So listen. Look. I am a READER, right? I mean, I read all the time, everywhere, every day, a book a week. But most of the time the book I'm reading is a dull throb beneath my fingers, a soft hum behind my eyes, a lovely way to spend a bit of time in between things as I meander through my life. You know? It's something I adore, but softly, passively, and often forgetfully—very nice while it's happening, but flitting away quickly after I'm on to the next.
And then sometimes there is a book that is more like a red hot fucking coal, a thrum nearly audible whenever I'm close to it, a magnetic pull that stops me doing anything else and zings me back so strongly that I just want to bury myself in its tinnitus at all times—five minutes in line a the bank, two minutes in the elevator, thirty seconds while my coffee date checks her email—gorging myself with sentences and paragraphs until the whole world recedes and shrivels into flat black-and-white nothing.
This, this, this is one of those books. If you love to read and if you love to care about the characters you read about and if you love to eat words like they're ice cream and if you love to have your heart broken and mended on the same page, this book is for you.
Both Chasin and Genevieve have experienced betrayal, this is their story of finding a little light in the dark and moving on. Putting past mistakes behind them and helping each other to deal with past events. It’s raw, it’s beautiful and you’re going to want to spend some time visiting with them. This book gives you the opportunity as a reader to view betrayal and heartbreak from various viewpoints and I think it’s so important to give you an understanding of how it can change a person without them really knowing it or why. It’s hard for both the person and the people they are closest to. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned in equal measure. This book also includes a little intrigue and I wasn’t surprised by the eventual outcome, for me, it could only have been one person.
There’s just so much I can say about Riley Edwards and her writing. She's just…she’s amazing, I will literally read anything she writes. She just nails it every freaking time. And I’m so glad for the day that she was recommended to me, and this is what I love about this book community, a person can rave about a book and it can be someone you’ve never read before, maybe, never even heard of, you pick up that book and it’s like diving down a rabbit hole. You just become so fascinated with a person’s writing and they become a gem to you. That’s what Riley is, she’s a gem. She’s a gem in that she writes books that I can devour, that I will stay up till I'm done even if that’s 2.30 am in the morning! She’s an author that when the book lands on my Kindle at 4.30 am I’ll open it and start it because it can’t just sit there, I need all the words!! She makes you fall in love with these characters so much that you cannot bear to be apart from them. It’s astounding, and to have talent that can do that – it amazes me. Riley Edwards can write anything and I’ll read it…because of the way she writes no matter what the subject, it’s more than entertainment for entertainment's sake. I love that, and basically, I love her and I’m going to move into her house and stalk her for the rest of our days.

🦸🏼♀️ Heroine: Genevieve “Vivi” Ellison
Genevieve Ellison—known to the world as Vivi, a chart-topping country music sensation—isn’t just taking a break in Kent County, Maryland. She’s unraveling. Fame came at a cost: isolation, exhaustion, and a hollowed-out sense of self. Despite her success, Vivi feels invisible, her accomplishments echoing in a vacuum. Her retreat to her uncle’s riverfront home is less about rest and more about survival. Raised by parasitic, alcoholic parents who leeched off her grandparents until they were cut off—her included—Vivi now has wealth but no warmth. Her emotional detachment runs deep; she’s drowning in silence, desperate to be truly seen.
🦸🏻♂️ Hero: Chasin Murray
Chasin Murray, former Navy SEAL turned private security operative with The Gemini Group, is no stranger to emotional armor. He’s watched his teammates find love and stability, while he remains adrift—loyal, capable, but quietly lonely. His upbringing in Ohio left scars: a manipulative mother and a father too weak to confront her betrayals. Chasin’s moral compass is rigid, especially when it comes to fidelity. He despises cheaters, and that hatred runs deep. He’s built a life of discipline and control, but beneath it all, he craves connection.
🔥 Plot Snapshot
When Chasin spots a woman tumbling into the river, instinct kicks in—but Vivi doesn’t need saving. Their chemistry is instant, electric, and emotionally charged. What begins as a spontaneous connection quickly turns intimate, with days spent tangled in sheets and shared vulnerability. But when Chasin overhears Vivi telling someone named “Bobby” that she loves him, his world tilts. Old wounds resurface, and he projects his mother’s betrayal onto Vivi. Furious and heartbroken, he walks away, convinced he’s been played.
A week later, irony strikes: The Gemini Group is hired to protect a country singer from a stalker. Chasin is assigned the case, and guess who the client is? Vivi. He’s bracing for diva drama, but what he finds is a woman far more complex—and far more honest—than he gave her credit for.
❤️🔥 What Worked
• The emotional misfire between Chasin and Vivi is compelling. His assumptions, her silence, and the slow unraveling of truth create a satisfying tension. • The stalker subplot adds urgency and stakes, elevating the story beyond the typical star/bodyguard trope. I usually steer clear of that setup, but this series continues to surprise me in the best ways.
🤨 Room for More
• I would’ve loved a deeper dive into Vivi’s music as a form of emotional expression—how her art reflects her inner world. • Chasin’s emotional pivot felt a bit abrupt; a few more beats of internal struggle could’ve made his arc even stronger.
🎧 Narration Vibes
Told in dual POV with narration by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon—two of my go-to favorites. Arden’s gravelly, emotionally textured delivery is tailor-made for Chasin’s brooding intensity. Mallon brings warmth and vulnerability to Vivi, though her Southern accent wavered at times. It wasn’t distracting, but it did pull me out of the immersion here and there. Still, both narrators brought depth and nuance to the story, elevating the emotional beats.
📝 Final Thoughts
This installment blends emotional miscommunication, trauma recovery, and romantic tension with a dash of suspense. It’s a story about being seen—truly seen—and the courage it takes to let someone in. If you’re into protective heroes with emotional baggage and heroines who fight to reclaim their voice, this one’s worth the listen.
I liked that Chasin and Genevieve had a connection from the start and hated how it ended. Chasin was an ass, no way around it. Sure he had baggage, but so did Genevieve, which made it a very slippery slope for them to walk, it also didn't help/hurt who Genevieve really was. I liked that Chasin flat out told Genevieve he was wrong and why he was wrong and that he would do all he could to win her back and protect her. I loved the role that Bobby played in things, and how her relationship to Genevieve went back to what it was.
Genevieve finally found her place with the Gemini gang, loved that after all was said and done what they all were able to create.
With every book, this author continues to get better and better. I'm glad I didn't wait until these books were in KU and purchased them instead because they are well worth the money. This cast of characters, their charm, the connection, and the chemistry is fantastic.
Loved Vivi and Chastin. They were perfect for each other. And their connection?! To die for. I loved Bobby too. I can't wait to see what's next.
Oh sweet Chasin 🥰 I couldn’t get enough of Chasin and Genevieve! These two knew exactly what the other one was feeling. They had such a special connection from the moment they met! I absolutely loved every little thing about them! They were each other perfect match! ❤️ Can’t wait to read all about Holden next! ☺️
This book might’ve been good, I don’t know. But when the two main characters have to use very vulgar cursing every other word every time they have to be passionate about something it loses all appeal. I’m not even against cussing in the right situation. But when you have to tell me “you are so f***** beautiful you don’t even god***** know. F*** I love you” etc. too much! And not just once or twice, the entire book
Yep, Riley Edwards has done it again. Another great book that if you’re a fan of military/security, protective alpha and a little suspense, you’ll have to read this series and her books. Genevieve and Chasin met when she fell of a dock and he was kayaking. They hit it off and it was a magical weekend for both of them. But because of a misunderstanding they went apart. And then because of a stalker they are back together and they are thrown together. Both main characters have a troubled childhood and trust issues and that’s the main reason of everything. Love this story. The main plot is their relationship and how they are trying to fix their issues. Love the suspense and I was on the edge of my seat as always in Riley’s books Now....about the secondary characters and future books.. Bobby was my favorite in this series. She was awesome and can’t wait to read her book in the future (hope very soon). Holden’s I think is next and I think it’s going to grip our hearts. I really..reallyyyyy can’t wait.
I've been reading most of the books one after another and I think I need a break. After reading Chasin's story, I feel like the formula for all the previous books are just too similar. I think we could pretty much replace any of the previous male or female characters quite interchangeably and it wouldn't change/detract from the story at all. Chasin and all the guys so far are all the same. I get they could be similar, but it just feels like they are the exact same characters, which after a while could get a bit boring. I think there was a bit more repetition, especially in the inner monologues that made parts of this story boring as well. I'm going to take a break from this series and come back to Holden's story refreshed because I'm looking forward to that story. Hopefully it'll be a bit more different.
Chasin and Genevieve met one weekend when she fell into the river while he was kayaking. They spent the weekend together and it was instant lust and instant love until a misunderstanding broke their hearts.
What Genevieve appreciates about Chasin was that he didn’t know she was a country mega-star. He saw her as Genevieve, not Vivi Rush.
Genevieve has a dangerous stalker, and her label employs the Gemini Group to keep her safe. That’s when Chasin finds out who she is. Things are rocky between them for a while. The danger escalates and includes Chasin. *** There was a lot of angst and analyzing childhoods and feelings, which got old. But otherwise I liked Genevieve, Chasin, the suspense, and seeing the characters from the previous novels. Holden’s story is set up at the end.
Chasin's Surrender is such a sweet story. It starts off unlike any of the other books. Right away Riley Edwards provides passion, a plot twist all within the first chapters and this is the perfect gateway for all the suspense that follows.
Chasin and Genevieve's story had me in tears. I was either laughing from all the wise cracks between the casts. Then I was crying from all the heartwarming moments.
Chasin I think he's probably the funniest of the Gemini men. You can't help but love him. Genevieve is my girl, she's bold, fresh and crazy. She's easy to connect with. Together these two are entertaining and I devoured their story.
Once again Riley did a great job. Love this series have read it several times. Really enjoyed reading this story, flows through I couldn't put it down, I did not want it to end either. I Love all her books, gets you hooked and you don't want to stop reading until the end, but you also enjoy re-reading them too!
Exceptional Story, Series & Narration🎧 Amazing Characters too!
Chasin’s Surrender Gemini Group, Book 5 By: Riley Edwards Narrated by: Joe Arden, Erin Mallon
Riley Edwards pens another winner of a novel set in her “Gemini Group” series, featuring another amazing member from the team of former Navy Seals. Each book in this series features a different member of the Gemini Group team, their stories stand on their own but it would be beneficial to enjoy them in the order written, the epilogue introduces you to the next book and lead character for that book, plus characters crossover into each other’s books and seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. This fifth book is Chasin Murray and Genevieve “Evie” Ellison’s story and it is another action packed, romantic suspense that will keep you on your toes and take you to the edge of your seat. The book is hard to put down because you need to know what happens next. Genevieve, a country music star, is staying at her uncle’s house to stay out of the limelight, when she falls off the dock a hunk of man comes to her rescue and it surprised her he did not recognize her or even know who she was, which was a pleasant surprise. Chasin was at the right place and the right time and he thinks he met the woman of his dreams. They spent a memorable weekend together, a steamy hot weekend, but his insecurities get the best of him and he blows it, and she wants nothing to do with him. Genevieve’s stage name is Vivi Rush, and she has a stalker who is escalating his threats, the real reason she is hiding off the grid, the cops have done nothing for her so she and her manager, Bobbie, who is also her best friend, decide to hire the Gemini Group to investigate. She was not expecting to see Chasin there, since they never discussed their jobs. When Chasin learns what is happening with her, he puts himself on the case, it was then that he realized how big he screwed up and he is hoping she will give him another chance and forgive. Bobbie says she does not do second chances, but she encourages him to try, and he is not about to give up on her. The chemistry between those two was smoking hot, and it was great to watch them get to know each other and open up to one another. Despite her fame and fortune, she is lonely and has her own insecurities, but Chasin saw her for who she was, not her stardom or stage persona, just Genevieve, or as he calls her Evie. With the Gemini Group on the case, they figure out who the stalker is, but catching him was another story. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, some angsty, mystery, thrilling suspense and a steamy hot romance. Riley Edwards, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are doing an amazing job performing the roles of the characters, they have been humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality and are believable in every role they play. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance and make you feel every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
Chasin was an asshole alright, calling Vivi a "lying cheating bitch" wasn't cool at all. Projecting his mommy issues on her was a jackass move. His apology didn't even come sincere at first (imo), then he had the audacity of being a steamrolling twat when he realized his mistake. Then he explained why he acted like a jerk and expected probably that she'll understand and forgive him. Gosh! I want to sucker punch him for just being a judgmental prick.
For all Chasin' stupidity at the beginning, I did admire his efforts and dedication to prove that he was sorry when he realized how truly he fucked up. It was commendable when someone knows how to humble themselves when they recognize they made a mistake.
But make no mistake about Chasin, as much as he was genuinely sorry for what he did, he never toned down his protectiveness towards Vivi's safety. He was an alpha through and through, at times borderline annoying but still domineering MMC nonetheless. I had a love/hate relationship with his steamrolling but I'm glad that everything worked out well in the end.
Vivi
I can only imagine the pain and hurtful things she went through. How people continually used her fame and money or how they didn't care for her at all. It was also annoying at the start why the people included in her circle would hide the things concerning her safety. Ignorance isn't a bliss all the time and I would've wish for Vivi to have all the information regarding her stalker even if it makes her uncomfortable. With that at least she wasn't clueless as to the level of threat in her life. She should be given her own choice to decide what actions to take with regards to her own safety.
She was no doormat in the story. Proud of her for holding her ground and didn't forgive Chasin easily when he apologized to her. It was admirable reading how she faced her issues and grow from them. I loved her passion with singing and songwriting, I did see how much she enjoys this part of her dream.
But what I loved the most was when she fixed her relationship with Bobby. She knew she hurt and pushed her away. It was so satisfying how they mend their friendship and went back like the way they were before. Real friends are hard to find and we have to do everything to keep them in our lives.
Overall, this was an okay read. There were mystery, action, and suspense. It was thrilling, has a good writing style and story flow. But this doesn't have to be 500+ pages, it was too long and could've been 100+ pages less if the over description at some chapters were cut. It felt dragging at times and I'm ashamed to admit I kept checking my reading progress. I didn't skim but I was bored at some scenes. This was still an okay read, I'll still recommend this if readers doesn't mind a long book.
oh my goodness,Riley Edwards you are a superstar this is one of your best books yet I absolutely loved Vivi and chasins story. you managed to catch depths and pain in what I think a superstar would experience. I know there are a lot of celebrities that just roll with the cash and the notoriety but I also know there are a lot of grounded humble famous people out there and it was good to see your take on one of those types. Genevieve started off much like silver and Macy and I thought oh no we're going to get another stubborn heroine but it was just a matter of breaking through some walls that were different to Silver's and different to Macy's. the overall tone to this romance was a little different too and it was nice to have an alternative take on a relationship. as for the narrator's.... what can you say about perfection . Joe Arden is his awesome self as usual and Erin mallon you, you wonderful person are so fast becoming my favourite narrator I absolutely enjoy listening to your voice when you sang, it surprised me as it was the first time that I've actually heard you sing in a novel. as for Riley you're absolutely fabulous you're right up there with Susan Stoker and kris Michaels... I just love all your books that are on audible I just wish the next generation would come to audible in a hurry and of course I'm looking forward to and Jonnys story. I expect Holden is going to be a tricky character to write as he is carrying on an eight-year heartache and that is not going to be an easy fix so in saying that I think the heroine is going to be one feisty lady. so excited can't wait. I'm also hoping audible brings another of your series to the table..." the next generation " so looking forward to listening to that series and their alphas andbheroines. thank you for a great great story.....
Chasin's Surrender by Riley Edwards is another great addition to the Gemini Group Series, this is a fast paced exciting story full of suspense, drama and plenty of steam. Chasin Murray is a sexy, strong, confident man that takes risks with everything he does, but the one thing he hates is cheaters. When he rescues sexy Genevieve Ellison when she fell into the river, these two spend a weekend together filled with so much heat and passion, that Chasin feels that he has finally meet his match with Genevieve. When he over hears a conversation that Genevieve is having he thinks the worst, confronts her and leaves never giving Genevieve a chance to explain. All her life Genevieve has been dealing with low self- esteem and lack of confidence due to the way she has been treated by others which has impacted her life making her feel unlovable and rejected. Little does Chasin know that Genevieve is country star Vivi Rush who has been hiding out at her Uncle's cabin due to her being harassed by a crazed stalker, he will be shocked when he finds out the the Gemini Group has been hired to protect her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Riley Edwards has become my favorite author to read. I look forward to all of the books she puts out and I am never disappointed. She has this amazing ability to make it difficult to choose a favorite series, let alone a favorite couple. I do have a favorite, but 2nd place changes with each book I read or re-read. With that said, Chasin's Surrender is amazing. Chasin and Evie are my new 2nd place couple in Riley's world! Riley gives a front row seat to the story being played out. And honestly, it FEELS like you are there actually watching it as opposed to reading the pages.
Like with all her books, I was lost in the world of Gemini Group (again), this time with the story of Chasin and Evie. They had an amazing weekend together until a misunderstanding pulls them apart. It isn't long before they meet again, this time for Genevieve's protection. As they learn to re-trust again and break down barriers that were put up because of past betrayals. Chasin won't let Evie hide within herself and pull back, he demands she be the woman she was meant to be. And when she finally gives into it, you really feel that true love can get you through anything. Once they have both given in, they support each other in ways that they always needed but never had that person who was the one to do it.
Chasin Murray is part of the Gemini Group. He's a protecter down to his very soul. He's tough when it counts, but in the back of his mind he wants what most his partners have, the love of a good woman. Hopefully, she'd overcome his wretched childhood. Genevieve (Evie) Ellison feels she's been unlucky in a lot of things in her life, including an empty childhood. But when she accidentally meets Chasin she believes her luck has changed. But when things go awry she shuts down and he runs. When fate, or the fact the Gemini Group is the best at what they do, intervenes, Evie and Chasin are brought back togther. He realizes his bad assumptions may have cost him Evie. Sje just wants to hide. Considering she has a very high profile life, she hides a lot. But at the moment the stalker she has after her is providing a good reason to hide. The Gemini Group takes Evie and her best friend Bobby under their familial wing. Protecting her and investigating who her stalker could be. And, for all that, Chasin does not pass up his second chance with Evie. They are a wonderful, loving and honest couple. Add them into the colorful, charming and intense Gemini Group and you have a story that sucks you in and makes you want to stay. I understand completely why both Evie and Chasin surrender to each other.

This is a book that is about putting the scars of the past behind you. Both Chasin and Genevieve had childhoods that scarred them deeply. When they meet, they fall in love before they really know each other and because of that, Chasin mistakes a phone call as something it’s not. He destroys the budding relationship without asking for clarification first. When Genevieve re-enters his life as a client of the Gemini Group a week later, he realizes his mistake and knows he’ll have to work to fix what he’s broken.
Genevieve’s scars run deeper than Chasin’s, she doesn’t let people in and doesn’t give second chances. But when she finds out why Chasin reacted the way he did, she realizes sometimes forgiveness can be worth the risk.
Chasin is determined to earn Genevieve’s trust and eliminate her stalker. Their chemistry is undeniable and their connection is unbreakable. Genevieve’s whole life is changing and with Chasin at her side she realizes what’s been missing.
I loved this book. It was a little bit of love at first sight with a good dose of groveling and suspense on top of that. The men of Gemini Group are something special and I love that all their partners become secondary characters as the series progresses. Holden’s plight has been featured in every book in this series so I’m glad we finally get his story next!
Riley Edwards books keep getting better and better. Just when I think she can't top her last book, she goes and proves me wrong. If you are a fan of military romance, suspense, and a protective alpha male then look no further than Chasin's Surrender. It has all that and more!
Chasin and Genevieve meet when he rescues her after she falls of a dock while he was out kayaking. They spent one amazing weekend together but are split apart after a misunderstanding. Flash forward and they are thrown together again when a stalker is threatening Genevieve. The Gemini Group is hired to help track down and catch this threat.
Like I said before Riley Edwards's books keep getting better and better. Chasin's Surrender is my favorite so far in the series. I wouldn't be surprised if the next in the series becomes my favorite. I can't wait to dive into Holden's story and then Johnny's. While the books set a new bar for the following story to soar over, Joe Arden and Erin Mallon's performances keep topping the last. They never let their listeners down. They add some much to these characters, not Chasin and Genevieve but also to the side characters. I can't wait for them to bring the final characters of the Gemini Group Series to life.
I adore the start of this book, as an intro to the characters it blows me up, and then it just gets better and better.
Joe & Erin do another amazing job with narrating this book, bringing all the emotions to life including the uncomfortable ones that make you wince at the rawness of them. When Evie wants to hate Chasin that comes through, when Chasin harbours regret for his actions, you feel that too.
From lust to love to hate to distrust to acceptance to love this book barrels it’s way through all the feels a couple could possibly have in a compressed timeline (a given if you know anything about these men, when they know, they KNOW!)
I love how Chasin was so hyper aware of who Evie was and when she was being herself and when not. I loved how Evie didn’t just roll over and stood up for herself. I loved her relationship ship with Bobbie, as well as with Holden too…so sweet
Another couple goals for me, this book is written and narrated so perfectly.
On to the book with truly all the emotions next, I’m bracing myself for this on. Bring it on Holden….

I really enjoyed Chasin and Genevieve's book. I loved the connection these two had immediately. Even though it was pretty much an instalove, it was written so well that it felt believable. Genevieve was so happy and relieved to meet Chasin and realizing he had no idea who she was. She was just Genevieve, she could be her true self. But Chasin jumped to conclusions when overhearing her on a phone call and he basically threw it all away.
But when Genevieve's safety is being threatened, the Gemini Group is there to figure out the culprit and protect her and her friend. This means Genevieve and Chasin and put in close proximity, where truths come to light and they can each understand the other better. It takes a while but Chasin is able to earn Genevieve's trust back.
Erin Mallon and Joe Arden once again killed it on this book. I have loved them in this series. I loved Erin's southern accent in this book and we get to hear her sing a little bit which I loved. Joe has a great southern accent as well. These two can do no wrong in my mind. They truly make listening to these books an experience not to be missed.
Chasin’s parents especially his mother were horrible people. To have your son watch men in and out of the house destroyed his trust in women and fidelity. Evie seemed to have the world being a country artist. But she two had horrible parents that destroyed her trust and self esteem. An unexpected meeting of Evie falling off her dock and Chasin jumping out of his kayak to save her led to the best weekend ever for these two. Love at first sight. Due to Chasin’s trust and the name Bobby coming off Evie s lips breaks trust and leads to misunderstanding. Evie being stalked and Gemini group hired to protect her and find her stalker brings Evie and Chasin together. Sparks fly, a lot of explaining, tears, anger, new trust emerges. Bobby is kidnapped, Chasin threatened, Holden shot and holding on by a thread, Brent out to kill Evie all explodes. Cane everyone be put together and cone back on top. The men of Gemini Group and their women seem to have special powers, can they save Holden from himself?
Genevieve Ellison fell into Chasin Murray’s life when he was out kayaking. They had a perfect weekend together and both were struggling to understand how “perfect” things were going until Chasin made an assumption that left him breaking her heart. Genevieve didn’t plan on having her heartbroken even if it made for great country songs. She was seeking distance and solace from a stalker while trying to continue to write her next album not knowing how much danger she was truly in. Her best friend Bobby is entertaining! I have to say listening to this book only made it better because I didn’t have to imagine the characters with their own unique accents. This was another great book in this series. I love a series and characters that you learn about and grow as their story develops. It’s no surprise that I am falling in love with each book in the series. Riley adds actions, steam and real-life drama into her stories that have me unable to stop listening. I hate to take time to leave a review before starting the next book!

Riley adds actions, steam and real-life drama into her stories that have me unable to stop listening. I hate to take time to leave a review before starting the next book!
I'm not sure what to say..I loved Chasin's Surrender, I have had a strong attachment to Chasin through the entire series, and his story is wonderfully exciting,,, Genevieve or as Chasin calls her Evie, is such a country super star, but so full of self doubt, she can be herself with Chasin because he dosent know who she is..but someone else wants Genevieve and those she loves become the target of a stalker, this book takes you on such an emotional journey with Chasin and Evie, but the connection between them is so strong, there is also Evie's best friend Bobby and she has sass and attitude galore, she is a tiny little thing but she will fight for her friend! Both Chasin and Evie have had horrible childhoods, this just brings them even closer..this is my favourite Gemini series book! And I can not wait to see what Riley Edwards has in store for Holden's book..5 stars plus!
OMG! Another exciting and intense story by Riley! This story is about Chasin and Evie! Chasin didn't know that Evie was a super country music star. When he overheard her taking to her best girlfriend Bobby, he just to the conclusion that she was like his mother - a lying cheater. She was far from that. Each had their issues with their parents but as the story progresses, we find Evie has a different persona when she is in public. Then we find out who her stalker is. Then Evie's best friend is hurt and Holden is shot and Evie retreats in to herself until she find out that Holden is going to pull through. Evie then surprises Chasin with a total renovation of the farm house he recently bought from Nixon. Now that the threat against Evie and Bobby are over, Evie and Chasin work on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Riley! I would recommend this book! Can't wait for the next book!
I’ve said this a few times and I’ll say it again....I’ve only recently discovered Riley’s books but I am literally devouring them as they are sooooo good❣️They are filled with romance, suspense and second chances when the man makes a mistake...because we all know they do😜
Chasin meets Genevieve when she falls off the side of a deck whilst rearranging some deck furniture. They are instantly attracted to each other and spend the weekend together and getting to know each other better😍 Unfortunately, as a man is known to do - he misunderstands a conversation and leaves without an explanation😢 Now, Gemini Group have been employed by a record label to protect a well known Country singer from a stalker and Chasin just about swallows his tongue when he realises who the singer is😱
A fabulous story and I’m counting down the days to find out what Charleigh has been trying to tell Holden and why she’s moved closer to him and the guys from Gemini Group❤️
At first the storyline felt slow, with more tell than show. It felt angst ridden by both leads and there were times I wanted to shake the pair of them. The last third of the book more than made up for the slow start and I totally could not put it down even if the house was on fire. There were points at which I cried and others where I chuckled and I caught myself grinning like an idiot more than once. The editing in this book was faultless, no grammatical errors or missing words but there were one or two words misused, not pointing those out because they don't detract from the storyline. There are some sex scenes each of them appropriate and loving. Obviously I will be purchasing the next book, Holden's story, if only to complete the series. As a side wish, I seriously hope Bobby and Jonny get together. The characters are believable and endearing.
