The Auction Trilogy #3

The Girls They Fear

Rate this book
When fear turns to resolve, the hunted become the hunters.

Pushed too far, Nicole and Dylan take to the streets with the taste of vengeance in their mouths. They have one goal: take down Madame Moirai’s perverted network before she destroys more innocent lives — or die trying.

There’s a steep price on their heads and it’s open season on their lives. Trust is a luxury they can’t afford but they know they can’t do this alone.

All they’ve got on their side — a sociopathic criminal kingpin, a disgraced ex-cop and an embattled NYPD detective — have demons of their own that don’t always play nice together.

The odds are against them but they won’t quit until they have Madame Moirai on her knees, begging for mercy.

It’s the only way they walk away from this.

The only way they survive.

I’ll never let go Jack.

That’s how this series makes you feel. I’m completely gutted. There was no easy way to wrap up this kind of story but damn if it wasn’t done with beauty. I highlighted so many paragraphs it made me sad that as a reader I connected with so much. On the flip side that’s what a great writer does. You can’t read this type of genre for funsies as Dylan and Hicks said. I miss them already. I’m a sobbing mess right now and you will be too. - Thank you for this great wonderful heart wrenching bad ass of a story. I loved every letter!!!

WOW!!!

These were the most amazing books ever. Every emotion becomes involved from the first page to the very end. I would recommend starting these books when you have a couple of days to yourself, because once you start, you will get so immersed in the story, you will forget about everything till you are done and then it will stay with you.

Such A good trilogy

I read all three books back to back. I recommend that method. Each book is a page turner and I'm hoping the author finds a way to revive the series for a fourth installment.

A lot of reality human trafficking is so prevalent and yet we turn a blind eye. When will we realize we all have to stop this. Do what we can

A very well written tale of reality except for the hero’s. I can only pray that the predators will all get covid

There were a couple points where old information was brought in as though it new. I also had a hard time relating to the main character as I had before. It was like she lost all common sense in an effort to be a bad ass.

Spoiler alert!!!!

Gutted!!!! This is the last book in the trilogy and feels rushed. There's not detail to explain what happens to Avalon and the people involved. Feel a bit let down.

I can't believe they just summed up Nicole and Badger committing five murders in the epilouge and didn't tell the story! That could have been the best part! As short as these books were, all 3 in the series could have been one book!

Writing was a little repetitive again. Everything was wrapped up kinda quickly. I noticed several grammatical errors throughout all 3 books, it should have been proofread before publication. Overall the story held my interest until the end.

An AMAZING read…. EXCEPT!!!

The 3 part books “The Girls they stole”, “The Girls they Lost”, and “The Girls They Fear” was a truly riveting book. The suspense kept you on the edge of your seat. The characters were well thought out, gruff but lovable and you couldn’t help but to keep wreading. UNFORTUNATELY, I could NOT in good conscience give these books the 5 stars they may have otherwise deserved due to the foul language that involved taking The Lord’s name in vain. The use of “GD” and others alike in all it’s vulgarity was EXTENSIVE to say the least. It was completely unnecessary in the text as it leaves many to be offended and casts a negative light on the writer’s otherwise fantastic work. I am generally quite picky about books that have an excess of spelling and grammar errors, which this book contained. However, I would have still given it 5 stars despite the oversights had it not been for the pointless vulgarity. I truly hope this is read by the author and taken to heart. I would love to enjoy more of her writing… with less.

This final book to the trilogy broke my heart but in a good way. I am not going to give away any spoilers because it's worth the read.

I didn't particular love the main character in this book as her actions and and ways she thought things through angered me but that's probably because I couldn't really relate to what she was going through. This book you get to know more the of the secrets, get close to the people, and finally get some type of closure to the Avalon.

The ending is very sad and that makes me like this book even more. I love a good happy ending but when you put pain and suffering into an ending, even with closure... it makes what you read more real and I think that's what the author was trying to portray.

This book is tough to read about but a great read none the less.

THE AUCTION TRILOGY

I have ready thousands of books in my 56 years. Some were stand alone, others series or trilogies as “The Auction Trilogy” is. Let me start by saying bravo to J.H. Leigh for outstanding characters that came from all walks of life, yet meshed into a wonderfully dysfunctional, but at the same time functional family unit. Leigh put everything together so smoothly and expertly as if it was written from experience. Sadly, there is so much human trafficking going on in todays world that one can only pray that there are bad asses out there winning this evil fight.

Genre: Thriller

Last book of the series and Nicole finally gets her revenge but not without loss. In her quest to bring down Avalon, she runs into her purchaser, Henri, again. He tries to take her but she has help this time. However, the corruption related to Avalon is deeper than even detective Kerri imagined. She wants to do things by the book but realizes she may have to bend the law to survive. The story culminates with Nicole and Kerri getting the evidence they need (and Nicole the opportunity to exact her own revenge).

WOW!

Read this series! It's an eye opener. This isn't for the light hearted. It can give you a glimpse into lives of people who on the outside look great but the inside have souls that are black. It also has a great story of how much one can go through to survive a life most of us have never even imagined. A story of hope yet another of suffering and STRENGTH. I am a SURVIVOR myself....but I couldn't imagine having the courage of someone like Kerri, Dylan or Nicole.

Fantastic series

I didn't write up a review for all of the books in this series only because I felt that it was better to write one when I read them all. I highly recommend reading this series because after reading one you can't wait to read the next and so on. I found nothing bad to say about the writing of these books and would gladly read another book or series that she writes.

An Emotional Roller Coaster Ride

I just finished the third and final book in the series. This series takes you on such an emotional roller coaster ride and I just couldn’t put it down. The strength of these girls is beyond comprehension. You will cry, laugh, get angry, want to beat someone to death and most of all, protect these girls and love and nurture them. Highly recommend this series.

I couldn't stop until I finished the three books in the series.

I usually don't read this type of book, but it caught my eye ,and I'm glad it did. A story about sex trafficking that drags you into the dark side of what people are capable off and of the survivors. A very good series

A very twisted ending

Justice was served in epic proportions. The hell that was endured in this story was awful. I was sad that all of the girls didn't make it . They were young ,yet the were so strong for themselves. I recommend some tissues for not only this book but the whole trilogy.

In this volume, the girls and their peculiar assortment of allies go after the organisation that arranged their action and rape. A satisfying conclusion to a pretty good series. Lots of action and violence and, yes, like in the previous volumes, all of our central characters don't survive. Lots of suspense during the investigation and a huge climax.

Series worth reading!

Good ending. Would like to know how Nicole's life progressed. The story line outlines a major issue in the world today. Thank you for bringing this hard issue to print.

I would have liked to see more of the justice in the end. Whether it be more on the killings or thr court. Know more about the documents they found and the people. Not a whole book worth, but maybe a couple chapters. Overall, a good third book.

I read all three books in one go and would recommend that way to read them as the story flows.

I did find the three books an interesting take on sex trafficking and did feel for the girls.

Good read and I would read other books by this author as very interesting.
