Level Up: Elevate Your Game and Crush Your Goals

Rate this book
Leveling up is the only foolproof success strategy. It means owning your responsibility for taking control of who you are, what you do, and what your life will become.

This book is written for the men and women grinding it out every day at work and wanting so badly to be more valued and get to the next level.

It’s for the young professionals entering the workforce with big dreams who want to know exactly what it takes to advance in their career.

It’s for anyone who has wanted more out of life but just hasn’t been able to make the shift to take control of their future.

Many books teach you the steps you need to take to change your life. But they’re missing the critical foundational action that is necessary to ensure your new habits stick—the one element that distinguishes high-achieving professionals from those still waiting for success to find them. Most people know what they should do, and yet they don’t do it. The fact is that it does not matter how much you know—nothing will change for you unless you own the responsibility of leveling up.

Alyson Van Hooser has discovered the crucial knowledge you must have, actions you must take, and areas of your life you must own if you want to shift the trajectory of your professional life to work in your favor. In Level Up, you’ll learn the secrets to professionalization and the exact steps required to gain respect, increase opportunity, and harness the power to crush all your goals, including:

- How to lay down your law so you don’t get off track
- How to get ahead by identifying and strategically adapting to what motivates individuals in different generations, from different social classes, with different life experiences
- How to make your emotions work for rather than against you
- Ways to make networking impressive instead of awkward
- What self-care truly means (hint: choosing YOU and your goals)
- And much more!

Be bold. Make your own hype. And be accountable to the grind. Success and growth are often uncomfortable, but you’re not going to crush your goals by sitting idle, doing the bare minimum, and following the herd. It’s time to LEVEL UP.

Over the past twenty years I’ve written and published five books. In doing so I’ve discovered sharing lessons I’ve learned with others is a real thrill. Now I’ve discovered a new thrill — sharing lessons with others that my daughter-in-law has learned!

Alyson Van Hooser’s new book, Level Up is now available at booksellers everywhere. Level Up is a collection of practical lessons, proven strategies and gripping stories, each addressing real life, real challenges and ultimately, real success, with unflinching honesty and candor. And I'm urging all my friends, my clients and my followers -- YES, YOU — to order a copy today! It may be the most impactful book you read this year.

Level Up is certain to make you think, reflect, plan and act in ways which will make you more thoughtful, more intentional, more appreciative and more successful. Level Up is more than a “feel good” book. Level Up is a “do better” book! And don’t we all want to be and do better?

I finished reading the first 3 chapters last week. This book is due for release on June 16th. I'm looking forward to reading the remainder of this book. As life changes happen we are faced with decisions and challenges that may make us consider reevaluating our goals.

Alyson Van Hooser’s book is exactly the kick in the pants I needed to take responsibility for the outcomes in ALL areas of my life, even though its focus is professional success. Some of the key lessons that I found very valuable were the sections on learning how to adapt one’s communication strategies to suit different leadership/personality styles and on using one’s emotions to drive, rather than inhibit, one’s success. Alyson does a deep dive into generational differences, social/cultural differences, and individual differences in order to help the reader understand what motivates people (and how that differs based on every unique communication situation!). Her personal stories were incredibly authentic and engaging, and her voice as a writer instantly puts the reader at ease.

One of my favorite anecdotes from the book, “drama doesn’t just walk into your life, either you create it, invite it or associate with it.” Level Up by Alyson Van Hooser.
While she may be young in years, she is wise, mature and spot on in many many facets of her professional advice and guidance.
There are many great examples of her personal and professional perseverance and how everyone can grow no matter where they are in their career or journey.
Thank you Alyson for sharing how to #crushyourgoals💪 set your stake in the ground and own your success.

So much truth in this gem!

Alyson pours out her story in a way that makes you realize you can overcome anything when your mindset is positive and you set your goals. This book is awesome because it tells you the way to go after your goals without dancing around and gets to the heart of it. I truly believe if more people took accountability for their actions, they would be happier and our world would be better. This book encourages that. Well done, Alyson!

I won this book from Goodreads. It wasn't what I expected. I thought that it dealt with direct sales and it's more for people in corporate world. Ms. Hooser gives sound advise on moving up in the corporate world. She gives examples of life experiences. She is open and honest. A good book to read.

Getting to learn about Alyson’s experiences in life and in business made this book worth your while! I really enjoyed her views on how to own up to who you are, but also the tips and steps into becoming the best version of yourself. I will be putting so many of her guidelines into my daily life as a young professional straight out of business school!
