” Great sequel. I loved the first book and this one takes of running. I am an ancient aliens fan and I get a kick out of all the intrigue. “
I'd love to get in contact with my readers so don't hesitate to drop me an email.
I received this book as part of ARC team and wanted to give an honest review. This book has you gripped from the start to finish. It’s 007 type no nonsense action packed, the story line and characters work well, a small team with lots of fire power. Exceptional piece of writing and I look forward to the rest of the series.
This Action/Adventure thriller is very well written. Hugo's brother is shot by an assassins bullet and while his brother is in the hospital fighting for his life Hugo, along with a team of his brother's coworkers, takes up the hunt for the culprit. There is more but don't want to add spoilers. Great job Filip Forsberg for another well written book. This is a voluntary review. Revenge is available on Amazon
I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
I stayed awake until 4:30 am in order to finish this heart stopping, fast-paced, exciting book. The protagonist in the story is a smart, experienced ex-military man who is seeking revenge against the people who ordered an attack on the company where his twin brother worked. In the attack his brother, Felix, was seriously injured and fighting for his life.
Hugo chose to go after those who had planned and carried out the attack, vowing death to those who attempted to kill his beloved brother. The action moves quickly after Hugo heads out to find the killers. With the help of his brother’s security team he heads off on his vengeful mission.
In the meantime, those who tried to kill Felix and his fellow workers, were now intent on killing Hugo. And the chase is on. The assassins have a much larger reason for their attack with everything set up to happen in 24 hours. Hugo’s team are ingenious in their ability to use technology to their benefit and determine their next steps in order to stop the goal of these vicious killers.
The action is intense, the characters are intensely real, and the writing is skillful. If you love action packed adventure, out of bounds heroes, and strong villians, you will love this book.
I appreciate that the hero's and heroines often need a fortuitous event to survive and that characters do things and escape death and destruction that has no real explanation how that happens, but this book goes beyond a good story line. Event that are measured in distance and time just don't work. For instance the hero and his group are describe as entering UK are space in the north and can see the lights of London. Never been there, but my geography lessons won't let me believe this. The real dichotomy is that High is discharged from the military because he has a rare condition that causes him to feel no pain yet he is in pain for the last half of the book. Go figure. I can't entertain the nanobots thatt are directed to specific parts of the brain by external computers. A writer must have some latitude in writing an entertaining story. For me it was not entertaining.
Revenge is a book for those of us who love action. There is at least half of Revenge that is pure action and suspense. There is no way to stop reading Revenge until you finish it. The writing is Filip's best and so is the whole book. I can not imagine that this book should not get to the top of the charts. Something wrong with Bookbub that is not allowing 5 stars. If I could give my own number of stars it would be way beyond 5. This is a must read for action aficionados. Make sure you have time to read all of this book as you will not want to stop.
Filip is a good writer. I have read several of his books and Revenge is another great story. Hugo has a very rough 24 hours in which he has to try to save some scientists. I like the different tasks he takes on and the team he works with!
My only issue was that at times the sentences don’t quite make sense to me until I flip a word or two around in the sentence. This caused a few stops for me until I reread the sentence to figure it out.
When his brother, Felix, calls him and he hears automatic weapons fire, Hugo Xavier runs to the rescue. On the way to where Felix works, Hugo calls the emergency number and get's help to come in time to save his brother from his gunshot wounds. From there, Hugo is targeted by the man who shot Felix. Hugo, who is ex-military and highly trained gives the shooter a run for his money. Hooray for heroes! This story is exciting enough that anyone who likes action and lots of it, will love it!!
If you want lots of action this has it. Hugo Xavier resigned from the special forces in Sweden, but takes on his brother’s role as lead of a securities firm after his brother is injured on a raid at the firm’s headquarters. What follows is a whirlwind of action as he works to revenge his brother’s assailant.
A fantastic read that grabs you from the first page to the last. Its a fast past read with epic scenes, the scenes are written so well that I can picture them in my minds eye. This is a real page turner with twists and turns that keeps you enthralled with this read. I definitely recommend this captivating read. Its a must read. Shauna Joesten
I know…if you don’t have anything good to say blah blah blah. However, this book was unbelievably unbelievable. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how a guy can be shot two different times in the same day, run all over the country and fight to the death. I know this is a fiction book but this is one cmon man!
very interesting reading with plenty of action Hugo's brother Felix gets shot by any assassin and the company he works for wants his to replace Felix. Hugo wants revenge so he takes the job but it may be more than he can handle. Will worth reading.
This was a very good book. Hugo Xavier is at it again, bringing his action packed talents into play. It's never a good idea to get on Hugo's bad side - going after his brother is a mistake of epic proportion. Spent many a late night reading this one. Definitely would recommend this book!
This was a great book, I enjoyed it. The action grabbed me from the beginning of the story to the end. The characters are wonderfully written. I can't wait to see to what happens in the next book in the series. I was given an ARC of this book and I am happy to write a review.
Hugh is a machine when it comes to action. He is non stop. I know someone with a condition like his so it was kind of neat to read about it. I enjoyed this book tremendously
Not my normal read, but well worth reading. Excitement, intrigue, and a family revenge story. Very well written and excitement from the first pages to the last.
Unbelievable. This was one outstanding story. Hugo’s brother is killed and so he gets involved in finding the killer. Plenty of action and suspense to keep you involved. Well worth the read.
Not my usual type of book, but liked the storyline. Fast action and well written. Bought the next 2 to follow on the storytelling. Looking forward to reading them.
