In the second half of this book we pick up where we left off in Part one and we still see Meisie trying to resist and fight off Cillian, but in a way, she is becoming more and more immune to him. Cillian doesn’t realize it that he is slowly falling for this chick because he has never felt this way towards anyone before. The struggle between Cillian and Meisie is intense and all over the place with tension and drama, but the one she is most afraid of is Cole. There are so many twist and turns while Meisie tries to rationalize her attraction to the man who had her kidnapped, but we get to see different sides of Cillian he shows no one not even his brother and it makes you fall in love with him too. At times I wasn’t sure which direction this story would take or if I would get the ending, I wanted, but the author’s brought everything together nicely. The world of Cillian is dark and cold, but through glimpses and Meisie we see his humanity shine through.

This book started a bit differently then i expected. I kept trying to figure out Xoke and Kiliian. I wasn't connecting to The characters because I wasn't understanding Cole. Then there was a weird transition between part one and two. However, once in part two, the book clicked.
Filled with suspense, intense scenes, and a chance for the characters to progress, individually and together. It kept my interest until the very end.

A rappy book deserves negative reviews
I'm supposed to enjoy a book when you think romance is catfishing the prim Minster daughter ,get her to club take her to apartment drug her,take pictures, take her home...where your dope head brother has fitted a porn room for you to rape her on film.And you discuss snuf filming as well cause her mom might not back off unless you do more and what's one girl to their way of life? Shell suffer only little bit .......and you go along with it .
Yea criminals would do that but this is supposed to be romance .What little respect I would have had for this was lost on the acid brothers plan and his twin acting like the really is no other choice in it but to do what he said after all their criminal activities are at stake.
Its called redeemable writers .See it doesn't matter what happened at the end .He was ok with raping her for his brothers plan and didn't say no to the snuf film.I mean his brother was willing to sacrifice himself and rape her ...great couple guys yes ?
Not happy with writers lately writing rappy books and calling it dark romance ..so it would go like this ...
Hey guys! I met your farther when he drugged me blackmailed granny took me to porn room with the intention to rape me on film and possible do a rape snuff film ...yea it was rough in the beginning but we made it through 😁.
😒 yea that's a convo I want to have with my kids .
And I forgot to add .....she gets turned on .why it's just amazing how the bad guy always get the girl that when you do bad things to them they get .....turned on .As if writer is setting up the excuse as to why these women fall in love with abusive men 🙋
And can I say with disgust that they wrote the cocaine head suggested rape and snuf film brother his own romance ...I mean what's not to love about a man that SAS hell rape the girl for you if you can't ?
I worry about some of the reviewers... Slot give 5 stars to rappy books and excuse the actions cause they end up together yes I worry

This is so dark and delicious! Cillian and Cole are owners of a club called Asylum, but their main job is dealing drugs. They are in a struggle to keep a recently elected First Minister from legalizing drugs because they would not only lose the empire they have built, but the taxation of the drugs, if legalized, would be astronomical.
Cillian catfishes a nineteen year old girl, Meisie, on an internet dating site with the intention Of enticing her into his club. Posing as a young Justin Beiber lookalike, aptly named Justin, Cillian pretends to be a bartender at the club. When Meisie doesn’t see Justin, she wanders around the club until some fresh-faced boys druggies try to accost her. Watching it all from his 6’6” height, Cillian comes to her rescue and offers to buy her a drink. As a naive young girl, Meisie agrees to have a drink with him. Then she notices that the taste is off. That’s when Cillian tells her she’s been drugged. He laughs and says he was just kidding and she breaths a sigh of relief, until her head begins to spin and she passes out cold. She has just become a pawn in a scheme to stop her mother from legalizing drugs!
Meisie is a feisty 5’1” girl who gives her captors hell, but these men won’t be deterred from their mission and have plans to break Meisie over and over again, then and remake her in their own mold.
Hang on, because the action is beginning to heat up in this series!

Loved it
This was a really well written story! I absolutely loved the writing! For me, it felt relaxed and comfortable. And sarcastic. Some of the one liners, and the attitudes were just brilliant.
Maisie and Kill don't come together in the traditional way, as Maisie gets kidnapped by Kill to get back at her mum.
Maisie has gone through something terrible in the past and has been trying to move past it when she was taken.
Kill soon realises that things aren't quite going as planned. Both him and his brother were damaged. They were such unique characters. How Kill viewed things sometimes was sad. He's been starved for love and affection, so he has no clue what these emotions are.
Maisie was great. She may have gone through a lot, but she really was an incredibly strong, incredibly resilient FMC. These two together really did bring out the best in each other. The changes you could see throughout the book were amazing. I love how soft he turned toward Maddie.
This was a slightly different take on a Mafia type gangster story, and I enjoyed it.

You will laugh and cry.
This is the first book in the Cruel Heroes series by Ariana Black, which is the joint pen name for authors Logan Fox and Esme Devlin. The book is a stand-alone, but the story is divided into two parts; part one was previously published as Fearless by Esme Devlin and Logan Fox.
Cillian (age 32) and twin brother Cole run the drug business off their nightclub Asylum in Scotland. There is a new law being passed to legalize drugs that will affect their business. Enter Meisie (age 19) who is the daughter of politician leading bill. Kill (nickname of Cillian) follows Cole’s plan to kidnap Meisie. Kill is attracted to her right away and Meisie is fighting her own battles. There are some nice steamy scenes and eventually the HEA you like to see.
I was not as engaged with the story at times since it felt choppy. Maybe since 2 authors did write it. I didn’t really like Meisie’s character who I felt was too difficult at times.
Beautiful Secrets is book 2 that Logan wrote solo.

Amazing
There r some triggers for this book dub con ,drug use, and violence..but I love the ride this book took u on!! love meisie she a great heroin a very outspoken and funny, she had some bad things happen to her but trying to move on from that .. I like how she wasn't afraid of Cillian ... And what can I say about Cillian he was a great hero a bad boy who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it... Love the whole peaches thing idk y but I do!!! Cole is Cillian twin I loved the relationship between the brothers there back story is just so heartbreaking and shows a lot why their the way they r.. Cillian is his brother keeper because Cole reckless and dangerous...the ending with the twins just just broke my heart... holding out hope cole will get his own book because I feel like he would make should a good broken damage hero.... Read this book

Excellent captive dark romance.
Meisie just wants to get past all the bad things that happened in her life and try to get back out and date. She decides to go to Asylum, a nightclub where some guy she met online supposedly works. Too bad she's been catfished by the owner of the nightclub, Cillian "Kill" Hendry. He ends up kidnapping her and locking her up in his dungeon. Cillian and his twin brother, Cole are trying to get Meisie's mother to kill a bill that would make drugs legal and ruin the Hendry brother's business. This is a great read and I highly recommend it.

Confusing
I loved this book, I truly did. It was very well written & drew me in from the start & I did have trouble putting it down. So what is my problem with it? Simple, this book did not seem to know if it was British or American. Sometimes it was Mum ( British) others it was Mom( American). Then we had dollars & not pounds & finally there was panties & pants. So if you can get your head past that then don't miss out on this book because it is really worth a read.

Loved it
I absolutely loved this book The story just hooks you from the start I loved the characters and the way they evolved , looking forward to reading more about cruel Heroes I live outside Edinburgh and it was great to just get carried along to Craigmillar Castle and the Restaurant in the warehouse part of Edinburgh which I think was The old Whisky Bond in Leith ,at least that's where my imagination took me enjoyable book

There are triggers.
There are triggers in violence and drug use. I like Meisie. Learning about her past shows how strong she really is. Cillian is determined to help Meisie overcome her pain. I did not expect the second book to take some of the turns it did. I did not expect what happened with Cillian and his twin Cole.

Dark, gritty, good
It was a dark, creepy, very sexy and complicated, which I love. The female lead had so much inner conflict, cleverly written as internal dialog with her ex-therapist. Some really good wit throughout too.

Excellent book
This story was extremely interesting and, at times, very violent. But absolutely mesmerizing. I couldn't put it down. The characters were very deep and broken, but they managed to crawl out of the pits they were in and find a place of peace and love. Loved it.

Double trouble with a hea
I really enjoyed this book and it's characters.I really was unsure what Would happen next and couldn't predict the ending.It's a hot,rough around the edges ,twisted Scottish tale.

Totally Strange 😁
This story was completely different from what I was expecting 😃. You wonder how a set of twins can be so completely different, let alone psychotic 🤔. Thanks Ariana, Esme & Logan I truly enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more 🤓.

Dark! Page turning!

Cillian is a marvelous antihero, he is a complicated person wanting love but at the same time not feeling like he deserves to have Meisie’s love, can be the cruelest of men but he is struggling with it because he doesn’t want to be that kind of man all the time towards Meisie.
Meisie is still a bit naive but very strong and resilient, she is trying to figure out her life even in captivity and at the same time trying to escape but falling for him, things get messy because she wants Cillian but fights her desires because of who he is.
Cillian thinks he wants power but in doing so he may have to lose her. Will he do right by her? Her mother was a surprise, she was not what I thought she would be.
The plot only thickens and gives us a lot of surprises from each of the characters on the book, nothing is as it seems.
Great ending to the book, the characters are not simple at all and they keep you very entertained.
