"Quick relief for life's aches and pains."

It is a selection of humorous articles and quotes from the pages of the digest. Also included are selections from popular Reader's Digest features such as Laughter is the Best Medicine and Humour in Uniform.

I guess it will take me a good long while to read,it is over 800 pages, and it can't be rushed,as there seems to be plenty of humour here.

Thank God for Reader's Digest. I've been reading it since I was eight, and receiving our monthly subscription was always the highlight of the week. I'm fairly sure my vocabulary, grasp of punctuation, and better than average spelling were shaped by my early immersion in the Digest's staples. And the first thing I would read, always, was Laughter, the Best Medicine. Humor in Uniform came second, though these were never quite as funny as the latter. So imagine my delight when I discovered this hefty, red book to feast on!

* I feels like we've had this book in the family since time immemorial. But I just realized who the original owner was, and likely the giver, when I migrated the book to my living room library. It was Roger Lee. Thank you, Tito Dodong.
