even though sometimes, I wished like hell it would.”

If you want a book that sticks with you long after you are done reading this, pick up Redemption now.
For those curious of the tie in with the Salvation Society — you will see Ben (The Hulk). His book was Evermore.

If a book ever deserved more than 5 stars, it would be this one.

Self note - AVOID! During separation he sleeps for years with heroine's BFF and is concerned about OW's feelings when they break things off. AND now supposedly OW is getting a love interest in h's brother.

Are fictional romances now keeping it all in the family? This is the reason I no longer watch Soap Operas and certainly don't want to read about it! Yuck!

★. Thank you to the Author Agency for this arc!!
This review will have major spoilers so read at your own risk!

I went into this book with the hopes of loving it because I’m a second chance lover to the extreme. However, this book did not do the trope justice.

Having Beckett sleep with Presley’s childhood best friend for the years they weren’t together was very icky too me. There’s million of women in the world and he went for that one? And for her to be so present in the book was annoying because they just stopped sleeping together and he was worried about her feelings too much for someone who was keeping it casual. It ruined the whole book for me. And then to have Presley’s brother be in love with the best friend was not the move AT ALL.

The story with Presley was very sad but it was tossed under the rug. There was no angst, no grand gestures. This was meh. The best friend thing was ruined for me and usually I don’t care if they sleep around after they are separated but her best friend? No.

I read this book in 2021 when it was first released and I loved it then and I love it even more after my re-read.

Laura Lee has crafted a beautiful story of redemption—a couple who met as young children who grew to mean something more to each other, to have lost each other when Presley left to NYC for that chance to move past her hurts and her small-town life, to have found each other again when Presley makes the hard decision to leave her abusive husband and to find herself once again.

This book is my favorite Laura Lee book to date... the tears and heartbreak, the love and hope... you will feel every emotion and this one will stay in your heart for a long time to come.
There are heavy themes in this book that are not for the faint of heart but Lee captures your heart from the very first page. I loved the looks into the past and that feeling that this couple was meant for each other. Becklett is EVERYTHING!

And no pressure to Laura, but when can we get the brother's book LOL

From the time that Beck and Presley met when they were children they were inseparable and they shared an epic love. They had their future all planned out until life threw them a curveball they weren’t able to overcome and ended up following different paths.

More than a decade later Presley has returned to her hometown but her life and the people she had in it caused her to lose the woman she was meant to be. Beckett has now left his Navy career in the past, but it continues to haunt even after he returned home.

Their journey back to each other is both heartbreaking and inspiring as with the support of each other they fight to have the future they both deserve.

This book was so amazing!! I couldn’t put it down at all!!

I can’t say too much cause I read the ARC.

The way they both love each other so much was everything! And Beckett comforting Presley and helping her get her life back broke my heart!! My heart still breaks for what they went through and the things they lost! But I loved that you get to feel the love they have for each other through this book and you understand the things they are going through. And how everything is perfectly explained, and how they understood each other and didn’t make the same mistake again.

Presley was such an amazing character and was so head strong. I absolutely loved that after everything she went through she didn’t give up and it never dimidid her light. And that even what she went through she still never let anyone talk down to her.

Just know when it’s a cowboy romance the cowboys are going to be so hot!! And Beckett was HOT! Not only was he head strong but he loved so much it broke him when stuff happened. He was such a caring character and I loved that he felt he needed to help others and did. I also love that he never gave up on Presley and made sure she knew she was so love.

I don’t think I’ll ever get over this book!

I recommend if your looking for a read you won’t be able to put down and makes you feel all emotions! And if you love a good hot cowboy romance!

This book has put me through all the emotions. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and I got angry! I didn’t think my heart would cope reading anymore of this book. It was just amazing.

Presley and her family own a Ranch in Georgia. Beckett and his dad move into one of the cottages on the land, when Beck is 6, so Beck’s dad can help around the Ranch. As soon as Presley and Beck meet, they become the best of friends. As the years go in, when they are 13, they have their first kiss and become boyfriend & Girlfriend. Presley wants to move to the city, but Beck doesn’t want that, but decides he will do anything for Presley. When they are 18 something really bad happens between them and Presley runs away to NYC, thinking she will have a better life there. She meets a wealthy guy, who ends up being mare. Sebastian is a horrible person behind closed doors and beats on Presley. She puts up with it for years, until one day she runs back home to Georgia because she fears Sebastian will take it to far and kill her. Will running back home be the best thing for her? It will Sebastian hunt her down? Will she see Beck again? Last she herd he was in the Navy.

Laura is an amazing author and this book shows it. Iv not cried at a book in a while, but fuck! I cried so hard at this book.

“You’re all I see. You’re all I’ve ever seen.”

There’s just something about a small town, coming-of-age, second chance romance that’s irresistible. It’s the combination of charm and deep connection that brings the feels. Beautifully broken and bravely told, Laura Lee’s Redemption calls to the heart and soul. Oh did I feel this story so much!

Redemption is the moving saga of two soulmates pulled apart, who, like the North Star, find their way back to each other. The hero and heroine have a combustible connection, a magnetic bond that bursts, and childhood history that I couldn’t help but feel them and their story so much. I was mesmerized by the depth and raw vulnerability of Presley and Beckett, broken and brave souls who were created for each other. I felt these characters as if they were real.

I was in awe of Redemption, a fiery romance full of heartbreak and healing, but most of all hope … hope that love will always find a way and can heal even the most complicated of wounds. It’s not every day that a romance comes along and wows you, owning your body, mind, heart, and soul as you become the book you’re reading. I was a goner for Beckett, Presley and their heart-hitting love story with all the Sweet Home Alabama vibes.

💋💋💋💋💋 first and forever kisses

Avoid

Both not celibate during separation

During separation he sleeps (casually) with her best friend from school. Whom it is later revealed that he only stops because he is scared she’ll grow feelings for him

It is also revealed that his brother likes this best friend woman.

Her best friend? Really?

I just finished reading this story, generously provided by the author as an ARC, and I have to say, while it deals with extremely heavy and dark subjects, I really enjoyed it.

At its core, this is a story of hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable trauma. It’s about second chances at once-in-a-lifetime love. It’s about being the hero of your own story.

Admittedly, the first half or so of this book made my heart race with anxiety and dread — it was tough to read what our FMC Presley went through with her sadistic husband (including SA described in a flashback, just as a warning). What she suffered at his hands was awful — but it also allowed us to see how she, like a Phoenix, was going to rise from the ashes.

And did she.

Moving home to take refuge — and then reuniting with childhood love Beckett wasn’t smooth sailing — but once they connected, it was so easy to see they were meant to be.

I think this is a well plotted story that kept me turning the page throughout — a fast read because of that. It was complex and full of depth, offering so much insight with several chapters of flashbacks to their childhood, teen years and early adulthood — including the reason they were apart to begin with.

I def recommend this one for those not triggered by the content warnings offered by the author. It’s a heavy story — but a truly beautiful one too.

Oh the emotions this book will give you. You will go through a lot of them! But my goodness is it worth it. Beckett and Paisley were the best soulmates.

I was hooked for the prologue with little Paisley and Beckett! Then in chapter 1 I was even more hooked and needing to know what happened!
I loved getting the few flashbacks chapters of their past. It really helped to get the start of their relationship and then where it went wrong.

Everything that Paisley went through, my goodness. Those scenes were a little tough to read but to see what she went through and overcame, shows you how strong she was. Even when she felt weak and ashamed, I can’t blame her but to see she got out is what matters! I was happy to see she went back home and that helped her.

I am not upset with how Beck took the news of her coming back home after so many years. I was happy her family kept him away and that he didn’t see her right away. I feel like for their second chance story that needed to be done on Paisley’s terms and it was beautifully written.

That ending though!! Had me on pins and needles! Overall this book was a heartbreaking but beautiful love story!

Presley and Beckett’s story is one of those books that will stay with you forever. Laura Lee truly makes them work for their HEA!

Please check the trigger warnings if you have any triggers – this is an emotional romance with a lot of on page, sensitive topics.

💔Second chance romance
💔Childhood sweethearts
💔Small town romance
💔Best friends to strangers to lovers
💔“It’s always been you”
💔Soulmates
💔Emotional

After going through the unimaginable, Presley up and leaves her fiancé to start over in the big city life. She uses all her energy into starting over and she gets married within a year of leaving to a big city guy in hopes of forgetting her past. What she doesn’t expect is to go through a nightmare for the next decade.

Now that she has run away and is back home, she runs right into her ex-fiance. And what hasn’t changed over the years is how much she truly loves and needs him. But she won’t allow herself to need or want anyone anymore. Until she absolutely must.

Beckett and Presley really go through it in this book! I am a sucker for second chance romances, and this one might be one of my favorites. These two are destined for forever and they both know it. I loved the emotions that they both pulled out of me throughout the book.

Beckett is the perfect cowboy – I love how much he loves Presley and even after everything, he still wants to be the one to protect and love her.

Presley – my god she went through a lot. Her life has been full of one trauma after another. But when she allows herself to feel safe and vulnerable with Beckett – those were my favorite parts.

I am hoping that we get to see more of the side characters in future books!

Redemtion is a story that will stay with you, a multi layered beautifully written story about love, loss and finding each other again. Beckett and Presley met at the age of 5 and were inseperable, soul mates by the very definition of the term. As they grew they fell in love and their has never been anyone else but each other. The novel weaves chapters from the childhood throughout the present timeline that highlights the progression of their relationship to show why it broke them and led them on very different paths that shattered both Presley and Beckett in ways they never expected but brought both of them home to each other.

This book took me on a journey from beginning to end, Laura has such skill is writing likeable and relatable characters, Beckett and Presley are no different. Presley is incredibly strong, what she goes through and survives is awe inspiring and she does it for the most part alone. Until she realises letting people in, letting those who really love her help her heal is the best decision she can make. Beckett, oh my goodness this man, he made me melt into a puddle of goo he is strong, loyal, protective, generous but vulnerable too when he needs to let his guard down. These two characters just compliment each other perfectly and it made their story so captivating to read.

Redemption has a lot of depth to the story, plot lines that apply to both Hero and heroine as well as their own congruently. It's a perfect second chance romance, showcasing how two people heal each other. How they learn to love the new individuals they have grown into because of the events that had torn them apart and shaped them over the years they missed. If you are looking for a romance that you can't put down, that feels real, complex and epitomises second chance romance between soul mates then you need to pick up this book.

Redemption pulled me into the Salvation Society world in the first pages, engrossing my mind and within a chapter engulfing my emotions.

Presley has lived in hell for years merely existing, but when an opportunity arises she takes it, and goes back home, and to everything she ran away from all those years ago. The moment she makes that decision is when Presley begins finding her inner strength, and every second of it is inspiring, she may have been knocked down, but she was never going to stay down.

Beckett is a country boy through and through, and oh lordy, he was all southern charm, swoon, and underneath was a man who was dealing with his own demons.

I’m not even sure how to explain the chemistry Beck and Presley shared, it was spine-tingling, soul-searing, you could feel it from the second they are back in the same town, they were always going to find their way back to one another.

Redemption is so much more than a second chance romance, it’s about that once in a lifetime love, 2 broken souls reconnecting, a woman reclaiming her fire, raw emotions bleeds through the pages, angsty, heartbreak, swoon, and so many more feels, banter that lightens the heavy emotions.

If you're looking for a book that will take you on the craziest rollercoaster of emotions then look no further. Laura will have you going "aww" one minute then cursing her name the next. The emotional connection between these two characters transcends time, distance, and each of their tragic pasts.

You will be on the edge of your seat while you watch these two fall in love for the first time and wait for them to fall in love a second time. Angst, steam, swoon, character development, intriguing side characters this book has it all.

Highly recommend

📌”I think maybe you’ve been surviving for so long, you forgot what living feels like.”

📌”We were never over. You’re lying to yourself if you think otherwise.”

This is my apology. And hopefully my redemption too. I’m sorry dear Laura Lee. I’m sorry it took me this long to make it here. I regret every day spent not reading this book.

So guys, don’t make the same mistake I have. Don’t wait to read this. Don’t wait to shed the tears, to embrace the smiles, to fall for Beck and Pres. Don’t. Because life is too short to leave the amazing books unread.

I started this midday yesterday. I finished all 400+ pages before going to sleep. When I say this is unputdownable… know that I truly mean it.

Let me just say this too… I love second chance so much because of books like this. Where the pain makes me feel. The regrets make me feel. But the love also makes me feel. And the healing… heals me too. It was an absolute pleasure to go through this journey with Beck and Pres. One I might get to relive soon.

Now, not sure if I’m feeling Nicky or Nicole. But I sure am feeling Clay 😎 and the sheriff too 😜

Simply the best!

Laura has out done herself with Redemption! Are you ready for a painfilled, heart bursting second chance romance? Well search no more!

OMG can I just say, she had me at chapter one! Sometimes you can get a book and know exactly where the writer is going so you skip ahead or pass over the filler paragraphs? Don't you dare do that with this book. NOT ONE WORD should go unread.

I believe in fairytales and leprechauns and love at first sight. Our two main charcters found that out when they were tiny little kids, sitting on the dock kicking their feet into the cool pond water. That love grew and seemed to be the things stories are writtien about. But life has plans we don't understand and the pain, it can tunnel deep into your heart and soul, and if you run from it and not deal with that pain head on, a dam with burst and know telling when!

Laura has great knowledgable story telling in this gem of a book. She hits on many social issues and you begin to love the female lead even more with her tenacity and will power to comfront her issues.

Confronting your issues and living a dream will always make for a great HEA, but someone has to do something to inflict that pain! Someone who made her life away from her first love a living hell. Will she survive the pain he inflicts or will her dam burst? Will he let her go?

Her hero has some of the same issues stemming from his time in the military. PTSD is a Bitch! He learned how to face his demons and could with great love and patience and great sex help our heroine come back home again.

There are so many funky and hilarious side characters that I can not wait for the second book in the series.

Thanks Laura for another GREAT story. Your best yet!!!

This book DESTROYED me. This is one of those stories that will shatter you heart, keep you up until 3 am reading and leave you ugly crying. It is beautiful, emotional, and full of love and second chances.

Presley, I love her. She is survivor. She is strong. She is powerful. She may not have felt that way about herself, but she is so much stronger than she could even realize to survive in her situation as long as she did. She is so deserving of a happy ending and all the love in the world. I fell in love with Beck, he had his heart broken and his entire world was shattered, he experienced things that many people haven’t, but he found a way to cope with everything in his life. Presley and Beck are truly each other’s person and soulmate.

I loved getting glimpses of Presley and Beck’s relationship from the moment they met as children to when everything changed between them. Even as children and teens their chemistry is beautiful, their connection is magical and their relationship was a journey. At young ages they experienced more than anyone should at their ages. Flash forward the twelve years and there is still so much undeniable chemistry between them. Their hearts and souls recognize each other and crave each other.

The real life issues tackled in this story are hard to read at times, but the way they are handled throughout this story is raw and emotional and real. It isn’t glamorized in any way. These scenes make you feel so many different emotions.

If you’re looking for an emotional, second chance romance this is one to read!

Presley, a girl who grew up on a farm, fell in love with Beckett before they knew what love was.

Beckett, moved to Hope, Georgia when he was 5 years old, asked Presley to be his girlfriend when he was 13.

This book is about Presley and Beckett's story, they met when they were 5, fell in love at 13, now 12 years later, they are practically strangers. A hospital visit, that was all it took to change Presley and Beckett’s life forever all those years ago.

12 Years Later

Now that Presley is back in town, Beckett realizes he has never really moved on, but Presley isn’t the same girl she was 12 years ago. Her smile is different, in her eyes I see secrets lurking in the distance. But, Beckett too has his secrets. Two childhood friends make their back to each other, even with scars from the past. Is it meant to be? Or is it another dream turned nightmare?

Such an incredible story. This book shows you strength and overcoming. This book was definitely out of my comfort zone but in the best way possible. Presley and what she has been through these past years. I know my summary isn’t the best, it definitely does not do the book justice at all, but such an amazing read. That's all I can really say. Just take a chance on it, I don’t regret reading it.
But I would check Trigger Warning before reading this book.

Another sweet read for Author Laura Lee! She always seem to know how to get your heart to break good and piece it back together in a way that makes their story so much more. This time around we get a story from the Salvation Society series and it entails childhood friends to lovers Beckett Armstrong and Presley James.

They were a first for each other in pretty much everything. They were inseparable. They were living a beautiful life of being in love and had plans for the future. An unexpected turn of events changes that; however, it did not hold them back until their plans lead them to turmoil; altering their future, and in turn being separated and taking a different path in life they lease expected.

Their story is one to not take lightly. They face many challenges together and apart making them different people when their path crosses again. Their journey is filled with emotions from all angles playing with the heart and mind constantly. Can they move on after what they have gone through with or without each other? This is a story of second chances and to believe that if it is meant to be everything will work out in the end and that anything is possible even when we are broken.

Oh what a world wind of emotions this story was. An epic tale of a second chance.

I loved me some Beckett. The love he had for Presley never wavered but sat in the wait until he could revel in it with his forever girl. This man was steadfast and patient and just oh so swoony.
Presley, I can’t not acknowledge this woman. While she shamed herself for being weak, I admired her for her strength.

Beckett and Presley’s love transcended time and distance. It was resilient over every obstacle piled against them. Twelve years later and they had a love that was more powerful than before. Instead of letting their pain keep them separate they let their love work to heal them together.

Through the tumultuous yet beautiful journey that is Beckett and Presley’s hea, Laura Lee
showed us the true power of love.

This is a heartbreaking, soul searing, amazing book.

It definitely needed the trigger warning. I saw some reviews say it was too brutal. As a DV survivor, it was all too realistic. Laura Lee did an amazing job describing the fear, emotions, self talk, violence that happens in these relationships. She also did another thing that was beautiful - she showed how survivors help other DV victims out, even to escape.

Oh Beckett.... I need a Beckett in my life. He was rightfully angry the first time he saw Paisley, but he did a pretty quick gut check and corrected course.

I don't generally like when author's jump between the present and the past. But this was done with purpose. The past scenes foreshadowed the present scenes and without that foreshadowing, the reader would not understand the significance of the scene from the present.

Paisley and Beckett were meant to be together. And this is a beautiful tale of how we can veer off path, but still find our way back.

Gah! My heart is overflowing with happiness right now. I loved this story so much.

Laura Lee gives you all the things you could wish for in a great romance - drama, heartache, betrayal, a sexy and swoon worthy leading man, a strong and feisty female character, but most importantly, love.

I was warned several times before reading it that it would be an emotional read. I'm so glad I was, otherwise I would probably be rocking in the corner somewhere due to emotional terrorism. There are some VERY heavy subjects that are touched upon. It was absolutely heartbreaking to read about all the things Presley and Beckett had to deal with.

I could wax poetic about this book so much, but I want to keep the spoilers to a minimum, so you can appreciate the magnitude of this story.

A top read for me.

My first book by this author and I'm going to go into this review by saying that I need to read her Windsor Academy series. She completely smashed the dark & abusive part in Redemption, I can only imagine how amazingly angsty her other books are.

About Redemption: I loved it. Like I've already said, when it gets messy, dark and cruel, the writing abilities by this author truly shine. The sweet parts were so intoxicating. A boy and a girl meet, become friends and while they're growing up they also fall in love. But faith has other plans and too soon they go on separate paths. And then life becomes brutal for both of them, but in different ways.

I was giddy reading about a boy and a girl, I held my breath during the abusive parts, and I swam in emotions when second chance blossomed.

Loved, loved, loved!
