Rate this book
He's a possessive bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. She's an innocent girl from a wealthy family.
Binge the series readers are calling the “realest romance out there!" Now includes an exclusive novella, After Party!

For Bad
Repeat after stay away from the hot girl. The beautiful girl. The f**king ray of sunshine in the middle of your delivery route.
Layla Barros is everything I never knew I wanted. Everything I’ll never have.
She’s an innocent young student. I’m a convicted felon.
She’s a rich girl from a nice family. I’ve got nothing but a broken home.
But if I’m an addict, she’s my drug. I can’t stay away, even though I know I’ll ruin her in the end.
She might be the girl of my dreams, but I was always a bad idea.

For Lost
Six months ago, I gave my heart to a girl.
Beautiful, kind, and sexy as sin, she’s the only person who saw past my record or the color of my skin.
Who ever saw me for me.
She loved me enough to let me go, let me leave this city to find my own path.
But without her, I drift, lost without direction.
Without me, she spirals, desperate for connection.
I gave my heart to a girl, and she gave hers to me. But love shouldn’t hurt this much.

For True
They said I was a bad idea. Poor. Violent. Criminal.
They said I’d amount to nothing, and I believed them too.
Until I met her. Layla Barros saved me from my worst, but to do that, she lost the best of herself.
Now it’s my turn to bring her back to life. If only I can figure out how to do it.
I’ll do anything to protect the chance we finally have. I’ll follow her to the other side of the Brazil. Cuba. You name it.
But how can I be her true north when I’m still finding my direction too?
Because sometimes your worst demons are those closest to you.
And sometimes getting rid of them isn’t a choice at all.

5 BAD IDEA COLLECTION STARS!! I freaking loved this collection!! I binged this collection in a day. Nico and Kayla took my breath away from the first time they met. These two had such a pull to each other with so many feels, I was tingling as I read their story. This was my first book by this author and I need more words from her. I highly recommend this collection, so worth your time and money.

This was my second Nicole French series and it was so good, I read it twice!!! It has the right amount of drama and heart that keeps you hooked! Reading the transformation of Nico and Layla as both individuals and as a relationship will keep you cheering them on until the very end. I love all “bad boy/strong sweetheart heroine” storylines, but this one hit me right in the feels.

Even though their story is complete, I get SO excited when they pop up briefly in other series’ of Nicole’s. ❤️

Nico and Layla’s story was filled with tons of angst and was intense. These two had so many ups and downs cause Nico didn’t think he could be who though Layla needed but she saw past his badboy image to see the real Nico which was almost impossible to see cause he made sure of it. This was a great box set

Bad Idea
My heart be still and my emotions are all over the place! The story of Nico and Layla will tear at your emotions and rip out your soul. There are no true words to say how incredible this story of forbidden love is. These two belong together, yet so much pulls them apart. I am in such awe of this author that she has made me fall in love with these characters. Nico is not your typical alpha, he has a good heart, is kind, is gentle, yet does have a dark side to him. And Layla is such a sweet, caring person you just want to wrap your arms around her and give her a great big hug. But can they truly be in a relationship with so many outside influences preventing them? Read this book to find out! I truly enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read the next book in this fantastic series!

Lost Ones
What a beautifully charged emotional read that will hold you entranced from beginning to end! The continuing story of Nico and Layla will take you on a wild ride. So much goes on this story. Your heart will stop, you will be angered, saddened, lustful and eventually even happy. These two belong together, but so much in their lives gets in the way. So many times I wanted to throw my Kindle, which to me, shows how great the story is. Layla goes thru things no woman should have to, but she is a strong character, so I hoped as I read that she would persevere. And Nico just wants what’s best for her even though at times I wanted to scream at him, but I knew he was only doing what he thought best for her. This book will pull at all your emotions. It is so incredible! Please read this phenomenal story! Now I can’t wait to read the final book!!

True North
What an incredible end to this trilogy. The last book in the story of Nico and Layla will forever hold itself in your heart. The story continues with Layla returning to Nico, but is she the same woman who left? Can she let go of her tragic past? Nico will do anything and everything for her to make her forget and move forward. The way this author writes, you can feel every emotion these characters are trying to convey. I literally cried at times! But that just shows how amazing this story is. This series is so well worth the read!

After Party
I loved Shama from the first time she was mentioned as Layla’s friend and hoped she would have her own story. I loved how this side of her that we all fell in love with. When she makes plans in her life, she thought she had it all figured out, then she meets Cairo. But something about him is familiar but she can’t figure out what. All she knows is they have major chemistry. Will she follow thru with her plans? You will need to read her story to find out. I loved it and wish it was a full length book!!

BAD IDEA:
OMG My heart truly loves Nico and Layla. Their trilogy will completely run gamut with your emotions. They encompass true love. They truly belong together, but it seems like the entire world is against them and always determined to pull them apart. Nico is a trule alpha male cuddly teddy bear. He actually reminds me of Jason Mamoa lol. He loves so truly and deeply but life has never been easy for him. Layla brings out his loving caring side beautifully! Their love seems to be tested beyond the limits and it honestly looks like their happily ever after will never be.
LOST ONES:
This was truly a Roller Coaster Ride for me. Reading it I didn't think we could ever see Layla and Nico find their happily ever after. I didn't want to know what would happen next at some points of this story as parts literally broke my heart! Reading you know they belong together, but everything worldly is determined to keep them apart. Nico loves Layla so much this entire book and loves her enough to let her go thinking he isn't worthy of her and feels he doesn't deserve her. This book is really all about true and deep love.
TRUE NORTH:
This ending of an amazing trilogy bring everything all together and finally allows the reader to breathe again!
What an amazing ending to a superb story about two of the best people. This is the story that allows the
Underdog a Happily Ever After. You truly did it again Nicole French. I bow to your brilliance!
AFTERPARTY:
Shama was a brilliant supporting Character in the Bad Idea Trilogy and her character truly deserved more and Afterparty gave it to us.
Shama and KC meet briefly early on at a party that KC's mom throws. They didn't spend any time together and never connected again until many years later each not even recognizing the other.
Shama is about to embark on a year long sabbatical trip and is called on to to help finish a Diva Artists first album and Video. She unwillingly goes to the studio and helps him create the magic he couldn't find and then stars in the entire thing to help him find the perfection he has been seeking. The sparks fly and they spend the next year loosely keeping in touch. When Shama gets home to visit Nico and Layla she finds KC there and they have found their happily ever after. This is a beautifully sweet novella that was such a lovely nice read at the end of the Bad Idea Trilogy. Nicole French- again WOW- Just WOW!!!!

This is the Complete Trilogy all in one book plus an amazing new novella! Bad Idea, Lost Ones, True North - Nico and Layla's story, and After Party - KC and Shama's story.

I have read and reviewed each of the Trilogy books separately, so if you want more info about their journey you can find out more in depth about them that way. But having them all together here is a win win situation! 💖

BAD IDEA starts with Nico and Layla's first meeting and falling in love. Sweet new love. Romance at its finest. I will never see a picture of Central Park covered in snow and not think of Nico and Layla. The path these two traverse from meeting in NYC to moving to LA and back to NYC is a trip you will not want to miss.
LOST ONES was full of the angst they suffer because of fate and other's involvement and how their love is tried and tested is hard on them to put it mildly. The times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room, and times I had to put it down and walk away. Only to come right back to it a little while later and snatch it back up and hope the scenario had changed. But Nico and Layla are tough cookies and their love is the stuff books are written about (gotcha there 😊) and they are Saudade for each other.
TRUE NORTH redeems them. The Epilogue and Extended Epilogue are Perfect! Special Delivery and NYU are for keeps!

AFTER PARTY is great with KC, Nico's best friend, and Shama, Layla's best friend, meeting in LA without knowing their connections. It is steamy, sweet, and the perfect complement to the BAD IDEA Trilogy! So grab this up, you want to have this awesome collection in your library!

After Party
Shama and Cairo (K.C.) take hot a short steamy read that will bring a few tears to your eyes and break your heart just a little bit. An amazing read with all feels and has you wanting more.
Definitely can't wait to read more from this author.

Love!

I love this series! Nicole French wrote an amazing series that covered so many valid topics. But the best part about this series is the Love! Even though these characters fought through hell and back, they always loved and they grew as people and together as a couple. They also taught so many what true love should look like, that it’s not all the same, sometimes it different yet beautiful.

Bad Idea:
This is not your typical romance novel; not by a long shot. This book made me think. Think about things I never really would have considered before. Things that can affect a relationship. These aren’t new ideas and they have been part of many story lines in other books, but there was just something about the way that Nicole wrote about them that hit me, hard.

You know that heavy, aching feeling you get in your chest when you are really emotional, but trying not to let it show? That was how I felt throughout this entire book. The emotions portrayed within the story were so strong and felt so real. I had a difficult time separating myself from the story every time I had to stop reading.

When Nico and Layla see each other for the first time across the reception desk as he comes in for a delivery, there is an instant spark of awareness between them. They see one another at work almost every day, their attraction growing with each brief conversation they share. They both find reasons as to why they shouldn’t be together, why they could never work as a couple, but eventually they give in and agree to be each other’s date on Valentine’s Day.
From then on, they begin spending more and more time together, getting closer, and their feelings growing stronger. They fall in love, even though they both still harbor thoughts about why they could never last.

The love Nico and Layla share is epic and timeless, but will it be enough to overcome everything that they feel separates them? One-click today to start this amazing story.

Lost Ones:
This book! This series! I don’t think I have ever felt so personally and emotionally invested in the outcome of the relationship of fictional characters before. But that is what Nicole French does to you with Nico and Layla.

I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this book is. It is heartbreaking in its beauty and emotionally charged scenes. Every character in the book feels real. Even the city of New York is a character in and of itself. And the descriptions of the different locales where the story takes place make you feel as though you are there, seeing them through the character’s eyes, exactly as they do.

So many events happen to keep Nico and Layla apart, even as they constantly gravitate back to each other. Their story is so heart wrenching and deep you cannot help but be pulled in, waiting, wondering if they will ever get their happily ever after.

True North:
There are so many things I could say about this book. The series in general, really. But the one thing that I have to say is, it was absolute perfection. Nicole French closed out the Bad Idea series in the best possible way with True North.

I have so many emotions invested in Nico and Layla’s story and Nicole did not disappoint me in any way. She has such a way about her writing that the reader has no choice but to fall fully into the story. No matter what the characters are going through, whether good, bad, or ugly, the reader is always right there in the thick of it with them.

Nico and Layla’s love story is real, raw, and beautiful in all its difficulties. That they finally have a genuine chance at happiness together after everything they have been through, and still have to face, filled me with joy.

I am sad that Nico and Layla’s story has come to an end, but I loved every minute of their journey and I will never forget the epic-ness of this series

After Party:
This is a quick, fun story of Nico and Layla's friends, KC and Shama. See what happens when their chemistry finally gets the better of them after so many years.

Bad Idea: The Complete Collection is a one stop shop for the entire series, no more searching our Kindle's for each individual book.

Bad Idea:
What happens when you meet someone but it's all wrong? Meet 19 year old Layla Barros, a college student in New York originally from Washington state. Meet 26 year old Nico Soltero, a fed-ex guy and club doorman. Layla has dreams of being a Lawyer but hasn't figured out her major yet. Nico has dreams of leaving the city and finally trying to make something of himself rather than carrying the burden of supporting his family. Three months before he's supposed to leave for LA he meets Layla, their attraction to one another is instantaneous. What happens next? You'll have to read to find out!

Lost Ones:
Wow is all I can say right now about this book. Nicole French has done it again with book two of the Bad Idea series. She has once again taken us on an emotional journey with Layla and Nico. The variations of emotions she makes you feel as you read is outstanding. The heart wrenching pain that makes us want to cry because our hearts are breaking for these characters. The joy we feel at moments make us want to cheer. As I read through the painful parts that Nicole makes us feel I couldn't help but wish for a HEA for these characters that we've become invested in while reading this series. I've finished reading and yet my heart is still broken, yet filled with so much joy for Layla and Nico.

True North:
True North is book three of the Bad Idea series, you definitely need to read the others first. I highly recommend this book. Nicole French is phenomenal at writing angst, the previous books in this series she has had me near tears with Nico and Layla's story and True North was the same. But fear not, you will slowly have your heart down back together. I have loved Nico and Layla from when I read Bad Idea, my first taste of this amazing author whom has made me love reading books with angst. You will go through a blend of emotions while reading because what Nico and Layla have can only be described as a bitter sweet romance because let's be real, no relationship is perfect and we all carry our own baggage. I love the Bad Idea series because it's something real that you'd see everyday.

After Party:
I ran out of time to read this one, but it is a story I know I want to read. Hopefully I can jump back in to get to it.

Nico and Layla's relationship is not easy. Nico comes from an illegal mother who struggles to live by and had a few children. Once he's old enough he takes it as is own responsibility to help and provide for his family while at the same time he wants to accomplish his own dreams. Layla is a rich girl who only know the best in life, but that doesn't mean she comes from a happy home. On top of that there's some age difference, apart from their class, and all this makes it harder for them.

When I first read book one I wasn't happy with her and she was not my favorite for him, I love Nico because I see some friends on him but by the end of the series this was my opinion: I love this couple so much, the people in their family. Layla and Nico go thru hell to be together (age, social differences, family, friends) but at the end they overcome all issues and get their own version of HEA. They have a special place in my heart, always.

Now moving on to After Party. Shama and KC are Nico and Layla's best friends. They met at Thanksgiving but after that each went their separate ways. Many years later they get together again due to work, they don't remember meeting but the chemistry between them is off the charts. This novella is beautiful and best of all a Happy Ending. I really loved it. It was part of the Spring Fling anthology.

This series is about Layla and Nico.

Who are the at the opposite side off the wealth scale. This bothered Nico more than it did Layla. Nico looked out for his family. And even know Layla came from wealth she wasn't very happy. I think this is what brought them together. This series made me cry I'm not going to lye a roller coaster off emotions with they're story , they are so made for each other its beautiful.

We continue on with Layla and Nico's story. They are both lost souls trying to find anything to stay together. Love don't seem to be enough. I'm so routing for them. They both went in different directions but both stayed in contact. I'm super sad at the situation Layla finds herself in heartbroken for her 😔 definitely ugly crying throu this.

OMG I loved they're story. They have the most drama filled story ever. I was so happy to see them together again in this book. Being together didn't stop them from having issues another set off hurdles . I felt every emotion they went through. There pain ,sadness, happyness, the lot. The ending wow. I wonder what Nicole will bring out next. I recommend all her series, the spitfire series , the quicksilver series and rose gold series. As well as this one. Off to read her next duo set which is Hollywood secret and hollywood chase. 10/10 ,5 ⭐

Nicole French has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Could not put this down and was so glad this is a box set. Waiting between books would have been torture. Nico, a poor Cuban immigrant with a record and blue-collar job falls hard for Layla, the rich college girl interning at a business he delivers to daily on his FedEx route. Though Layla is several years younger, he can't deny or resist the temptation. And the attraction is definitely mutual as Nico and Layla begin a steamy relationship.

But nothing is easy for these two young lovers. Hard decisions have to be made. Prejudices have to be faced. The two are torn apart and yet cling together unable to deny their need for each other.

This is a story of sacrifice and struggle and all consuming love. It was so easy to become invested in these characters. My heart broke and swooned right along with theirs. Their obstacles are real and their love is epic.

Holy Crap! I had to keep reading and reading and I couldn't put it down until it was done. I don't care that it was a long read and sometimes hard to get through because you wanted to slap the characters into making better decisions. So much character, plot, agony, anger, LOVE.
I was really pissed at Nico with the whole LA thing, especially being weak that he couldn't say no...Layla was saying no until she had to get past the hurt and the insanity that was Quinn.
Definition of friendship, family, soulmate all included in this series.
The extended epilogue was well worth it.

This writer has balanced it wonderfully with just the right amount of heat, heart and humor that kept me turning the pages and I was sad when I got to the end and had to leave my 'new found friends'.
GAH! No words! I have no words to describe how truly fantastic this book was! I love love LOVE Nico and Layla! This book, just SO MUCH angst! My heart feels like it was wrenched out, but in a good way! I'm recommending this story to everyone I know, if you are a fan of love in general, you will love this series. I just loved how perfectly imperfect these characters were. The way this writer weaves the whole tapestry with her words, its a whole world she writes, each character is so fully developed and multidimensional which makes you feel like you know more about the hero and heroine, its a more fully formed picture and I appreciate the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about them, it adds to the appeal. This was just an all around great read!
I don't even know what to say, I am still in AWE of this series!
The tapestry she weaves is palpable, I truly feel immersed in this city and culture during this time. I really can feel the world through these characters and I really feel like this is unique to this author and sets her work apart.
And can we talk about Layla for a minute? She wasn't my favorite heroine when I started reading this series. She totally is now. This girl, she's been through so much! As a survivor of some of the same things she dealt with myself, I could SO relate! I am not even ashamed to say I bawled like a baby during one part (you'll know when you get there ;) ) I was like I GET IT!!! IT GETS BETTER! And Nico responded just so perfectly! They made me so happy when they figured their s**t out! I wish they were real so I could hug them!
This series is just everything guys! Its seriously just right up there top series of the year. You have to read this series. I love the realness of them separately and together and all their flaws and problems, it makes them perfectly imperfect in my opinion. Just go get this box set, you need it. Now I'm going to go cry into my pillow because I didn't want to say goodbye and I'm going to miss them!

I loved this series. Loved it! Nicole French gave us a series full of emotion and grist and perseverance. Nico and Layla are characters you can relate to. The are just trying to find their way own way in the world and make the lives of those around them better.

Bad idea by Nicole French is the first installment in the Nad Idea Series. Yet again French writes a story that immediately sucks you in. Layla is a 19 year old college student who picks up a receptionist job to help get by going to schools her family is wealthy but has a you have to make your own way mentality. They pay for her schooling but that’s where it ends. I love how Nicole French wrote Layla in a realistic way. She wrote Layla as a young semi independent adult who is trying to not only find her place in the world but also find out
Her identity in a way.
At her new job she meets Nico, the very handsome and charismatic Fedex delivery guy. French did a great job of writing a blue collar guy who is trying to not only find his own way but take care of his mom and siblings as well. This story sinks its teeth in and won’t let go. It’s emotional and sweet. Pulling at heart strings. Also read the epilogue….French leaves you with your mouth hanging open and scrambling to get the second book.

Lost ones
I’m. It sure where to begin with this book.... I could not put it down. It was absolutely heart wrenching. There were times I was yelling at Layla and praying Nico would show up. This was a amazing second installment in the bad idea series. I can’t wait to see what the next book holds.

True North
This was a fantastic end to the Bad Idea series. Nicole French does what she always does and made this the absolute best ending possible. I loved how this book while still dealing with serious situations around the couple was a bit lighter than the first two. I loved reading and being a part of Layla's and Nico's life and watching the puzzles pieces start to fall into place for them.

BAD IDEA: This was a great hot and steamy book! I really enjoyed it. It was a real page turner.

This was the first time I was getting to read AFTER PARTY:, Shama and KC's novella. It was such a good quick read.

I really enjoyed this series and the collection I would have to say my favorite in the collection was True North. I loved seeing Nico and Layla's story completed. Overall I would say the collection is 4.5 stars. It had really amazing writing and characters, there was just some parts of the story I didn't enjoy as much.

The Bad Idea collection was a fantastic read. The author has a way with writing that makes you fall in love with just about every character in the book. Her writing style will have you captivated and you will not want to put the book down.

This love story is about a strong, protective, passionate, kind hearted soul who, is also extremely sexy and what you’d imagine how FedEx/fireman should look like in your wildest dreams. Nico it is. But not every man is perfect, and Nico has his issues but that’s where Layla comes in. She’s a strong willed woman who is also beautiful, brainy and just wants to be loved completely and unconditionally. Their love story like any other has so many ups and down. So many emotional strings that will be pulled but because the author is so good at taking you to places you thought there would be no light, she surprises you and the light is shinier than expected. I loved seeing how their love story unfolds. Loved reading about all the new destinations visited in the book. It was a cultural ride that had me wanting more.

I would highly recommend this collection. It will pull on every emotional chip you have and you will finish it with a smile. Such a great read as with all of Nicole French’s books. I truly loved it!

MAN OH MAN AND HOLY HELL! I'm still sitting here wondering why the hell I'm still alive to type this review up when I'm dying inside at this point. Nicole French is a very mean author to do what she did, as I was totally into this story, which had a very frustrating push & pull that kept me on the edge of my seat when it came to Nico trying to decide things for Layla at the beginning but then the angst just kept coming. See, he didn't know if he wanted to keep her, or push her away because he was no good for her, and it was torture to experience from just the beginning, but he didn't quite shape up as I went along either but you know. Hell, everything felt like it was happening to me in all honestly, so I found myself screaming more than once at the kindle, hoping that Nico could hear the threats that were being thrown around from me. Layla was strong, and a heroine that I instantly had her back from the jump, so yeah, I'm still very mad at Nico so I won't tell you if I ever forgave him even in the lingering anger. Now, it's time for y'all to hit those one click buttons for yourselves, as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Wow this was the first book that I’ve read from Nicole French, The story starts out fast pace and moving and slows down a little but it is a hard book to put down once you start reading. This book will have your emotions all over the place. You will be mad one minute then laughing or crying. Get ready for a ride of emotions and you will love this book. This is a fantastic read that tells POV for each other during the story.

Have you ever read book that just left you feeling like. Well that is how I feel about this amazing read. that will have you feel throught out the book. this book is a must read book it will have you thinking about the feeling throught out the book.

This series is the one that made me fall in love with Nicole French so much I searched her on social media and told her so. Layla is a young college student trying to find her self never feeling like she belongs. As a child of an American mom and Brazilian father, Layla is often questioning who she is and that is something I can appreciate. Nico however wears his nationality like a badge of honor. Comfortable with who he is and where he came from he has plans and he has waited a long time to make them a reality.

Be prepared to read this entire series. I read this individually and you all are so lucky it’s now a boxed set with a bonus book- Shama’s story! This is one of my favorite stories. Heartbreakingly beautiful and with so much detail! I tell you when I see the moment Layla and Nico meet in my head I really do. Nicole is going to make you nod your head in agreement and cry tears of pain and pleasure with this series. It’s so good it’s one of the few on my reread list. Whenever I need to really get lost and feel something this story is one of my go to’s. Enjoy!
