Jason’s lifelong dream was to study history at the prestigious University of Cambridge in England. But when portals started opening all over the world and thousands of hungry dinosaurs began to pour out of them, Jason suddenly regrets being in a country without guns. With the London police outnumbered, and the British military outgunned, it will be up to Jason to protect his two beautiful girlfriends from being eaten by prehistoric beasts. Together, the three of them will need to learn how to survive in a world that now belongs to the dinosaurs.
Disclaimer: Like most of my books, this series contains descriptive lovemaking scenes with multiple women, horrific violence, and other mature themes.
The MCs in this story are too stupid to live in the modern world let alone one overrun by dinosaurs.
To determine if you should read this book, consider the following:
You walk into a room. There is a dinosaur from a Jurassic Park movie that is coming to eat you and a naked woman. If your first thought is about your manhood swelling, this book is for you.
Typical Brit hasn't a clue about Americans. MC drinks coffee instead of tea and that makes him American. A helicopter that has"wings". No, they are actually blades. An internet server that is "overloaded" has to be fixed. Every American household has boxes of 9mm and .308 ammunition just lying around. This author has no clue when to use I or me in a sentence.
Aside from the stereotypical BS we American's get for having way to many guns.
The thing that drove me nuts was after the introduction of Ms Won; after that is was The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl, The Asian Girl, The Black Hair Girl over and over and over again.
Did you hear anything about The Blonde British Girl over and over? Nope you did not.
This author is rather inconsistent for me - he writes some stuff I like but some of this other works I don't particularly enjoy.
Dinosaur World (Dinosaur World, #1) is a new series and one that I rather enjoyed. Not as much of a Jurassic Park rip off as I thought it was going to be, Dinosaur World is fun, escapist literature that you can read without overtaxing your brain.
Dinosaur World doesn't require smaking the crap out of the "I Believe" button, leaving enough mystery and vagueness to keep the story arc interesting.
Sex is not as frequent as in some of this other works and is fairly graphic but not stroke material. If you seek arousing stroke material, look elsewhere. Sex is unsafe and straight, although some lesbian tendencies might have been hinted at.
Ultimately, Dinosaur World is a fun read and I am looking forward to the next installment in this series.
Book is good, but eels like it is aimed towards teenagers. The mc is 18 to 20. Acts like a kid. Talks like a kid and makes a lot of kid mistakes. I would read book 2.
A young scholar from America studying abroad at Cambridge faces a dinosaur invasion! Well thought out extenuating circumstances (most of the students away on holiday), no guns in Britain. Our hero has help though and I just thought the book turned out well. Looking forward to a sequel.
One of the worst things I have read this year. Awful writing and weak uninteresting characters (with the women reduced to a series of physical descriptions as character attributes). The premise was what brought me in, but the author even seemed to handle that with a rather broad brush. Not recommended at all.
It’s an okay start to the series, but nothing ground breaking. In fact, it kind of feels a lot like Vampire Lord (a series by the same author) but with Vampires replaced with Dinosaurs.
Easily the biggest problem with the book was that it only feels surface deep. The characters felt one dimensional, I never really formed any emotional attachment to them or their plight. And to be honest I kind of just kept reading because it was easy reading.
The one thing I did enjoy was the American view of Britain and it’s people. As a British person, it never fails to amaze me how we are portrayed in American entertainment. Apparently we are all either tea loving stiff upper lip cultured types or we are cockneys pulled straight off the streets of London. The truth of the matter is that there is very little difference between us and Americans for the most part, especially with TV and the internet helping to blur the boundaries between the cultures for decades now.
So here’s a little tip for any American author trying to write a British person realistically so that any reader in Britain doesn’t burst out laughing at how they are portrayed. Write them as you would write any other American character, but make slight alterations every now and then for language choice and culture. We do occasionally use different words and slang, but in my 35 years I have never heard another fellow British person calling a policeman a ‘bobby’, and trust me, we’d mock that person mercilessly if they ever did. We don’t all think Americans are gun toting idiots. We don’t all drink tea non-stop. Whenever you are tempted to write something like this, stop, ask yourself if anyone you know would ever behave this way, and then dial it back.
Overall this was a lack lustre book that kept me fascinated for reasons that probably weren’t intentional. I already have the next book on my kindle waiting to go, so I will give it a try, but I don’t think this series is for me.
(Book 1-3) Rather than a survival series, get into this as a lighthearted urban fantasy series with survival elements and you’d have a good time.
What I liked- Interesting premise- Dinosaurs, apocalyptic deteriorating conditions and harem erotica elements. Well written characters with ample time taken to flesh them out. The harem element is also eased into naturally without being rushed. The pacing is great from foraging to adventuring.
What I didn’t- Inconsistent logic- Sometimes it feels like a proper survival series and then it introduces scenes of an average guy splitting a dinosaur from head to toe with a normal sword. It’d be hard to do that even on a modern human skull, forget about a prehistoric Dino’s with multiple times the density. Some of the MC’s decisions and priorities are too immature for my tastes. They often risk being eaten just for slight conveniences and clearly luxurious needs which could’ve been done without. On that same note, it gets annoying when they care about a cup of tea and snacks first after getting caught off guard by a complete stranger in the unfamiliar woods. I wouldn’t be so carefree even on a familiar park around my neighbourhood I visit daily. They went through Dino hell and immediately trusted an armed stranger on the first meeting, enough to have a ‘chill’ visit to his house. Like really? I wouldn’t be so bothered if they weren’t written as smart characters who already went through enough to be more cautious than the ignorant students they initially were.
Overall- 7.8/10 A great guilty pleasure survival series once you get past some of the inconsistencies.
Science fiction harem adult situations The premise is pretty straight forward; three grad students are studying in the library when they are attacked by a trio of small captors and have to fight for their lives. Of course, all three are young and healthy, and Becca and Hae-won, the two women, are beautiful and brave. Jason, the male, breaks a chair and kills one of the 3-foot raptors and the action begins. I was immediately reminded of the British series Primeval, except thousands land at Cambridge University where they are, and as the hours pass the dinosaurs get larger and larger; more, the rampaging dinosaurs appear worldwide. Waiting 24 hours to mobilise the military, considering the casualties the first day is a stretch, and when the three see signs of dead soldiers, they don't check for weapons or food. Later, when there's a helicopter crash, they don't check it out. I have a few other quibbles, but I think they are ignored because this is a harem story and the harem hasn't been established yet -- so some things are done because "reasons." It's a first book in the series, and a tad short, but it is engaging. Recommended.
Ok we've been invaded by dinosaurs. Where did they come from? How do we fight them? Ok, now that they are here and causing chaos we're fighting back, but there are supply disruptions. So, are they eatable? Since the internet is still up (for now) how come theres no info on how to cook and eat the dinos you killed? I know people are conditioned to get food from the stores, but with all these dinos running about and people getting hungry how come no one thinks..... hey, l bet they taste like chicken? Sure they are dangerous, but 3 people can work together to trap and kill a small trio of lesser dinos, thats food for a few days while we get it together on how to terminate the bigger, more dangerous ones. Dinos are dangerous, but people are far more deadly!
Been reading a few of this author’s books. This is in my opinion one of the better ones. The MC is a lot more believable in my opinion. He is smart, has a good measure of guts, and has a dash of good luck. The other MC’s in this author’s other books can come off as somewhat unreal but then again these are works of fiction so whatever! Really loved the post apocalyptic setting using dinosaurs instead of zombies (kind of tired of that trope already). And obviously the build up to the necessary romantic situations that arise along the way felt natural (or as natural as can be expected on a dinosaur post apocalyptic setting!). Really looking forward to the sequel.
Dinos, Righteous Chicks, Mysterious Portals and Soft Core.
See the headline, what's not to love? Old-time pulp sexist cover--Frazetta lives! Straight ahead weird scenes inside the goldmine storyline-- dinosaurs suddenly pop into existence in London and three students at a Cambridge university, two gorgeous women and a slightly dweeby dude--must band together to survive as they try to figure what in the name of twisted timelines is going on. Fast paced, well told, plenty of action--guess we have to wait for volume 2 for the inevitable threesome to take place. I thought it was a fun read.
Dinosaur World is a fun journey from the uni at Cambridge to the fun conclusion. The length of the novels are good and there is a nice mix of fighting and survival. The MCs are intelligent and honorable and they deserve some cheering at their actions.
The sex is fine even if sometimes it is thrown in when you would rather just have more story. One of the stories mentioned "Skulduggery" in passing and I liked that the author didn't make a big deal over it (it is my favorite of the authors series... don't get me started on them redoing the first several audiobooks before finishing the series).
A way cool start to an interesting take on the Apocalypse. I can wait to see where this series goes. The main characters are awesome and the dinos they come up against are interesting to say the least. Some of the ideas and situations are really well thought out and it was nice to see the author stick to science fact for some parts of this very science fiction novel. Really looking forward to book 2. Oh yeah the romance is steamy as and no fade to black! You have been warned
Three modern day college students against prehistoric dinosaurs in England. How’s that for a storyline? I found it interesting and fun as the students learn to survive and interact. The author takes you along with the three on their adventures while seeking to survive and discover information regarding their respective families. Two young women and one male make for interesting interactions and of course a bit of romance. If something different is your desire, this is the book. I highly recommend it for easy, fun reading.
I'm relatively positive Logan Jacobs writes in his sleep. He puts out so many books and I for one can honestly say its not a quantity over quality gig. All of LJ's books are supremely written. That being said if you like the thought of dinosaurs in an urban environment while a MC tries to not only survive but protect two lovely beauties then pick this up... and if you haven't done so yet... Read ALL of his books. You will not regret it.
So no zombie apocalypse.Seems dinosaur started coming through the gates to tear up the world. Our hero the MC happens to be caught in the library with 2 gorgeous women. You can imagine what happens next. Survive the dinosaurs, learn to defend yourself, start building a base, and have fun with the girls. All good so far. Certainly not Pulitzer Material but a lot of fun and a good read.
Can three Cambridge students 1 male 2 females fight to survive .
Portals are opening all over the world as dinosaurs are emerging from the portals from another time . Is the human race able to survive ? Three students from Cambridge during Easter break must come together to survive an live during this dinosaur invasion . recommend reading excellent book looking forward to reading the next one .
So you might think this will be the same as any other Dino fantasy apocalypse book. It’s not. I did not see most of the plot coming, though maybe a thing or two was bound to happen. Somewhat refreshing is that not everything is explained or provided on a silver platter. Some nice discovery to still be made. Looking forward to book 2
There is something about Dinosaurs that makes things far more interesting than without. And the end of the world with Dino's is no exception.
Love the characters and the story, and love how in depth you've gone in regards to gun laws and such, and how an American in the UK has that problem on top of the Dino's.
I must admit that I maybe had a little bit of a doubt about this one. I tried a few apocalypse books set in England before and they did not overwhelm me at all, but this one was different. Right from the beginning it was spellbinding and kept me reading right up to the last page. I can’t wait for the second book...
As with all of his works a great book good characters and a vivid environment. I am a huge fan and have yet to be disappointed. I look forward to more in this story and hope I am the 101 st review lol. I never get tired of reading me Jacobs work and encourage people to look into his many other books. So thanks again for a great distraction
This story about portals dropping dinosaurs into cities. Was a suprisingly intresting series start. I really like how these. Kids from three different countries and cultures. Were able to work well enough together. That they are able to survive. Better than the adults are. I look forward to book two!
I could not side step the stupid errors. Theains all attend Cambridge yet they act like junior high students. Frik a branch of the plot is based on needing a tetanus shot because one of the mains skipped school and missed shot day. I can overlook a lot for the sake of entertainment but this was one thing after another pushing me out of the story.

I really enjoyed this book. The pacing from the action scenes and the survival preparations were well spaced. I also enjoyed that they took the time to develop the romance between the main character and his love interests. I was a little confused as to how empty the campus had been. All in all, I greatly enjoyed this series.
Okay this is easily one of my favorite new series! Every moment and page of this fantastic work had me absolutely giddy, it was a fantastic read and presented me with my new favorite type of apocalyptic event! Read this book immediately!
