All my life, it seems, I’ve made mistakes. Once, I lost everything. Failure seems to follow me around. I didn’t spot what a snake Snake was—he had planned a mutiny right under my nose. Yeah, he did well when he appointed me as his VP. I followed him blindly, never suspecting a thing. Now Snake is dead and I’m the prez. I still spend my days doubting myself, but I’ve got the whole MC depending on me. If I get it wrong, it won’t just be me who goes down. Then I meet her, a woman who needs me to keep her safe. I should warn her to stay far away, tell her I’m not a man she should lean on. I’m not a person to trust when I don’t have faith in myself.
Patsy Choices, always choices. I thought I did right when I left everything behind to make a new life, choosing which of my two adult children now needed me the most. We should have been safe in our new life—nobody knew who we were. But we’ve been found. Luckily, before danger strikes, the Satan’s Devils ride up to our door. I’m no spring chicken. I’m not looking for a man in my life. But I need protection, I need help. It’s time to make a stand and not run anymore. There’s only one man I can depend on to keep us safe. The trouble is, he’s Lost.
Manda’s life's always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?
There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.
Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.
Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.
Patsy and Lost, are a slightly older couple that have each been burned badly, very badly by their exs.
When Patsy and her son are threatened, Lost and Satans Devils step in. They talk things through with Patsy and Demon and make a decision to handle things their way.
Despite everything Lost went through before meeting the Devils, he knew he never wanted to lose her and was making sure Patsy didnt lose her children either.
A couple of very powerful scenes. You wont want to miss this one. Another fab book by Manda
This ride was like getting on a easy rider and just cruising down the road, It was smooth as a good quality whiskey next to a roaring fire!
I loved seeing the San Diego Chapter and it gave a new perspective of new characters and a different chapter with a different point of view!
I loved the older generation having a voice and they are ushering in the new generation and new points of view with New perspectives, personalities and a new way of life!!!
It wasn't a fast pased story. It was like putting on your old favorite jacket and it was comfortable and sat just right!
Manda-Mellett has a talent, she can write characters that are Young, Old, New and the Same! It is Spectacular!
Wow the San Siego chapter is just so good! Can I say how amazing the the older more mature couple get there gotness on. Lost wow he has taken over as president for the last 3 years. He questions if he is good enough or worthy of the honor! It was so great to see him rebuild his chapter after such a horrible past. I loved his drive passion and love for all in his life! Then there is Patsy the hell and sorrow she is going through. Having to choose between her son and daughter. Who needs her most and how to forge a new life. I loved how her and Lost relationship developed and how hot a couple thsy are. Goes to show how us older folks are hot. Great book and ready gor more
Manda Mellett has done it again! I am blown away by her stories and Being Lost is no exception. Lost is an older character, a silver fox to be sure. As Prez of the San Diego chapter, he doesn't feel worthy of his position. The San Diego chapter has had a trial by fire and come out the other side battered and burdened by betrayal. The Tuscon chapter has asked that they keep an eye on a woman and her adult son that just moved to the area. Seems simple enough until he lays eyes on Patsy when they receive an anonymous message that her and her son are in danger. Patsy didn't think that walking away from her daughter and her life would be so unbearably hard. But she had to be there for her son, she had to help him start a new life. She didn't expect to be attracted to the most handsome man ever much less that he would be equally interested in her. Patsy is so much stronger than she thinks and braver than she knows. Lost has so much doubt in himself but he doesn't let it prevent him from doing everything he can for his men and the club. So well written, enthralling and yet I found myself slowly reading it because I didn't want it to end! I loved getting to know this new chapter of the Satan's Devils and I cannot wait for more books about them. All the love for Lost and Patsy!
Being Lost is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. While you can read this as a standalone, you will have a better reading experience if you’ve read Ink’s Devil (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #5) to get some foundation for the characters in Being Lost.
I have read many of the Satan’s Devils books and have really enjoyed the author’s ability to weave real life issues into her writing in a way that engages your emotions. That being said, this book did not grab me as much as the others. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great read, it just didn’t have the same intensity as the other books.
I did enjoy the fact that the characters in this book are older and that the author addresses finding love in later adulthood. That’s something you don’t see too often. I’m also enjoying the bit of mystery that has started around who is shadowing the MC.
Being Lost is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. It is the latest story in the Satan’s Devils MC world and the first book for the San Diego chapter- although we have met them before in previous books. I have read all of Ms. Mellett’s books now, and always enjoy what she produces- and even though I did like this book, it didn’t blow me away like some of her previous stories did. I just didn’t ‘feel’ this one as much as I would have liked. Lost and Patsy are more mature characters which was great to see. So that provided an interesting dynamic to the story. While there was suspense and mystery to the story, I didn’t feel the intensity and tension that normally comes with Ms. Mellett’s work. Entertaining- wonder what Ms. Mellett has in store for us next?
As usual I'm never disappointed with this author. Each books are amazing. I was waiting for this book!! It's kind of different to read a book where the characters are a bit older than I'm but I loved it, it makes it real. Love Lost, he is a good man, honest and fierce. Patsy is independent woman and strong, they found each other when they both need it. I can't wait for the next one!!!!!!
This is another great chapter of the Satan Devils MC. Lost is just that lost, his confidence is shaken by betrayal of the old president, and past events. When he is asked by a chapters president to watch over a chapter members family, he does it but the bare minimum . That is until the trouble shows up at their door steps, then he meets his fate with Patsy, who knocks him. On his butt.. he. Takes them back to the clubhouse to protect them. Things start to. Get interesting between. Them and the club just sits back. And watches. The fireworks. They finally get together and admit that they have feeling for each other. The club. Takes out the trash, and ends the danger to both. Patsy and her son, who is prospecting for the club.. Lost. Has finally found his way, and its in Patsy’s arms for all time. They show the world that even, though your older it doesn’t mean that you cant do what needs to be. Done and take care of business.
So excited to finally get a book from the San Diego chapter. Being Lost was absolutely amazing. Such a great change of pace with more mature characters. Lost is still sexy as sin and Patsy still can make the heads turn. This has a great storyline that will keep the pages turning.
We’re back with the Satan’s Devil MC and this time us readers are being brought into the San Diego fold, getting to know the men and the odd woman or two who make this chapter a family.
Main protagonists Lost and Patsy are a mature, older couple who at one point in their lives have been left badly burned by their ex partners, yes time has past however neither of them has really moved on "relationship" wise, Lost got, well lost in the MC life as for Patsy she concentrated on bringing up her children putting their needs before her own even to this day especially more than ever before, it the reason she finds herself crossing paths with Lost in the first place.
When Patsy are her son find themselves facing dangerous circumstances it’s Lost and the rest of the Satan’s Devils who come to their rescue, offering them the safety and protection of residing within the clubhouse as they work together in order to eliminate the threat. It’s whilst being at the clubhouse the mutual attraction between Lost and Patsy manifests, growing into something more, more special than either of them has ever felt before but with danger ahead will Patsy accept the help from those around her or will she put herself in harms way thinking that will solve the issues they’re facing? Is there more going on than what they initially thought? What about Lost, can he get over his own insecurities and be the Prez that his brothers all know and trust to get things done?
Join Lost, Patsy and the rest of the Satan’s Devils in this, another fantastic five star read from the amazing Manda Mellett.
Lost: sometimes something that has been taken away or cannot be recovered is best left that way, stand up, dust yourself off and move forward. You’ve got this, age holds no barriers... especially for Lost and Patsy.
I loved Lost and Patsy! I really enjoy MC books, especially after my binge of SOA. I’ve read a couple other series, and they’re definitely more aggressive that this. I am gonna stick around and see how their story grows, and I can’t wait to read the next book!

This book should only be read by the over 18’s, there are lots of adult themed and violent scenes throughout, which are unsuitable for those any younger.
This book is a branch of the Satan’s Devil’s MC series and is based in the San Diego chapter, it revolves around the Mc’s Prez Lost and his inner turmoil as the President of the Club and as his name suggests, he feels lost since his club was torn apart and nearly broken, just like him.
The book starts as Lost is struggling with a nightmare of his club’s past troubles and this feeds his perceived inability to lead and lack of self confidence. He is reliving the events that nearly tore the club apart and is fighting against his subconscious in the form that it takes. He wakes up in a sweat, wrapped in the sheets and realising that sleep will now evade him, he gets up and gets ready to face the day. This doesn’t get any better as it is reported in the club “Church” meeting that a past member has reared his head where he shouldn’t have, but it is pushed to the back of his mind as the meeting progresses and other reports are given, including one that reported that the drive-by’s past the house that they have been asked to look out for by another chapter, haven’t noticed that externally, nothing has changed.
Next we meet Patsy, her son is on the run and she has made the tough decision to follow him and leave her daughter behind when he had to go into hiding from a past that, if they are found, would probably mean the end of them. They are trying to settle into their new lives in San Diego and as she is left alone in the house again, while her son is at work, she relives the worst event in her life and the reason why they had to leave their home. As she is looking at her business and debating with herself how to move forward with it, she hears the passing motorcycle again and wonders who they are and why they are passing by there again.
We next see Lost in Church again, when their technology expert reports that he has had a message he cannot track at all, say that “They know where they are” and they debate what they are going to do. The result of this debate is that Lost will go to discreetly visit the house and let those living there hear the bad news. This is where Lost and Patsy meet for the first time and not their last. As Lost and Patsy discuss the situation, the danger is made apparent to her and her son and this is where the real story begins.
As their paths become fraught with danger, passion, mystery and rebellion, they discover where their paths will take them and the costs that will hinder them along the way. For a passionate tale of new beginnings, overcoming past traumas and forging of loyalties, both new and old, prepare yourselves to become invested in another world.
Being Lost is the first book in Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. We have been waiting for it for a while now! I love that Manda is venturing out with all those spin- offs! I think the one we are still missing is the Las Vegas Chapter! What it also means, is that there will be so much more goodness coming our way! In general we are so used to seeing all those young buff guys as the heroes in the MC series, dark and gloomy … it is not very often that we meet someone of Lost’s calibre and age and add to it Patsy and women of mature age will gleefully sit back and loose away some hours in their company! I also love how the writer creates these tangible connections between the mother chapter and the other chapters! Patsy’s daughter is Bethany, Ink’s Old Lady who we met in Ink’s Devil, book #5 in the Colorado Chapter series! Also, I absolutely love the brotherhood and loyalty and standing with all your brothers in the time of need and it also gives us an opportunity to get snippets from the lives of brothers we have met in the other books. Lost is the prez of the San Diego chapter and his journey to this position has not been a light one … it is so often that he feels like he has been lost for a while now … Patsy has left his old life behind to keep her daughter and son safe and she thinks she is safe in San Diego but one’s past has a tendency of popping up when one does not want or need it and so happens also here … in ride the Satan’s Devils to save the day and off we go! You would think that it would be a fast paced, guns blazing kind of a story but you could not be further from the reality … it flows like a river on a warm summer day, leaving you feel just right! Dear Manda, thank you for finally giving us San Diego chapter and please keep them’ coming!
Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett
5 ++++ Stars
I could not wait to get my hands on this one. We met and visited the San Diego Charter back in Darts Book, as well as learning the story of Dart, the new sitting VP and his adorable wife, Alex. I believe this is also where we first met Lost. Then enter Patsy, who we met in Inks book. I actually didn't think I'd ever see Patsy and her son “Dan” again. Surprise surprise!!
I'm not even sure where to start with this review except to say I Loved It!! I fell in love with Lost just by his photo on the cover, and learning more about him and his insecurities just strengthened that. Add in that him and Patsy are not spring chickens and I was completely done for. Their story totally touched my heart and will absolutely be one of my favorites of all..Thats not easy to say because they are all special but this one just a bit more to me.
I love that I'm able to be a part of watching a new chapter begin their start within this series. I felt the same way when we met the Colorado chapter and after meeting all of their members I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on the next one. This author has ruined me for any other MC series. MC’s are one of my favorite genres and Manda checks every single box on my list of what I love most. So many books yet every one of them is different while still holding on to that main important aspect of it all being a family. I'm so looking forward to rereading this whole entire Satan’s Devils world someday.
Super curious about what was going on in the last few pages of this book, and can not wait to see what that is all about. Some answers were never received in this story leaving things wide open for Lost and Patsy. Also no hidden clues about who the next book is about, or if there was I totally missed them.
Being Lost (Satan's Devils MC San Diego #1)by Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars
I have read quite a few books written by Ms. Mellett and her writing just gets better with each book. I love how through she is with her descriptions if its of the club house and compound or just the people in general. These guys are not just a bunch of misfits that come together it is a brotherhood.
Lost had it all wife, house, business, money, and he lost it all. He always thinks he is a screwup that let people down. He does not know how he ended up the president of the San Diego chapter and he always thinks he will let his brothers down.
When he meets Patsy the mother of one of the old ladies from the Colorado chapter all bets are off, she is in danger and he needs to keep her safe. Can Lost keep Patsy safe or will he let her down?
Patsy she left everything behind to make a new life, choosing which of her two adult children now needed her the most. It was a hard decision for her to leave one of her children behind. So, with a new life and new city they should have been safe if it wasn’t for one mistake she made and they found her/them.
Luckily for her the Satan Devils come to the rescue before trouble starts. This is where Lost and Patsy meet there is an instant attraction between them but their both not looking for a relationship. Lost thinks he should stay away and warn her that he isn’t a person to trust when he doesn’t have faith in himself. But of course, Patsy sees him differently and feels that the only man that can keep her safe is Lost but can she really depend on him?
I highly recommend this story and all the other Satan Devil books that Ms. Mellett wrote….
Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 by Manda Mellet was a book that I never thought that I would find myself reading. A book about bikers was never at the top of my reading list, however, I became so engrossed in the lives of the characters that I could not put this book down. I quickly became intrigued with Lost and the rest of the characters in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego chapter of bikers.
Lost is a man, who really is lost. He lacks confidence in himself and always feels as though he is letting everyone down. Lost feels as though he is a complete failure and that he ruins everything he touches. When he is voted in as Prez for the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego he fears that the members of the chapter will see him for the loser that he is and that he will let everyone down.
Then Lost meets Patsy, a woman who needs protection from a powerful drug lord named Archer, a man who has vowed to kill Patsy at the first chance he gets. Lost is put in charge of protecting Patsy and this one task turns into something that neither Lost nor Patsy were ever expecting. Lost and Patsy are immediately not only attracted to each other physically but are drawn to each other on an emotional level. Neither of them expected to find love this late in life. Suddenly, both of their lives are forever changed as Lost vows to keep Patsy safe at all costs.
Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 was a powerful read that gave me a whole new insight into the lives of both male and female bikers. The characters were ones that you feel that you could get to know more personally, and you are drawn into their world. This book was full of action, suspense, violence, love, lust, anger, betrayal, and most of all the journey of self-discovery. This book is a must read!
Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) By Manda Mellett 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett. It is a story that had me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. It is a story that includes romance, suspense, danger, mystery, brotherhood, and family. I loved reading about the characters of Lost and Patsy. Lost is the Prez of the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils. He is also a man that has doubts about himself and is haunted by what he sees as mistakes from his past. How could he ever ask for someone to trust him when he doesn’t have faith in himself? Patsy made a painful decision in which she had to make a new life for herself. When danger appears so do the Satan’s Devils. She needs protection and to be kept safe. Will the one man who is Lost be able to provide both? What does the future hold for Lost and Patsy? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. It also had my emotions going up and down the entire time. This is an author who knows how to write MC club books and this is just the next amazing example. I love reading about all of the characters in the Satan’s Devils club as well as those who interact and are part of their day to day lives. Other characters have evil plans and agendas that need to be stopped. Will they? This book had some twists that I didn’t see coming. This is a story that I would highly recommend reading.
This book, along with all the others I’ve read from Manda Mellett, are beautifully written and every character has great purpose. I think she brings out the best in her characters as she’s done with these two. In this book, we meet Lost and we meet Patsy, who unknowingly come into one another’s lives for a purpose bigger than the two of them. Lost is the definition of his name as he blindly followed Snake, the late president of the MC. The problem with Snake was he was his namesake as well: He’d planned a mutiny under Lost’s nose as he never suspected anything. Lost knows his faults better than anyone else: He’s made mistakes, lost everything, and knows failure. That is until he meets Patsy, who for the sake of her adult children, needs to be protected and Lost is ready to step up to the plate to do what it takes. Lost ignores his gut to scare her off but he does have doubts of his own before he steps up. Patsy believes she made the right choice to start over but now she has to step out to help her adult kids but she has to shield their identity until they’re discovered. Satan’s Devils are there in the knick of time to save the day. As an older woman and a more experienced woman, Patsy doesn’t need a man to rescue her but who is she to turn down help when she desperately needs it and she knows she has to face the fears she’s been running from. In order to save Lost, Patsy has to instill confidence and a sense of worth into him so he can not only step up to protect her but to protect the MC as well. Again, I cannot get enough of this writer and her books!
In Manda Mellett’s Being Lost, we are introduced to the San Diego chapter of her Satan’s Devils MC. Other chapters of the MC – Colorado and Arizona – are already well established in Mellett’s books and San Diego has been mentioned before so it is exciting to get to know it properly! Lost has made mistakes and trusted the wrong people, and suffered for it. He is still suffering, and worried about what the future could hold for him and the San Diego chapter. But this fear feeds a determination to do the right thing, and a carefulness about where he places his trust. He’s got a good team around him and is willing to work hard. This story has plenty of tension and action in it. It’s a real page turner! But this doesn’t take away from the romantic story. It’s great to have an older couple as romantic leads, particularly with both of them dealing with the pain they have suffered in the past. You can absolutely jump in at this story if you haven’t read the others. Mellett gives the reader all the backstory they need to understand what’s going on. That said, the story leads on from the events of Ink’s Devil, the 5th book in the Colorado Chapter series. And if you’re going to read that, you might want the backstory in Devil’s Dilemma at which point you may as well read the whole Colorado Chapter series, and the original Satan’s Devils series, because why not? They’re great books. For me, this is a five star book. A great addition to a great series – I’m looking forward to reading more from the San Diego chapter!
Another great MC novel by Manda Mellett, featuring the ‘Satan’s Devils MC’, this time the San Diego Chapter. This novel concentrates on older couple Lost and Patsy, it’s nice to have a MC romance storyline featuring an older couple for a change. Both of them have had bad past experiences with relationships and so they are wary of love. Lost is the new Prez of the San Diego Satan’s Devils following Snakes mutiny and death. Due to Snakes betrayal Lost is unsure about his new role but the MC members are all looking to him now for guidance. Then he meets Patsy, Patsy has always had to make tough decisions in her life and the latest one was choosing which of her two grown up children needed her help the most. This decision has led her to starting a new life but now they have been found and are on the run again and in danger until Lost comes into her life. Patsy wasn’t looking for a man at her age but she needs protection and feels she can rely on Lost, meanwhile he knows he should tell her to stay away from him but somehow he just can’t. This is a great story, with strong characters, a fast paced storyline and at the heart of it a second chance at love romance. It has drama and suspense but also concentrates on the relationships between the MC members and the women in their lives. I liked how Lost and Patsy’s relationship developed throughout the book and how their chemistry sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes between the couple. A great read, and it was nice to meet a new chapter of the Satan’s Devils and I look forward to reading future books in this series.
5 stars! As always from Manda Mellett, another amazing story. We hear about the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils in previous books, so having the start to a new series is making me all kinds of happy! The one thing I love about this book is the characters are all older adults, which gives the series more depth in my opinion. In this book we meet Lost and Patsy. Of course both have had troubling pasts and bad previous marriages, but when they meet each other, there is an instant connection. As in previous books from this author, the characters have to overcome something troubling from their past that catches up with them. So of course Lost steps in to protect Patsy. Maybe with his help she can finally stop running from her past that is catching up to her, maybe she can finally relax knowing her children are safe. This book also shows the bond of the brothers in the MC and how close they are with each other and how no matter what happens between any of them they have each other’s back. Lost was really breaking my heart and I was hoping for the best for him, he deserves something good, and he finally finds that in Patsy. I keep thinking how long can this series last? How many more stories can be made and still be different from the last, but every time I pick up another book from the Satan’s Devils series, I am surprised, blown away and I fall in love. I can’t wait to see what is in store next.
This is the 1st book in the Satan Devils MC San Diego Chapter. It is a great book and introduces you to some new characters as well as some old ones from the previous books.
In the story we follow Patsy and Lost. Patsy is the Mother to Dan (Connor) And Beth who is MC member Ink's old lady. After the fall out between Dan and the drugs and the connection to Alder the drug kingpin, Dan goes to the police and tells them everything which then means for his safety he needs to disappear.
So Dan and his mother Patsy are moved to San Diego where they fall under the protection of Lost and the San Diego Mc. With Alder still after Dan they try to stay under the radar until it turns out that Alder isn't after Dan at all but his mother.
Lost is the prez of the MC and he has a hard and heartbreaking past. Suffering a lack of confidence at his ability to guide the club in the right direction he wonders if he has bitten off more than he can chew when he offers his help to protect Patsy from Alder. However, he cant stop his growing feelings for her and despite both their pasts he wants something to work between them. Can Patsy become his old lady or will he be unable to protect her so she had to run again.
It was an amazing story that keeps you gripped as you cheer for them to succeed but also your heart stops at some of the situations that arise.
Being Lost is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series by Manda Mellett. I’m a huge fan of Manda Mellett having read several of the Satan’s Devils Arizona books and all of the Colorado ones. I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive of a new series as I’d grown to love the guys in the other series’ and was worried about getting another new bunch to get to know. This was just me being stupid as I should have known that Manda Mellett would not let me down. I loved that she used links to the other 2 chapters from the very beginning to make you feel right at home straight away without feeling overwhelmed with all the new characters. Being 1 short of the Big dreaded 5 0, I loved that Being Lost’s story centred around a couple in their early 50’s. It’s such a welcome change to read about an older couple who don’t have perfect bodies. They have a few extra pounds here and there and a few grey hairs and wrinkles but still have a very sexy storyline. There is hope for me yet!! Lol. As with other Satan’s Devil’s book there is a great storyline running along with the romance of the main couple involved. The storyline in this book was thrilling and dangerous and a carefully worked out plot. I’m in awe of how Manda Mellett writes these amazing stories. I just can’t get enough of the Satan’s Devils.
Author Manda Mellett does it again with another stellar MC book Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1. Lost is the current President of the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. The only reason he is President is because he used to be VP until his president ended up getting himself killed and then he was voted in. But every day he questions whether he is making the right choices for his club. He’s been asked by the Colorado chapter to keep an eye on a member’s old lady’s mother and brother who have relocated. Soon trouble comes knocking and Lost must decide if this woman is worth jeopardizing the safety of his club. Patsy made a huge decision to move with her son to a new place, secluded from her past life. Unfortunately it seems to catch up with her, but not before Satan’s Devils find her. She knows she needs protection but hasn’t been with a man since her ex-husband. She knows she can trust Lost, but does he believe enough in himself? Yet another amazing MC novel written by this author. I love that she uses story lines from other books to tie together the clubs, but you don’t have to read the other novels to understand this one (although I highly recommend you do). I love the way the author is able to make two unlikely people just fit so perfectly for one another. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and look forward to others by Manda Mellett.
Being Lost by Manda Mellett is book one of the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego Series. Manda doesn’t get it wrong with these MC books and this one is no exception!
Lost is feeling the weight of the MC on his shoulders. He didn’t expect to become Prez and now he has to make sure he does right by the club. The Tucson chapter requested that they keep an eye on a woman and her son moving to the area. Lost doesn’t expect Patsy and especially doesn’t think he deserves a chance. Patsy had to make an extremely hard decision when she decided to move away and start a new life with her son. Now, danger is knocking at their door. Patsy has lived her life. She doesn’t need a man. Which makes meeting Lost a surprise for her. Even better because he’s attracted to her too! Patsy is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for. After all, she made an impossible decision and is sticking with it despite the danger she faces. Lost doubts himself at every turn but no way will he let that interfere with his obligations to the club. Will these two work through their issues so they can work on being together?
I couldn’t put this book down. I had to find out what was going to happen next. Patsy and Lost both went through a lot in their lives but still wanted to work through it all to be together. I really enjoyed these characters and this book!
Manda Mellett never ever disappoints!! It's just that simple! If you think you know what to expect from a MC novel throw those ideas out right now and read every Satan's Devils book you can find. You will be fully invested in every single character from start to finish. My heart went on such a rollercoaster ride!
Being Lost is a fantastic book filled with drama, heart and emotion. I loved that the main characters, Lost, the club president of the San Diego Chapter of the Satan's Devils and Patsy, the mum of an Old Lady from another chapter, were older than you really see in a lot of novels. Finding love in most books is left to the young it seems but not this time and I love that.
Lost is asked to look out for Patsy and her son by the Pres from the Tucson chapter (the mother chapter of the Satan's Devils) and when her situation takes a dangerous turn Lost takes her protection on and in doing so falls and falls hard, even while fighting his own personal demons and wondering if he is truly worthy. His vulnerability spoke volumes to me as most readers would automatically assume him to be a very strong and maybe hard character simply because he is a club president.
Story twists and turns will keep you captivated but most of all the heart of the characters will draw you in!
No plot spoilers No potential triggers The characterisation isn't the strongest, with the FL, Patsy, being TSTL half the time and the ML, Lost, so mired in the past he doesn't live in the present. Both of them are so indecisive it's boring. There are pages and pages spent on will this happen? Will that happen? What if that happens and then the other happens? On and on and on. There is also the issue of insta-love. They are sleeping together by the second day and in love by the third. The author makes a bit of a production out of calling the girls club whores and sweet-butts and the sexual activity in the club, but they are nice and one is a nurse. I don't really know what that's meant to say about the club and characters. I mean, I really don't know why that's important to either the plotline or character development. There is a scene where Losts demons haunt him and I found it frustrating to read, it was cringeworthy. Likewise the supportive scene. It's a lightweight read, and whilst I don't read heavy weight and dark stories I do like them to be rooted in reality unless I'm purchasing sci fi or fantasy. I will probably never re-read the book and I won't be purchasing any more in the series. If lightweight MC insta love is your jam you would probably enjoy the book.
Another home run for Manda Mellett! Being Lost the first in the series of the San Diego Chapter of the Satan’s Devil’s Motorcycle Club. The first set is based on the mother chapter in Tucson. You don’t have to read that series in order to read this one. But you know me…I always suggest you read everything from the beginning so you have a knowledge base. In this story we meet Lost. Lost is the President of the San Diego chapter. One of the main problems with him is that he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be prez. He constantly questions everything because the chapter was betrayed once before. Next we meet Patsy, she had to flee her home to save her son. The Tuscon chapter has asked SD to help watch over and her son. These two have both been hurt by people, which means that they don’t trust easily. So when it comes to each other they don’t know how to love easily as well. These two are such relatable characters in that sense. Like all of these author’s books, this book was such an easy read and it drew you in from the beginning and you just couldn’t put it down! I love this author and cannot wait to for the rest of this series! I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who love’s MC series! Well done Manda!
