Yet another fairly realistic book that includes a non-consensual sexual assault/violence scene between an employer and an employee that in the 21st century US would land the H in prison under assault/harassment charges. I'll also that in this particular scene, the H was more bothered by the fact that the h had defended herself against another man who had told her “Listen here, little filly. Women are only good for two things. Fuckin’ and cookin’. My guess is that you’re only good for the first," than he was with what the man had said (again, sexual harassment; look it up). That the h then falls for a man who is just fine with this kind of misogyny is due to the magic of fiction and not to plausibility.

Ugh!
This could have been a great story! It had all the right ingredients-frustrated girl, dominant man, mystery. The jump right in there spanking and border line ass raping was ridiculous.
There wasn’t any build up or anticipation. The Hero was more harsh and mean than dominant and the Heroin just came across as a bitch. I should have read other reviews first.

Piper Stone delivers another captivating story in her “A Rough Romance” series. It is a dark and twisted romance with a side of mystery and suspense. The characters are complex and nicely developed. Dr. Alex “Alex” Harding takes a job working on site of oil rig, she needs to look out for the health and safety of the men, or so she thinks. When the head boss Riley “Big Rig” Cooper comes on site and he learns a doctor was hired, Alex, was not expecting Alex to be a woman, a feisty, hot headed bossy woman. He had to deal with her the only way he knew how with discipline. The two were off to a rough start but she learned quickly who was boss.I liked how their relationship started to grow, they both had their own secrets and issues, but suspicious are raised when things start happening on the rig. Could they trust each other or are one of them involved and part of a larger scheme. A lot goes on in this book, it is a fast paced story and is cleverly plotted so there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, some mystery, twists and turns, thrilling suspense and some hot kink that leads to a hot romance. Piper Stone, thank you for another terrific story and thrilling & emotional rollercoaster ride. It was great to see Jack make a cameo appearance, nice to hear he and Summer are doing well and expecting.
I listened to the Audible edition, Thomas Locklear is a talented narrator and voice artist. He brings the characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. He grasped the persona of each character and performed each role with perfection. He switched roles effortlessly never missing a beat. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

This book by Piper Stone was different than i expected in so many
ways.It has mystery,danger,murder,angst,secrets and so much more.
I initially disliked both Alex and Riley for different reasons.Alex was
determined to never allow any man to get the better of her again.She
was rough and could put a man down with one punch.Being the only
woman on a oil rig brought many challenges.Alex was the new Doctor
for the Gulf Pride Rig.Her first meeting with her new boss was a very
painful and memorable occasion.
Riley was one dominant,delicious man who ruled with a iron fist,or
should i say,a belt.Riley had the a troubled past, and the wieght of
responsibility for the safety of those working on the oil rig weighed
heavily on his shoulders.There was trouble brewing and he needed
to get to the bottom of it before it blows up in his face.
There was much more to Alexis then i first realized.Her hard exterior
was proection against her damaged past.She allowed Riley to see
her vulnerability.She opened her heart and prayed that she would
not be hurt again.She was his to protect.She was his to discipline.

The loud voices and arguing reach his ears before he sees any of them. But what he does hear is a woman's voice at he heart of the argument and boy does she sound like she needs punishing!! What a spoilt little madam!! What gives her the right to tell his men that she can close down there rig. Alexis Harding thinks she is something else and Riley needs to put her in her place quickly.
Alex had worked so hard to become a Doctor but something happens that leaves her with nearly no options. So when she clashes with the crew she goes on the defence but that didnt work out too well for her when she meets Riley. The latest book, “Big Rig: A Rough Romance,” by Ms. Stone, has us heading out to the middle of nowhere, Texas, to immerse us in and among the seasoned and green-behind-the-ears roughnecks working on an oil-drilling site. Immediately, we are drawn to the tiny but fierce and feisty site doctor Alexis, who is going head-to-head with an obnoxious roughneck named Breaker, who has voiced his archaic viewpoint on the worth and only two purposes of women. Just as Alexis swings and lands a punch to Breaker’s jaw, the new foreman, Riley, arrives to witness the roughneck fall to the ground, and the surrounding workers are egging him on to retaliate. After Riley breaks up the fighting and disperses the crowd, he summons Alexis into the privacy of his office trailer to discuss her behaviour. Alexis is spitting angry at being the one singled out and decides to give Riley an ear-full. While he listens to her rant, Riley comes to two conclusions that Alexis is in need of some long-overdue, over-the-knee discipline, and he is just the man for the job. Alex is the on-site doctor for Riley's drilling operation. He has a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to obeying the rules, as she finds out within minutes of meeting him. This story is totally addictive, and I could not put it down. Right up to the end, I was still guessing who was a good guy and who was a bad guy. Every little bit of information that was revealed moved one character or another into the other column. I didn't personally like their initial encounter - she was "coerced" into what happened. (If she had tried to resist more, I might have labeled it as non-consensual.) But everything else that happens between them is entirely voluntary. And hot AF. This book has it all - lies and deceit, mystery and suspense, job-site sabotage, an FBI investigation running parallel with an investigative reporter's research, trust and mistrust. This is my first read from this author - I'm gonna be looking for more from her.

This started with Dr. Alexis Harding meeting the crew of the rig and punching out one of them with one punch. Riley Cooper has been hired to bring this crew together and find oil quickly. All Riley finds in the beginning is Alex and he feels she needs strict discipline. I will say that their first meeting is a sexual harassment/assault charge waiting to happen. Alex believes that she deserves it and allows it. As they get to know one another, they find that they are meant for one another. In the meantime, they need to find the answers to the mystery. Everytime I thought I knew who did what, I was wrong! The author keeps us in suspense until the end. I liked the story and I wonder if Darcy, Alex's friend, will get her story told next.

The plot is suspenseful, well-written & intriguing with well-developed, strong-willed characters that have good chemistry between them & as they grow emotional closer they actually complement each other.

5 no 10 gold stars is what this book needs. Big Rig will leave you wanting a very cold shower just reading a few chapters in. You will cheer on Riley and Alex as they work hard to find out what is happening at the rig. It will leave both of them and friends in danger, but they love that is between Riley and Alex will not go away but just grows more and more intense as will the punishment that goes will it but Alex thrives in the pain and pleasure knowing Riley will love her even more; as will Riley know that Alex will do the same. This book gets better and better as you near the end of it with three surprises too. This book is really made for adults how love Erotica and with a lot of punishment that mixes will in the story. I really can't wait to read book #1.

He just happens to come in during an altercation between her and another worker. She is there as a doctor and Riley Cooper wants her to know her place. In fact, he decides at first sight that her "place" is right next to him or under him. He is a dominant and the thought of turning her bottom crimson is too much to pass by. This was a hot read with danger and mystery. The first decision they need to make is are we doing this and the next is can they trust each other. Hot.

Big Rig is the second book in the A Rough Romance Series,by Piper Stone, yet it can totally be read as a standalone. Riley is THE alpha male, rough and in total control of everything and everyone in his life, to include on sassy, smart mouth doctor, Alex. Alex is a sassy, smart mouth out of control doctor trying to get away from dad's world and anyway she can. When the two come together in the middle of a west Texas oil field they make the temperature soar higher than the Texas summer. Piper Stone has given us another no holds bar alpha romance, full of hot steamy scenes and a story that has you hanging on the edge wanting more. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good alpha romance.

Only to be read at home !
WOW!! This is a fantastic read but make sure you are home when reading it.
The action is hotter than an oilrig fire as Alex and Riley almost set the screen on fire as he quickly shows her what she has been needing for a long time. Two people who protect themselves with walls of steel that melt quicker than the punishment makes Alex orgasm.
Riley really knows how to treat his woman, esp when she has disobeyed him. Alex knows she needs a strong, demanding man who will make her toe the line... but then again many of us do. She is just lucky to have been claimed by Riley.
The Texas oil-drilling storyline is also good.

This book is the standalone sequel to Roughneck (which is still on my TBR), and I don’t feel like I was missing out by not having read it. Riley has been hired to be in charge of an offshore oil rig, and is in charge of over 200 men-and one female doctor. The way this book starts is crazy! Alexis is out of control, whereas Riley is all *about* control and discipline. There’s lots of fighting and heat but no trust between these two in the beginning. As the suspense in the plot increases, so did my cheering for these two intelligent characters acting with integrity. Loved the way it got tied together in the end.

If you've read "Roughneck", then you have some idea of what to expect. If not, then you're in for one heck of a ride. These alpha oil-riggers are VERY dominant and the heroines? The heroines are so strong-willed, a bit bratty, and only give up their submission to a deserving dominant. That's what we get when we meet Riley and Alexis, aka Alex, on an oil field in Texas. The scenes are hotter than blue blazes, the chemistry is off the charts and the danger and intrigue of the plot will keep you flipping pages trying to put pieces together and see where Piper Stone takes us next. This is a great storyline and I hope there's another one from the crew.

Will if you like HOT STEAMY BAD GIRL NEEDS A SPANKING AND A DADDY DOM THAT IS A HUNK HUNK HUNK LOT OF LOVE then this book is for you. Follow Alexie Harding. ( Doctor ) and Riley Cooper (Boss Form Man ) on a task to bring in oil from a oil field that is dryed up but may not be. As it goes showing respect to the Boss and your fellow workers can be hard if not a challenge for Alex she is HARD HEADED SMART MOUTH AND VERY INDEPENDENT and she don't like to be ordered around by NO MAN. So what is a Boss to do call her in the office and dish out some good old punishment. You need to read and find out the rest and why someone is out to stop the black gold from coming in.

This is a great read that is full of danger, corruption, discipline with one hot roughneck and a mouthy doctor. Riley has contracted to supervise a new oil drill and has his hands full with a fairly green crew and a mouthy doctor. Determined to see that all safeguards are followed, Alexis becomes aware that things are not quite up to par and Riley has his own suspicions. The interaction between the two of them is hot which means that Alex usually ends up getting spanked and then thoroughly loved. It is a great read, full of action and discipline. I would highly recommend this book.

Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. This was a great book to escape with. If you are looking for a swoon-worthy romance or realistic romance this is not that book. If you are looking for a book with a very alpha man who isn't ashamed to spank and dominate his woman just right then this is that book. It has some incredibly hot steamy scenes and an interesting story to go with them. It was a great book to help me get away from it all for a while. I enjoyed this book just like I have many others from this talented author.

Some sexy scenes but also formatting issues
I ended up skimming this one to get to the intimate scenes. Riley is a big hunky guy, but Alex is simply ridiculous. What kind of doctor worth her Hippocratic oath goes around decking grown men when she's frustrated?! It's just a weak plot device to justify spanking. After a while that got old too. Plus, the author consistently misuses words. Just because it sounds good doesn't mean it makes sense! After I found a bunch of duplicated paragraphs (editing/formatting error), I gave up.

What kind of doctor worth her Hippocratic oath goes around decking grown men when she's frustrated?! It's just a weak plot device to justify spanking. After a while that got old too. Plus, the author consistently misuses words. Just because it sounds good doesn't mean it makes sense! After I found a bunch of duplicated paragraphs (editing/formatting error), I gave up.

This is one exciting story that kept my attention. This is dark, steamy, erotic and is action packed, with mystery and lies. Who is trying to sabotage the oil rigs? Is this a set up to discredit Riley? who to trust? Is Alexis part of it?
Add Thomas Locklear as the narrator you are ready for a great listen. As usual, he is superb in his narration. His deep, commanding, sexy, voice brings all the emotions, erotic passion, excitement, to each character. Thank you for a great listen. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

Couldn’t put it down...

In addition to mechanical issues, Dr Alexis Harding, the site Doctor, seems to have a chip on her shoulder the size of Texas and is causing problems with the men. Riley straightens her out by showing her he is the boss and the penalty for disobedience is strict punishment...

Ms. Stone's books have become one clicks for me. Her stories are always hot and sexy with some alpha men and strong, feisty women and this one is no different. I loved the connection between Alexis and Riley. He's rough, tough and totally in charge. The two set each other on fire but there is danger around. Just when I thought I had figured out who one of the bad guys was, it twisted. This story kept me reading and I loved every page of it!!!

Intense. From the very beginning, this book took me to a place I was not sure I was ready to go. But it was well written and drew me in...page by page until I realized I was far more invested in the book and the characters, Ales and Riley, to stop reading until I reached the end, and then I was sorry I was finished with it. I will be actively seeking more books by Ms. Stone.

Romantic and exciting
Great love story with lots of danger and excitement! Loved the relationship between the two main characters. The oil industry is tough and the men and women even tougher. The doctor and the supervisor of the rig meet and sparks fly. Also clothes and hands. Lol.

Hot damn Piper adds some extra heat in this story...
Riley Cooper a roughneck takes on a rig crew but also takes one the feisty camp Doctor Alexis Harding.
But with bad feelings, sabotage, corporate greed, suspense and drama interlaced with spanking steamy scenes made this book hard to put down..

I loved the story because it has the perfect balance between the romance part, with all the power exchange elements, and the suspense and mistery parts. It's a great resding, no doubt. The spanking scenes are uber hot!
Riley does not know what job he loves best, but he will get there.
He is so alpha that it was impossible for Alex to resist!
