Fae's Destruction

Rate this book
Brea Robinson is a prisoner. Granted, her prison has gilded halls, servants, and an aunt intent on throwing a lavish wedding. A wedding for Brea. Fae marriages are unbreakable, everlasting.

As Brea barrels toward her forever prison in a marriage to a man she doesn’t love, the three Fae kingdoms are thrown into turmoil. But no matter how close Queen Regan’s enemies get, it won’t be enough to save Brea from the fate she chose.

Some sacrifices result in death. Others only make you wish for death.

Brea didn’t surrender herself to the powerful Fargelsi Queen for nothing. She saved her best friend and found the missing princess. She said goodbye to the man she loved so he could reclaim his throne.

Everything has a purpose, everyone has a role to play and if marrying the wrong brother is hers, at least she’ll help bring an end to this war.

Because Queen Regan O’Rourke might be family, but her rule is over.

It's time for a new generation to unite the Fae.

Honestly when I started this book I didn’t think I could appreciate Lachlan and Brea’s relationship any more than I did in the first two books but holy shit lol I really did.

Also THE ENDING BRUH!!!!!! Good lord honestly this book sent me on a loop and constantly on the edge of my seat the longer that I read the quicker I wanted to finish the series to see where everything goes.

This series is crazy addictive!!

To save her best friend Miles from captivity Brea has returned to Fargelsi and her power-hungry aunt, queen Regan. She's not kept in a prison cell in the dungeons, but Brea is still nothing less than a prisoner. She's supposed to marry Griffin O'Shea, Lochlan's brother, and produce an heir. A fae marriage is for eternity and can't be dissolved, but Brea feels that she has no choice if she wants to protect the people she loves.

I finally got the story behind Brea's and Griff's marriage! This first trilogy in the series also gave me a better understanding for Griff in general, and know I almost want to re-read the other books! But I won't do that (too many new books to read), I just have to settle with already knowing how he fares in the prison realm of Murkur. Having read the later books I of course knew that Brea would marry Loch, but it was still a sweet and enjoyable ending!

Fae's Destruction picks up pretty much where book 2 left off. So the emotions start from page one!

Lochlan is crowned King on the battlefield after defeating his Uncle, yet he feels very alone without Finn, Brea or Alona. As a result, he's let his feelings go cold to match the ice that surrounds him since their departure. One of his first acts as King is to re-establish the ties with Eldur, and his surrogate mothers, the Queens, are arriving with a delegation to sign the peace treaty, which eases his mind and heart a little.

Brea, by her own choice, is trapped in Regan's Palace and is forced to go along with the Queen's plans to ensure her friends stay safe. Whilst being held prisoner she does make friends with her new maid and being with her is what keeps her sane and fighting. Brea has agreed to marry Griff but it isn't until after the ceremony when she learns what being married really means.

The Armies of both Eldur and Iskalt meet at the magical barrier to break it and defeat the evil Queen. Their purpose is to not only save their friends but to save the people that have been trapped there. Over a series of nights, they work hard to accomplish this goal, which is not easy, but they do get some unexpected help....

I've loved this trilogy! There aren't enough words to describe how much I did. This book especially has been so captivating & engrossing. I found that as soon as I finished one book I had to pick up the next installment!

The character's connections, friendship & familial bonds, were perfect. They grow in each of the books and learn where they fit in the world. The banter and jokes they share are hilarious and they really provide a bit of lightness when needed. There are a lot of emotions flying around so prepare yourself but enjoy!!

This was my least favorite book in the series. It was okay, but Brea made so many stupid mistakes and didn't think through anything.

I liked Brea's growing skill and the tension between her and Griffon was really interesting too. Lochlan became a little too noble for my taste, but I liked his relationship with Miles.

The book had a weird ending. But I didn't hate it.

This was a great ending to this series. It’s been a wild ride. We learned so many new things in book two and in this book everything comes to play. This book had much more action than the first two books but I absolutely loved the new secrets we learned in this book. The character death in this book killed me. It’s something that no one will even expect so I’m not even going to count it as a spoiler.

In Fae’s Destruction, they are set to go to war with Fargelsi. Our main character is a prisoner being forced into a marriage with her true love’s brother. Did someone say drama!

There’s so much that happened in this book but I can’t mention much because it would spoil it for you. I’m just trying to wrap my head around it all. There’s a thing that was mentioned towards the end that made me confused. We never really know what it actually was. It makes me wonder if this series is actually over with this book.

The only thing I wish that this series had more of was romance. I wanted to see more of it. But if I’m not wrong M. Lynn is trying to have a clean brand that is okay for everyone of all ages to read. There’s a bit more violence but if your looking for a romance that’s a bit more detailed than this book isn’t for you but if you looking for a book series that’s super quick to read and have fae in it then this book is for you. Good luck putting the book down once you start reading.

THE HOLD THIS BOOK HAD ON ME!

Is it the most original fae story ever written? No.

But is it veryyyy addictive and makes you go through a roller coster of emotions that makes you want more? YES!

I am very surprised I loved a YA story that much. The characters growth and their relation are so beautiful. The author CAN write emotions in a way you feel them at the same time as the characters.

Lochlan has my heart 🤍

The best thing is, the 4th book is about Griff 🥹🥹🥹!! I am so happy to know what happens to him 🔥

I love this series! It’s well written and with each book it just gets better and better! This third book is fast paced and non stop action packed that will have you gripping the edge of your seat! It’s magical, full of suspense and a little sass as we embark On this epic journey filled with a rollercoaster of emotions, I found myself with my heart in my mouth more then once and I absolutely love Brea. Questions are answered though there are a couple of loose ends maybe a spin off series in the future??? This is a truly epic finale to an epic series.

What a way to end the series. I just couldn't put the book down. I loved watching all of these characters grow. Especially Douchey Loch 🤣. I do believe this was the most intense one. My heart swelled, I cried, and I laughed till my checks hurt at times. Very well round I hate to see this world come to and end I will sure have to revisit it one day.

OMGosh the conclusion! MY HEART! This was an epic conclusion to this trilogy! I thought my heart was going to burst. So many emotions to share with each one of the characters. Some characters were easily loved and some...not so much. I just couldn't put it down. And the twists! I still don't know what they mean! More books perhaps? I hope so! Love this series!

I received an eARC of this book via the authors. This did not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

What a ride! Fae’s Destruction by M. Lynn & Melissa A. Craven is the final book in their series Queens of the Fae and picks up right where the last book left off so buckle up for an emotional rollercoaster from page one. I laughed, I cried, I raged, and yes, I even swooned. Fae’s Destruction is a nonstop, action packed, emotionally charged story that will leave you breathless by the end. Please note that this is book three and there may be minor spoilers to the previous books in the series from this point on. Read at your own risk!

“Brea Robinson is a prisoner.” Brea finds herself right back where she started, a prisoner of Queen Regan in Fargelsi. This time is different. Brea knows exactly where she is, who she is with, and why she is there. This girl is not the same that we met in book one. She is fierce and will do whatever is necessary to protect the ones she loves, even if it costs her own heart in the process. My heart broke for her over and over again with each sacrifice she made. As a result of her trade for Myles and Neeve, Brea is cut off from the world outside of Fargelsi. With no news of her friends and family, Brea has nothing but hope to cling to while her aunt plans a wedding to the wrong O’Shea brother.

“Douchey” Loch is now king of Iskalt. Everything he thought he’d lost as a child is now his again. But it isn’t all he wanted. He wanted Brea with him, ruling beside him. Instead, he receives word that she is married to his brother. Lochlan breaks my heart in this book. He is understandably hurt by Brea’s decision to save her friends, but he doesn’t fault her. Instead he begins strategizing how to save her. That is until the news comes that she married Griff. Now he’s lost, heart broken and defeated. I hated seeing him like this. But I’m not the only one. Brea’s friend Myles basically adopts Loch, and I love him for it. Now I see why Brea loved Myles so much.

Griff is still not to be trusted in my book. I wasn’t sure what his long game with Brea was. Clearly she wasn’t okay with marrying him. Yet, Griff went through with it anyways and acted hurt that she wasn’t happy. What kind of guy does that?! Griff’s charm and looks have worn off from the first book. I really wanted to like him, but the authors gave me someone to dislike, even if it tore a piece of my heart to do so.

The plot does not lag in this book. While book one set up the world and book two was nonstop action, Fae’s Destruction rules on emotions. Don’t get me wrong, there’s quite a bit of action, but the emotional rollercoaster takes center stage. I love the alternating point of view between Lochlan and Brea. This gives us a clear picture of what is happening in Fargelsi and the rest of the Fae realms which also reflects Brea’s internal struggle with her magic.

Overall I couldn’t sit Fae’s Destruction down! I loved every word and did not want it to end. I’m hoping and crossing all my fingers for a spin-of series (Pretty please 🙏), featuring a certain character. It could work…I’m just saying 😉 If you are a fan of Fae, YA romance and fantasy, you are in for a treat. This series is beautifully written from start to finish. I enjoyed the ride, and I’m sure you will too.

War, Death, Destruction & Heart Break!!💥💔😭
(complimentary ARC given without any pressure or expectations placed upon me!)
Fae's Destruction (Queens of the Fae #3)

Lochlan is crowned King on the battlefield after defeating his Uncle & his Troops!👑 He feels very alone without Finn, Brea or Alona.😢 He has allowed his feelings to go cold since Finn & Brea left him, although hearing his two surrogate Mum's are arriving with a delegation, to sign a long awaited peace treaty, relieves him greatly!😍

Brea is now trapped, by her own decisions, in Regan's Palace & within Regans plans that she has agreed to for Myles & Neeve's freedom!!😢😡 She meets a new maid who she bonds well with though, so she does have some small amounts of relief from Griff & the Crazy Queen!!👍 On the arrival of a big day for the Queen, her maid manages to acquire Brea a few bottles of wine so she can make it through the awful, heart crushing event!!🍷🌸 She later finds out she was even more tricked, trapped & used than she'd ever imagined!!💔😭 She vows to escape somehow!🙏

The Armies of both other Fae Realms meet at the magical barrier to try & break it. They want to rescue both Princesses the King but also free it's people from the evil Queen!👑🙏💥 They receive unexpected help.😉🎉
This all ends as it should for most! I must warn you that not everyone will make it though!😲😭

I've devoured this trilogy, it's been so captivating & engrossing that as soon as I finished & put each book down I had to pick up the next instalment!📚😍 The character's connections, friendship & familial bonds, were sublime.
I would have preferred a more detailed ending for Brea in the epilogue than the epilogue we actually got!! But then I was treated to a wonderful surprise ... The Author's had included two bonus scenes!!🙏😍🎉 I don't know if these will will be added extras to newsletter subscribers or if they'll be included in the e-book, but let me just say that they were EXACTLY what I was hoping for in the original epilogue, so all is forgiven!!🙏👑😘💕

This is a superb set of books, individually & as a trilogy!🌟

This one had some inconsistencies that became frustrating. And errors like, a person saying something but that person isn't there, so I'm not sure which character actually said the thing. The writer sometimes seems to mix up proper sentence structure which makes me pause and go over it until I realize some words are misplaced. I'm not sure if that's just how the author writes, if it was missed by an editor, if there was an editing process, or if its done to try to make the fae more flowery. But since it happens with every character, it makes me feel like the author just doesn't understand proper sentence structure. In the grand scheme of things, they can write however they want, of course. But the writing fell flat for me.

I got tired of hearing Brea's full name. No one talks like that, saying a person's full name over and over, then switching to her preferred new full name without her ever saying it was her new preferred full name. It diminished the times full names were appropriate to say, which made formal events feel unimportant.

The story is fine, and I'm struggling with wanting to know how it all ends and sighing at the amount of books there still are because Brea annoys the crap out of me. She's a selfish character who doesn't fully take blame. This thing wasn't my fault! But there were enough people giving hints and outright saying there were things she didn't know, she just thinks she knows better. She's always been a run away and does what she wants person because it's what she wants. She can see what she's doing and how it could kill the people she loves the most and does it anyway. She never learns from her mistakes and no one holds her accountable. Then she says, oh well I couldn't help it. While other characters are trying to coach her to calm tf down and think. I roll my eyes so hard at so many things, I just don't care about her. I feel no connection to any characters, really. But her, I don't see why people like her. She does things for herself, and everyone loves her? Why? These grand speeches? Not moving at all and weird in how they are delivered, why they are, and why some information is relevant to the speech.

Even when heavy prices come, everyone's like, oh well, this really important person is gone but it's fine. There isn't much depth to the characters, so there's little room to feel for and care about any of them. It's a case of interesting story and plot, but lackluster characters who are just there, constantly being run over by this reckless person.

I'm also tired of the nerd tropes that only focus on a handful of books and movies. Then the over talking about the same books and movies like they're the only things that make up someone who likes certain genres. It feels forced, uninspired, and like a certain audience is being picked out while the rest are excluded.

Now, this isn't the authors fault, but I also ended up listening to this on Spottify and the way they do audio books made the listening experience so frustrating it's another reason I struggle to want to read on. First, with a listening limit. The good thing was, when I came back to the book, there is so much repetition I was able to remember things I forgot because of that. Repetition can be annoying, but with a forgettable book with forgettable characters, it helps. Then Spottify would take me from chapters 22 to 12, 23 to 6. It was incredibly frustrating, and I don't recommend listening to books on Spottify after all of this. But I will probably listen to the rest this way if I continue because I won't have to waste audible credits.

4/5**** New Adult/coming of age, PNR , Faery, Politics/ power

A bitter sweet ending to a not for Disney story. After all, true Fae tales are less than happy because The Fae are all a bunch of lawyer-types. Each individual is trying to get the best deal they can, but don't we all? There is no such thing as simple kindness in the Fae world, at least not for royals in this story, much as Brea would like it to be so. She rages against the truth of royal children are pawns until they learn enough not to be. This seem true for everyone who gives up their power to another. This is in sharp contrast to humans who have the illusion of freedom.
The Fae lives in these three parts that make up this store are both cautionary and seem to illustrate many wise sayings passed down over time from adults to children, who never really understand them until they go through the experiences in their time.
Nothing is free. Life is sacrifice. From the effort or other payment we put in to acquiring the things we need or want to the possibility lost by deciding on a course of action. These are truths of being an adult. Actions are not without consequence (weather sober or drunk). Always read the fine print weather it is a contract or the food we eat. As an allergy sufferer this is a big one.
As for Brea's character I can empathize with her during some parts of the story. As a mother I can empathize with the parents hopes, actions and willingness to sacrifice for their children in hopes that their children grow into self- sustaining individuals. Maybe life IS a Faery tale, just not a Disney musical. Which brings me to, it is up to us to be happy or unsatisfied with our lives. Are we counting our blessings or only tallying cost?

Poor Brea, since entering the Fae world and discovering her true heritage she has suffered nothing but misfortune. She needed time to discover her true feelings about the people who are her true family but will it be to late? At the end of book.2. I thought she had finally met everything crappy that could happen to her. Boy was I wrong. Not only will she agree to anything to keep her friends safe from the threats of Queen Regan, she is tricked once again by her. Book.3. ties up all the loose ends the series has given us but not without tears as we watch Brea suffer more and more. Battles, Kings, Queens, Heartbreak, lose, Devastation and Magic surrounds her as she struggles against the deception of the magic twisting her true feelings. She finds an unexpected friendship and familiar ties drive her against her bindings. Through all this running outside the barrier is the great personality of Miles who is like her double buoys up even the most miserable of characters giving him some of the hope he had lost, giving the reader a smile now and then as his one liners make us smile. Each realm believed Brea would be the ultimate weapon to bring peace to the Fae Realm but could she be there ultimate destruction? Michelle Lynn & Megan Crewe have delivered a series that completely absorbs your mind, attention & emotions, and accomplished a sensational storyline together. Individually I have been a great fan of these authors, so I can definitely recommend reading any book they produce. With there success in the Queens of Fae series I certainly hope they work together again. Maybe there was a hint in the epilogues of a future series? I do hope so.

❛ He’d been wrong before. Lochlan O’Shea might have had ice in his veins, but his heart… that was full of fire. Of Brea. ❜

3.5 STARS ✨

Fae's Destruction was honestly just the definition of angst with a happy ending. Once again, with the fear of sounding like a broken record, it is easy to guess what's going to happen ahead, but sometimes you do just need a read with an ending that makes your heart feel happy and characters that speak to your soul.

I just really enjoyed everyone's interactions: Myles and Lochlan was a highlight, they were hilarious, but in general, any interactions between Brea/Lochlan/Myles/Alona/Finn in any kind of combination had me living my best life to be honest. If there were more books in the series that focused on purely their story, I would be sure to devour them, but I do think that their stories concluded well and I honestly am not too interested in reading any kind of redemption for Griff, I was happy with his ending in Fae's Destruction oops.

There was a certain revelation in the series that I was like 'oh my god, the convenience, it's too much, please, no' — and I did find it a little bit cringe, but I understood the need of it for the sakes of the plot and the conclusion of the series. But, yeah, I'm sure it's something else that other readers loved.

This series was definitely an addictive one, and I'm glad that I picked up the audiobook for Fae's Deception on Spotify. If you want a heartwarming, quick and easy fantasy series to glide through, the first three books of Queens of the Fae are certainly a go to.

Ok so this book would definitely get more stars if I was able to do that. Books that can make me cry tears of joy, sadness, anger and pretty much every emotion under the sun will always get a 5 star rating.

So much happened in this book that tied so many things together. Brea deserved everything she gained by the end of the books and I can’t wait to possibly find out more about where her and Lochlan’s story goes in the next three books.

Absolutely love how the three kingdoms are now united through blood in one form or another and hope they continue to flourish and grow and become even closer.

Lochlan will forever and always be thought of as the grumpy ice king, not with a heart of ice but one of fire. Fire for the woman he fell in love with as a teenager and continued to love and support no matter what the fae realm through at him.

Neve and Alana are two of my favorite female characters next to Brea and I couldn’t be happier about how their stories are coming together by the end of the book.

Griffin came to have a special place in my heart even though his ending was one that made everyone who ever knew him forget he ever existed. I’m hoping for an even bigger redemption for him in the following trilogy.

Miles and Finn are minor characters that honestly played some of the most important roles throughout all three books. Every hero needs a sidekick that will tell them how it is and keep them true to themselves and that’s exactly who and what they are for Brea and Lochlan. I hope to hear about more of them and how they’re doing in the coming books.

Rating 4.5 stars!

Oh my goodness, this was such an emotional rollercoaster! Like both the other books I couldn’t put it down, the whole trilogy was captivating and gut wrenching! Each time I finished a book I literally couldn’t wait to read the next.

The character relationships, friendships, discoveries and betrayals are what make these books so special. The writing is brilliant and the world is beautifully created, leaving enough room for your imagination. Fair warning, this book will make you feel all kinds of emotions - shock, pain, heartbreak and longing! This final instalment of Brea’s story is fast paced, action packed and emotionally powerful.

I’m so glad the authors included two bonus scenes after the epilogue, I hope these are included in the paperback and kindle versions (I was sent an ARC) as I think they wrapped up the story nicely for the reader (I won’t say anymore...no spoilers!).

This trilogy is an absolute must-read for anyone that loves epic fantasy adventures, sexy Fae and tales of kingdoms and royals. It really has been a pleasure to read and I will definitely be reading this series again! I don’t think I can let go of Brea and her family, so I’ll just have to buy the books and keep them with me forever.

I was given an e-ARC of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars

I legitimately cried when the chapter after the resolution of the war passed. Brea feeling empty and feeling like she was missing something, Griff, broke my heart. As much as I wanted to hate Griff for his false sense of reality and undying loyalty, I couldn’t fault him. He had no one growing up except Regan and then Brea. It broke me to see him accept his fate so easily and yet it felt right.

Brea entering into a marriage with Griff was frustrating to read in the best way. I was feeling everything Brea felt. Alona’s presence throughout the book was like an anchor to caution Brea. Neeve being Brea’s sister was a shock but for the best because she was already a loved character by myself. I am glad that she ends up with Myles in the end. Myles is literally the quirkiest character and he grew on me because he never lost his spark.

Lochlan being king of Iskalt was an internal battle for himself of closing himself off to the world from heartbreak but also being the most accessible to his people. I love that he stood up for Brea when he realized that Brea entered her marriage with Griff drunken and unaware of the consequences. But I think what I love most about Lochlan is that he never tied Brea down to be a version of herself that was idealized.

I am interested to see where this series goes as it will follow Griff. I hope that I love this new set of characters.

Fae's Destruction, the third book in the Queens of the Fae series by M Lynn and Melissa A Craven, is the perfect end to such a beautiful series. It's packed with even more emotions than the first two books. It makes you feel every emotion, from anger, heartbreak and shock to ugly crying because you are so happy for the characters you've grown to love!
At the beginning of the book Brea makes a deal with Regan and trades herself for the freedom of Myles and Neeve while Lochlan defeats his uncle and becomes the new king of Iskalt. Brea is kept at the palace of Fargelsi and has to marry Griff. The only good thing about that is meeting her kidnapped sister Alona. Together they escape and help the troops of Iskalt and Eldur to bring down the magical border around Fargelsi, so they can finally defeat Regan for good.
All of the characters developed so much during the book, I love them even more than in the beginning! It was great to accompany them during their suspenseful journey and I couldn't bring myself to stop reading. So if you read the first two books in the series you just have to continue! You're going to enjoy it so much!

I so loved this book, this series. Every moment reading was intoxicating, but in a good way.

This is another journey that is sad to have completed . But it’s also one that I will revisit from time to time.
It had everything going for it. Magic, mystery, twist in the storyline, definitely passion but not just personal passion.
Passion for family, your fellow man. I’m waffling here.
I don’t normally do quotes but I just wanted to share two.
One was from Brea, the main character,”
Quote” I believe people are good. They have to choose not to be”.
And one from Alona/ Myles “Wakey wake, eggs and bakery”, because this was not just about the Fae world but connected to the human realm too.

So all in all a wonderful humourous fun exciting tense at times all encompassing book and a world to loose yourself in.
Oh and i liked it a little bit too.

Your must read this series. It’s so uplifting .

Five stars is not enough by a long chalk.

An epic conclusion to a beautiful trilogy. I absolutely loved this series. I really respected Brea for the difficult choices she had to make, and her desire to put the safety and happiness of the people she loves above her own. She really is a selfless character, and the growth she has shown since the first book is phenomenal. The other characters have developed as well, and it was very interesting to see how everything tied together.

After so long of hearing about Myles, it was nice to see him interact with all the other characters, and to see how he fit in. We already knew a lot about him from Brea's description, but we never got a chance to properly get to know him as his own character.

The story itself was captivating and I devoured the book in one sitting, it was just that good. True to the standard the authors have set in the previous books, the plot twists are frequent and although I knew they would be there were so complex they really were unexpected. The ending did give a good closure which I was satisfied with, but like any excellent series I am sad to see it over. I can only hope the authors continue to build on this enchanting world they have created. I highly recommend this whole series to any fantasy fan!
