The greatest enemy is the one within. Prince Kai Afkarr-Younger hides a dangerous secret--he's been infected with the Nightmare Plague. Exhausted from battle and illness, he must force himself to stay awake or risk spawning yet another monster attack on the already beleaguered city; an impossible undertaking without the strength of his tamer. Mari Asadottier will do whatever it takes to keep Kai's infection secret from Alveria's scheming Council. Without the power she offers through their bond, he'll never make it through the coronation ceremony in his weakened condition. And without the strong leadership, only Kai can provide, Bellsor will devolve into pandemonium. But their efforts to protect Bellsor are hampered when Kai collapses shortly after being crowned, spawning the deadliest monster of all. Driven to defeat what he's created, Kai nearly loses himself in a rogue animalistic frenzy. Only Mari's persistence brings him back from the brink and sets him upon the path to discovering Chaos's nightmarish plan to destroy the Sources of Magic. If they want any hope of defeating Chaos and protecting magic, Kai and Mari must hunt down and save the Primal Sources of Magic before they are gone forever--and Chaos reigns supreme. Queen of the Dragons' Ava Richardson invites you to immerse yourself in a dragon-filled world with epic magic, fearless heroes, and, at its heart, the deep bond between dragon and rider. (This novel contains violence.)
Ava Richardson writes epic page-turning Young Adult Fantasy books. She creates lovable characters and drops them into intricate worlds that are barely contained within your eReader. Ava has written 21 YA dragon fantasy series, including her bestselling series Return of the Darkening and her recent series, Destia's Dragon Shifter War.
She grew up on a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction books handed down from her two big brothers – and despite being dog-eared and missing pages, she loved escaping into the magical worlds that those authors created. Her favorites were the ones about dragons; where they’d swoop, dive and soar through the skies of these enchanted lands.
I wish I'd started with the first book in the series. If the 2nd is any indication of how great the others are. I can foresee that I am going to be spending a lot of money and getting a ton more books. I can't wait to read them all. About this part of the story: It gives a short summary of what has happened leading up to the start of this installment. Which this one being my introduction was very nice. It wasn't slow and was well paced. I can't wait for the story to continue.

This is book three of the Alveria Dragon Akademy series and continues the story of dragon tamer Mira, who has finally managed to link with a dragon and not just any dragon. She has managed to become linked with Crown Prince Kai, who spent most of his life stuck in dragon form due to his huge store of uncontrollable magic, which he could only contain in that form. He had been unable to shift back into his human form until Mira came along. In the previous book, the Dragon Guard were stuck down by a sleeping sickness, named the Nightmare Plague, which actually started with Mira being unknowingly infected and her nightmare attacking the palace and city.
Her father is the head of the Dragon Guard and someone she wanted to follow in the same career of. Now her role has changed somewhat, as she is now bonded with Prince Kai. He has now been infected with the plague and after the battle at the palace, where his father lost his power to shift into his dragon form anymore, Kai will be crowned King, but he needs to stay awake long enough for the coronation to take place. If he falls asleep, he is worried that his nightmare will be the most powerful foe they will face and could easily destroy the whole city of Bellsor and everyone in it. He has an enemy in the Head of the Council, Skymount, who believes Prince Kai is not a suitable person to become king and is putting everything into his path to stop his coronation! If he can manage that, then Skymount will be in charge of the kingdom.
Mira and kai have found out that the Nightmare Plague was manufactured and released by the god, Chaos, who wants to destroy magic and have all control over the whole universe, in his own hands. Only the person whose nightmare creature is manifested, can actually kill it, aided by weapons that Mira can manifest with her creation magic, a skill she must keep hidden from most. They have been helped in part by the god, Tyr, but he has been called back to Asgard, as Chaos is also causing the Gods problems up there. A clue from a lowly aide just before his coronation ceremony, gives some clues into what Chaos is trying to do and what they need to do if they are to save magic and all it means in their kingdom.
But Prince Kai collapses just before the ceremony is completed, releasing his deadly nightmare creature and giving more ammunition to Skymount to stop him being made king. Kai and Mari know they need to stop his creature, but the city gets attacked and she can’t wake him for a while. They need to find the Sources of Magic before Chaos can reach any of them, or that part of magic will be lost completely. There are four sources, air, fire, water and earth, or as many as six, if light and creation are added to the legends. They are not allowed to leave without the company of Skymount and a few of the Dragon’s Guard, so he can keep an eye on Kai, hoping to discredit him further.
One of the Dragon’s of the Dragon’s Guard, knows the legend of the water source and its possible location, as it is related to where his family comes from. This gives them a direction to head in and they get there as quickly as they can, but most of them are tired and injured after all the recent fighting. Failing to overcome his own nightmare, soon sees Kai getting himself into a rogue dragon state, as his dragon instincts overpower his humanity and Mari can no longer feel him through their bond. This is magic to Skymount’s ears as he immediately announces Kai to be rogue and to be arrested, ending his chance to be king. Luckily for Kai, Mari won’t give up on him, no matter what. She will put her own life in danger to try to reach him.
This is a great addition to the series and continues the close relationship between Kai and Mari, as well as the struggles they have to fight through and overcome, on their journey. A fantastic and magical adventure, with dragons, nightmarish creatures and even gods to contend with. The journey for all of the Sources of Magic may not yet be over, but that just leaves me wanting to read the next book in the series, Dragon’s Magic, as soon as possible! This is an easy to read book, full of dragons and those who work closely with them, as well as the magic that surrounds their world, so great for loads of different readers. I can’t wait for more! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
ONE MAGICALLY INTENSE JOURNEY!!! Wiley wyvern! Ava knocked the block off with this artfully composed piece of perfection, riding one killer storyline and gripping plot, revving up the exuberance and intensity, blazing this baby together seamlessly. This action packed, heart pounding, pulse racing, hard hitting, page flipping bombshell, keeps you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat. Shenanigans, escapades and mayhem rule the roost displaying the drama, turmoil, secrets, intrigue, danger, spiraling suspense and unnerving situations, along with a double dose of moxie and intellect, along with determination, makes one intoxicating masterpiece. Surprising happenstance and unsettling mishaps, swirl with the formidable trials and challenging tribulations, spinning alongside the deadly twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never imagined. Blurred lines and crossed boundaries, strengths are weighed and balanced, blasting this bad boy into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, launching it into a frenzy with a life-changing realization. Twixt, twined and interwoven, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuinely approachable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Ava, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This novel was a very good sequel to The Dragon's Guard. More action, adventure, and Chaos! It continues where the Dragon's Guard left off, with Kai preparing to be crowned king and Mari keeping his secret from the Council, whom does not wish for Kai to be king. Kai does not have much control over his powers, but gets some help from Mari and still fears his magic, which it what Chaos thrives on. Chaos has big plans and his actions could destroy all magic. Mari is strong and believes in Kai, but has to figure out her own creation magic and an unlikely source knows much about that that will make Mari very suspicious about this person's agenda. It is a race against time to stop Chaos and figure out his true goals. Mari and Kai have to back to the beginning, when everything was first created, but they face much opposition. That does not stop Kai and Mari, but each will have to overcome their own fears to stop Chaos. Mari believes in Kai, but she needs him to believe in himself and accept all parts of who he is. 4.5 stars

Dragon's Source picks right up where Dragon's Guardian left off. No breather at all. And the worst that Kai and Mari feared would happen, happens. Kai's Nightmare monster is released, wreaking havoc through the city. Giving Skymount one more reason to fight Kai's becoming king. Meanwhile Skymount has some news for Mari. News that could help or hinder her ability to help Kai, and defeat the plague. With a quest for the source of magic in view. Will they be able to succeed? What a wild ride of a read. Another great addition to the series! The author brings an exciting story with strong characters in Kai and Mari and takes them on an adventurous journey. It's a dragon filled story with tons of magic. The scenes are described in vivid detail and the story flows fluidly. I loved this book and am looking forward to more!

Dragon’s Source is the perfect sequel to Dragon’s Guard. He picks up with the appropriate amount of time between the storyline. He manages to recapture all the challenges for the previous book and builds up on them to add new ones. This action adventure/coming of age story like its predecessor is when I couldn’t stop reading. I eagerly await the next story in the series.

Wow from the start your pulled in to Kai’s fight with himself and the fight to save the source of magic. Brilliantly written throughout your pulled into the struggles Kai and Mari as they find and strengthen their bond. The heartache of loss and the euphoria of achievement. Not a book easily put down and now eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

Dragons source Algeria dragon academy part 3 reign of chaos book 2
Here I go again mesmerized by Ava Richardson's expert story of beloved dragons. I am old but reading these books make me happy. kudos to the author. Everyone I know who love this type of stories have thanked me for recommending them.
I really enjoy Ava's story's she writes fantastic characters that you fall in love with the part of our journey is full of feelings and drama! I couldn't put it down!
Once again or hero's find themselves two steps behind. The only option to save the world is to fight! And fight they do! Continuing on to the next book.
This was my first time reading something from the author Ava Richardson, which made me very interested on the complete series, in this book 2 we follow a girl named Mari Asadottier who in the first book of this series "Reign of Chaos"( be aware that this is part 3 of the series "Alveria Dragon Akademy"). "I don't like to give much of the book I'm not a fan of spoiler myself." So Mari Asadottier, wants to follow the footsteps of her dad, the head of the Dragon Guard, and become a dragon tamer witch, she managed to become a trainee in the first book... Now she keeps a secret of crown Prince Kai Afkarr from the Council, that doesn't want the Prince to succeed, (in the first book he was stuck in a dragon form), Prince Kai doesn't have much control over his powers, but gets the help from Mari and still fears his magic. Now due to a sickness that called Nightmare plage, which makes the crown Prince Kai, fall in a sleeping sickness before his coronation to become king, putting in danger the palace and the city, due to an attack to the city, planed and performed by the God Chaos witch wants to destroy all magic. Mari believes in the power of the Crown Prince Kai, but she has to figure it out, her creation of magic. This journey makes both go into the beginning of times when everything was created, the challenges that they face, don't stop them to keep going, having to overcome their fears to stop Chaos, Mari fights in what she believes, the Crown Prince Kai, but he needs to believe in himself and accept the fact he has to carry. This book, I can give it the right justice being the first one I'm reading, was a great read with a great magic world following all the magical journey, the dragon's witch was my first time reading about, this definitely will keep the reader going and wanting more of the series, I will want to start from the first one of this series for sure will probably do a marathon ^^
I received a free kindle copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily giving my own opinion.
