He was just a drifter on his way to work for an old friend. But being a victim in a failed stagecoach robbery changed all of that.
Now, stranded out on the prairie, Cord and the other passengers are fleeing for their lives from a madman and his gang hellbent on dispensing their own form of justice.
Cord doesn’t want any part of it, but his pursuers don’t care about circumstances.
The odds are against them. They’re all alone, far from help and greatly outnumbered.
Will they make it?
Their pursuers have plans to kill them all. But if they try, they’ll soon find out that Cord Chantry isn’t going down easy, at least not without taking quite a few of them with him.
This was a Facebook recommendation. I enjoy a good western and have been looking for a nice series. The book started really well, but settled down into a despflight with character development and little action. The last 15% of the book moved quickly. The ending was a bit of dissatisfaction . Not sure about next in series. 3.7 out of 5 rating.
Drifter is full of gun fights, outlaw chases, stage robbery, and a little romance. Need to know what happened to Quincey ,and Billy should have lived. Hope Cord finds River and kills him.
