He’s a fantastic doctor, has a family he adores, and his wife, Samantha, is the best thing to ever happen to him.
Except, as he wakes from a coma, Liam soon learns his amazing life was just a dream. And Samantha, his best friend, has no idea how he feels. Now he has a dilemma. Risk their friendship for love everlasting or ignore what his heart and soul want?
Her heart aches because he’s her friend—
That’s what she kept telling herself. Friends love each other. Right? But, now Liam’s awake and she can finally breathe again.
All is right in the world and life can get back to normal. Only, why can she feel him staring at her across the room? And why does her heart speed up, and her belly get butterflies whenever he’s near. And why doesn’t her fiancé make her feel that way too?
Will their sudden realization that they’re perfect for each other cause irrevocable damage to their friendship? Or will it lead them to a long-awaited happily ever after?
Amanda Faye currently resides in Atlanta with her high school sweetheart and husband of 15 years and their 4 amazing children.
She's had a passion for reading and writing since she was a child. She stole her first romance novel from her mother at age 12 and hasn't looked back since.
You could say being a Reeder is in her blood. (Family joke)
Picture it: You fall in love, get married, have kids...then wake up and realize it was all just a dream. A whole other life lived only in your mind while your body was comatose. And that woman you loved? She's engaged to be married to someone else...
Wow! I tore through this book in a weekend. JUST A DREAM is as complex and emotional as it sounds, and it's also one of the more intelligent love stories I've read this year. The characters are likable, insightful, and their romance is well-developed. The author explores all my favorites:
✔️Second-chance romance ✔️Friends to lovers ✔️Memory loss ✔️Love triangle ✔️Workplace romance ✔️Steamy scenes!!!
Can't wait to read more from this impressive debut author. Highly recommended!
Living a perfect life with your wife, only to find out it’s not real, that it only exists in your mind. Just a Dream tells the story of Liam, who finds out Samantha is just a very good friend, and not his wife. But maybe his dream can become their reality… I love Liam and Samantha, and their cute story.
Liam and his wife Samantha have a great life, but when Liam wakes up from a coma, it turns out to be dream. A very realistic dream that Liam can’t forget. In real life Samantha is engaged, and Liam is a single guy, but they are close friends and both work in the same hospital. Liam is struggling with the feelings he now has for his friend, and Samantha is confused with the whole situation. Yes, she loves her fiancé, but knowing Liam’s dream makes her thinking. Two friends and sudden feelings, what will happen…
Oh oh Liam, poor guy. In his dream he had a good life with Samantha, but when he wakes up all is very different. Yes, he and Samantha know each other very well, but they are just friends. He is a smart guy and knows what’s real and what’s not, but he can’t forget the feelings and details from his dream. I admire Liam’s strength; he doesn’t go after Samantha full force to make her truly his, instead he leaves her alone to let her make her own decisions. Samantha is in a hard place as well. She loves her fiancé, but secretly Liam has always been more then just a friend. I feel so sorry for her, choosing between two good men is heartbreaking. I love that Samantha finds her way to Liam; they are an amazing couple.
Just a Dream is Amanda Faye’s debut book, and I love it. It’s a sweet, simple story about two friends who turn out to be so much more then friends; they are soulmates. I love how the author has written the main couple; mature, realistic characters who think before they act. The story might be too sweet for some readers, but sometimes sweet is what I need after some dark, intense reads. Just a Dream is also the first book in the ‘Doctor Drama Series’, I can’t wait what the future books will bring.
I had never heard of this debut author before, but was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. I've been in a bit of a book funk lately, but the first chapter alone had me hooked! The plot of this story was unique in the fact that the H didn't have amnesia from his coma, but he had a whole other reality that he firmly believed happened. And even once he accepted the fact that none of it was true, it didn't stop his very real feelings from that other reality. This book was full of angst, love, romance and heat, and ended with a HEA. This was a great debut, and I feel like the author will only get better.

OMG this was an amazing book full of heartache, sadness and very emotional, I laughed and cried with everything that they have gone through. This is the first book that I have read by Amanda but definitely not the last as this book is so well written and takes you into the story as if you are going through everything with them. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy Of This Book.
Oh, this is a super read I was hooked right from the start and was just waiting to see what would happen next. This is definitely different from anything else I have read I would recommend this book, let out the dog put the kids to bed and get comfy I just could not put it down and read it into the early hours.
I really enjoyed this story of a man coming out of a coma believing that he had a wife and children because he saw them in his dreams. It's a shock to him to find out that none of it was real. An emotional storyline and wonderful characters make you wonder if his dreams can ever come true. A great debut novel.

Can dreams become your reality or is it just fantasy? The trope of this book is unique as the H wakes up from a coma without amnesia and with a whole set of memories of a life he dreamed of. There's angst, second chance romance, friends to lovers, great characters and a deep sense of reality.

Dr. Liam Mackenzie has suffered a head injury and is in a coma where he thinks he is married with a family only to wake up and realize that is was a dream. Samantha Johnson is a nurse and has been friends with Liam for a long time so when he wakes up she is there for him even though she is engaged to someone else. Can these two best friends make a dream come true and become a couple?

So I was given this book by an author, wasn't an ARC.
I really, I mean REALLY enjoyed this book. All the feels anyone has ever wanted in a book was there. Like, RIGHT THERE! I'm so excited for the next one!
It was well written, and the ups and downs of this book only made it more enjoyable.
I received an advanced copy of this story from Mrs. Faye. Are you a fan of medical dramas? Do you enjoy stories that catch your attention and make you ask, "How will this story be resolved!?" Then this is a story you should check out! I love stories where friends discover they are more (and this one has a twisty "problem" to overcome) and I certainly cannot get enough of men who are not jerky alpha males. (Still alpha just not derogatory and has.... *gasp* feelings!)
Once again, when I was supposed to be reading another book, I find myself getting caught up in this one. A book by one of my most favorite authors. And it was so very beautiful, so completely touching and so utterly heart wrenching.
For a majority of the story my heart ached every time Liam was thrown back into his dream, only to come back out to reality realizing nothing about it was real. It. Broke. My. Heart. I couldn’t imagine the feelings he experienced...knowing the family you thought you had, the wife you thought you knew...only existed in your mind. Cue the tears and the heartbreak.
But even though my heart was breaking, I absolutely adored Samantha and Liam’s story. They faced a lot of turmoil but the journey was beautiful and led to the most amazing ending. In fact, I couldn’t have asked for a better end. This story gets all the stars for all the emotions it put me through. JUST A DREAM was such a wonderful tale. 5 Stars!!
“For every time I’ve wished I could burn the remembrances out of my brain, I’m twice as thankful that they are there.” ❤️
Life can be tough sometimes and there’s a lot that is beyond our control – I love escaping into a great romance novel and knowing that in the end the characters I care about will live happily ever after. . This was just a dream, and all of the events didn't happen. It was a story within a story. We dream of our loved once so we don’t have to be apart for so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time. That’s how Samantha was important to Liam but he was in denial for so long.... There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achive.. for the fear of failure. But Samantha & Liam made that dream come true. . Can I say this was a second chance romance, friends to lovers, great characters and a deep sense of reality. The happy ending just makes it all the sweeter.. ♥️

Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well. The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters and still manage to make romance feel so fresh!

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. I really enjoyed this book from Amanda Faye. “Just a Dream” has a great, well written storyline and it pulled me in and kept me engrossed from start to finish. I loved the chemistry between the interesting, engaging characters and also the way they interacted with each other. This is a must read book that I really enjoyed reading
This was an amazing read! This take on memories from waking up from a coma was different from the usual and I liked that. I liked the main characters and the side characters. The emotions were well-written and I felt every one of them. I would’ve loved to see them finally have their kids like in the dream world.

I loved Just A Dream. Following along as Liam fused his two realities into one was exciting. I laughed a little, cried a lot and sometimes I even yelled at him. Just A Dream is a great story. Do yourself a big favor and read it. You'll be glad you did.
The blurb definitely draw me in. I felt it would bean interesting read and I wasn't wrong. I did feel that maybe there was a previous book or something as a lot of history was mentioned like I had missed something but it didn't make it hard to follow.
This book is a sweet telling of a friend who loves a friend. A coma, a breakup , realizations, all appear in this book.Love conquers all and the story is told step by step in a hospital setting. Its a love story that makes you feel good. Enjoy,!
