Angus Conner has never been an easygoing type of guy. He had been grumpy, cranky, opinionated, irritated, and pissed off most his life, but not lucky in love or relationships. When he just happened to be in the right place at the right time, lucky enough to be a woman's knight in shining armor, his life and his outlook changed.

Violet's smile was enough to make even Angus's scowl turn into a happy grin. When trouble finds her once again, he has to learn how to deal with her secret life while at the same time, making sure that she's there to live that life next to him.

Violet Merida is ready for something new and online dating is definitely that. When she runs into the worst kind of guy, she's lucky enough to meet Angus Conner and all thoughts that there is any other man out there for her disappear. He's there for her at her weakest moment and stays by her side when all her secrets are revealed.

Love shines through in this story about an unlikely couple.

Wowza!

I have no words. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. This book BLEW my mind. I can’t tell you the last time I laughed so hard. And man I was NOT expecting what happened in it to happen. Usually I know it’s coming. This one was so unexpected and was nice to see something different. Definitely my new favorite book. Can’t wait to see what’s to come.

I liked it but I'm not sure why Angus waited to pursue violet. I'm assuming Tavin will be with London but I hope Liberty is a crossover with one of the mc's.

Violet Merida is gun shy when it comes to dating. Her past was an utter disaster and has left her a bit insecure. Deciding to take a chance and meet the man she has been chatting with online, Violet quickly regrets her decision but decides they can be friends. However, the man has other plans and Violet finds herself being rescued by Angus Conner who is quickly intrigued by the beautiful woman. However when his family needs him Angus has to leave and never got her information. Both Violet and Angus can't stop thinking about one another and when fate intervenes they get a second chance. Angus believes she might be the one and as he gets to know Violet he is even more sure she is the one. He knows Violet is nervous about trusting him but he is going to do everything possible to prove he is her happily ever after.

Wonderful read. Perfect follow up to Finn and the story intertwines beautifully with the first book. I had been really curious about Angus's story when his character was introduced and this story did not disappoint. Angus is a grump, surly and when it comes to Violet he is sweet and treats her so preciously he won me over. Can't wait for the other characters books.

The grumpiest of the Conner brothers gets his book in this one. I liked how there was a bit of overlap with the first book. It made sense in what was going on. I both loved and hated how Angus and Violet met, was glad that when she really needed someone Violet had Angus there for her. Better was when they met again months later and they were able to really talk. The two of them were great! I thought it funny how the siblings of both of them warned off the other at different times, to make sure that they were real in their feelings and not out to hurt the other.

The drama that happened at Violet's family house was crazy! I really liked how things played out at the end, with the family meeting and the Connor compound getting some upgrades. Violet's stealthy wake up for August was the best way to end things for them.

I was glad to see Angus and Lena get their HEA, they both deserved it. I love the Merida sisters being added to this big family group. Great book. My only complaint is the death of parents and siblings was mentioned a bit too much throughout this book. We got it the first or second time mentioned.

Cee Bowerman has quickly become one of my “go to” authors. Every book is better than the last, and trust me, those previous books were pretty dang amazing...which brings us to Angus. This book was so fabulous! I almost cried when she veered away from the MC guys and brought us the Conner Brothers, but I should have known she knew what she was doing. The first book, Finn’s book, was so great and introduced us to this wonderful family of men...once again Ms. Bowerman sucked me in...and then she gave us Angus. This broody man is so perfect and his Violet is his true other half. I loved how these two just clicked on every level. This is the type of book that I’ve come to expect of Ms. Bowerman, sexy, exciting, sweet...oh so sweet...and hilariously funny...oh my word I was continually laughing my head off...this family! Thank you so much for Angus & Violet’s story...totally fabulous...and giving us a glimpse into future Conner Bro’s stories...can’t wait. Also thanks for letting us visit with some of the Rojo crew, we miss them in between books. Appreciate you sharing your incredibly vivid imagination with us Ms. Bowerman and can’t wait to see where you take us next!

Cee has an ability to captivate readers from the first pages of her book.

If story line was the only consideration this would be a 4-4.5⭐ read. She weaves a story that has you wanting to ignore the world and find out what happens.

Unfortunately there is too much repetition, there were parts where it felt like I was reading Lena and Finn's story all over again. Certain story lines were described more than once just using different words

I will continue to read the series because I want to know what happens with the Connors. Cee has created likable characters that make you want to turn the page. Hoping the next brothers book has some of the issues noted above worked out and makes for a smooth read.

Can a blind date lead to a chance at forever with another man?

I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE read. Cee Bowerman authors multiple series set within Rojo, Texas and they are intertwined. There is a correct reading order and it can be found on her website (ceebowermanbooks.com). These really do need to be read in that order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe (world building), with past and concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following may contain SPOILERS **

Another great story in Rojo, Texas! This story introduces the Merida / Cunningham sisters and features Violet, an author, and Angus. To recap the Connor family: they have a lot of twins and the siblings went to school with a lot of the Texas Kings and Knights MC members. Recently suffered an unbelievably heartbreaking tragedy, but a miracle as well. Multiple family members were killed in an auto accident, including their parents and two sisters, one of which was pregnant with twins. With the intervention of modern medicine, she has been able to gestate the twins. This story overlaps with a couple of the previous stories and begins the day before the comatose sister goes into labor.

Violet is meeting a blind date at a local restaurant in Rojo. The two of them have been talking online for about a month, but she has doubts that this will go anywhere. Her family has (had) a couple of famous country 🎶 stars, her mom and her sister. Previously Violet had a bad experience when she thought a man cared for her but was only trying to gain access to her family’s contacts by taking one for the team “with the fatty”. This destroyed any confidence she had built up and solidified the way she viewed her own body image.

Her “date” shows up late, doesn’t apologize, he is an a$$ to her and the waitress, and Violet sees enough. She tells him there is no spark, that they will only ever be friends and she is ready to go home. He flips, apologizes for his nerves making him act that way and they were able to converse similar to their online chats. While Violet was waiting for her date, she saw two men enter that had to be twins. They reminded her of before and after, as one was smiling and the other angry. She ran into the angry one in the hallway when she went to the restroom.

Angus and his twin, Mace, were meeting at the restaurant for dinner. They were catching up and discussing the new office manager / secretary their brother Finn hired and apparently just started a relationship with. The potential for issues if this went south was high. Then add to that, Bella was due to give birth soon and Finn would be raising the twins as the oldest brother and her twin. When they entered, Angus saw the most beautiful and sexiest woman he had ever seen in his life, but unfortunately she was meeting with someone. Then she literally ran into him outside the restrooms and she smelled like heaven. He couldn’t resist watching her walk down the hall.

When Violet got back from the restroom she finished her drink, but was still very thirsty. She drank some of her water, but she then started to feel too warm and voices seemed farther away. Her date tried to tell her she had too much to drink and guide her out of the restaurant. Violet knew she hadn’t had too much to drink and something was wrong. She needed to make sure she told someone, but her head was in the clouds. Maybe she needed to look. That is when she fell and was caught by the man from the hallway. Mmmm, he smelled so good.

Angus was able to catch the beauty before she hit the floor. He quickly realized she’d been drugged, then she went limp …

⛔️ SERIES contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure, restraints, “bottom” play, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, rape, attempted rape, stalking, threats, subterfuge, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females, etc.

** Caution: The series contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There were a few grammatical issues in the story, including punctuation errors (extra spaces, quotation marks, etc.) and typos. All in all, a very well-written story. I highlighted a couple of the issues I found in this story specifically and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

A definite must read book & series!

I'm sorry if I keep writing the same things in my reviews of this author's work, but I can't help it! They're all absolutely amazing stories that will have you laughing so hard you're crying one minute, swooning over the sweet and sexy men next, or crying after a tragedy strikes. Of course there are numerous other feelings in these emotional roller-coaster stories, but in the end, you'll find the HEA that they so deserve.
Even though my expectations are extremely high when it comes to this author (her fault for creating such awesome stories!!! Lol!), she never fails to exceed them! I really love how she incorporates characters from her other series into one another. I was kinda shocked when I realized that part of the characters in this series had played a huge role in one of the other series that I love, but of course I can't say what it is because I refuse to give away spoilers. ;)
If you haven't already read the other series by this author, I would highly recommend that you do! They're all absolutely fantastic and you won't be disappointed!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

The Chapter Titles 🤣 Brilliant 👏

Listen. I LOVED it!! 😍 This story was fantastic. The characters are so well done. I adored Angus Grumpypants and Violet Bodyissues soooooo much!

Storyline was genius. And, it was told well.

Characters are just so 👌 and I've laughed so hard 🤣 with these characters and Cee's sense of humor! Hilarious.

Honestly, these books are the first time I've ever NOT registered the spicy-ness, yes, there are smexy times, but I was so wrapped up in the story, I didn't really stop to register them. Weird, I know. Working those feelings out now.

Cee can tell a story. Cee is new to me. Cee has blown my mind in the best ways possible. Big fan now! Enjoy ❤️

PS the chapter titles were just freaking 👩‍🍳 💋 perfect. I only had to Google one because I hadn't seen the movie in 20+ years. And I didn't connect those dots until I Googled the names. Shame on me for not immediately getting the Waiting to Exhale reference at first. I may have to submit my genX card...

Great book

I was waiting for this book and was worth the wait. Loved these two together ❤. Now I want the sister's book and of course the brothers. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was, no one mentioned to anyone else about the foot steps in the snow in the beginning and I kept thinking about those steps later in the book because it seemed like a big deal. 2, when the big deal finally came, and I was waiting for it, it was over in a second. Was bummed and a little let down. Instead of everyone going over her books for details about what the weirdo do, that should have been left out and making it to where the weirdos were waiting inside and watching and scaring her. They did briefly mention how a killer likes to scare them first in her books. The drama would have been epic. Anyway just my thoughts. I can't wait for the next book which I'm reading in a second.

Another good story. With some great laughs and unexpected sweetness. I enjoyed Angus and Violet's story very much. The interactions between her family and their's was sweet and we see some interconnecting time between Finn and Angus' story. I hate that they had to give up her family home and I'm sure that as a writer someone taking her wild and imaginative books and using them against her will make it harder for her to continue to write which wasn't addressed. The turning the family area for the Connor's into a secured compound was a little unexpected but after the two different attacks on the women seems like a no-brainer. Angus being a sourpuss with everyone but Violet was sweet and their relationship grew slowly enough that it wasn't insta-love though the attraction was definitely strong from the beginning. That's how most love affairs start though. Thanks for another good read.

Angus and Violet

Oh I love this series to pieces . There is no ow drama , no cheating , no big life destroying lies . Just a small town with hot brothers to love in it .

Angus is the grumpy Connor who everyone says never smiles but when he meets Violet he smiles a lot more .

Violet was an awesome little evil genius and I loved her so much . Her mind was twisted but she was a sweetheart . The relationships between her and her sisters kind of mirrored the way the Connor brothers were together .

Together they were just one awesome group of peeps. I need to say for the record Thelma and Louise have my vote as the name for the girls . I will definitely be reading the other books in this series .

Shocked!! I’m blown away! I hope there is a small book for Angus & Violet like how you did with Kale & Terra!!! Eeekkk I will say while I was reading I was totally thinking the ending was going to be different. Like the Simon guy was going to be involved more then he was. But I really enjoyed this book! Seriously wish angus was a real life man! Kale is still my favorite but So far out of all the Connor brothers Angus takes first place. I’m looking forward to the rest of the Connor brothers books.

I saw one tiny error or at least think it was error it said bead and not beard. It was in the first or second chapter I’ll have to go back re read again. But other then that it was flawless!! Definitely going to be reading these books over & over again!!

I was so excited for this book. Angus is the grumpy brother of the Conner clan yet when he is with Violet he is a ray of sunshine and oh so funny and sweet.

I love Angus and Violet together. They were so sweet and had such a fun relationship. Their chemistry was off the charts and I was addicted to them. I flew through the pages and fell so much more in love with the Conner family. Violet was my favourite character, she was so sweet and interesting. The fact that she was a writer and not just any writer but a mystery/horror writer was everything. Her mind and imagination are wild.

The conflict was a bit lacklustre, it had so much potential to be something huge but it fell a bit short for me. I was just expecting more.

I love this series so much and I can't wait to read the rest and also the other series based in this small town.

Book 2 - Angus and Violet

The heroine in this book is plus size. With double D breasts. I loved it because she had some self esteem problems caused by people who saw her as less desirable. She is one of 3 loving siblings. Angus is a big man and is attracted to every inch of her. I especially loved reading about her troubles shopping. I am plus size and one of my daughter's is too. We had problems shopping with many tears until the fashion industry caught up. I made most of our clothes myself until then. Good job.

Such a good read

This is my second read of this really good story. I read another review that said it’s basically a nice insta love read with an incident thrown in.
I suppose it is but it’s actually really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters meet, change and growth in personalities. I loved the interaction with all of the rest of the brothers and Liberty and London.
It’s a really good read

Loved the story of Angus and Violet.
So happy she could bring him to life, as he should be. I was sad to hear he had that fender bender at the time of his family’s.
Such a sad time for him.
Liked the way Violet fell for him. It was the start of it all.
I love the family’s interaction through the book.
Thanks again for a great read.

Love it

I read the first and the second in the series and loved them both. Getting ready to read the third. Took me to chapter 15 to realize that the name pairing at the beginning of each chapter were possible names of that Angus could give for Violet's "girls".... brilliant and funny as hell. Keep up the good work girl.

Angus & Violet

I read a lot of books, and most are series and most have a grumpy silent type brother that 99% of the time is the very last to get his happy ever after in the series. I’m soooooo freaking happy that this author decided to break the mold and give our grumpy Angus his book second in the series, he totally deserved it.

Very Cute Story

The story of Violet and Angus is a love story through and through. One thing for certain is that the Conner Brothers sure don't wait long when they see something they want. With each book I read, their family gets bigger and bigger. But it's all good! They know what they want and go after it. And oh boy . . . for the lucky girl who catches their eye!

A great book 2

This was a great story. I loved Violet with all her writer's idiosyncrasies and her other issues. She was strong and compassionate and realized that family was most important. Angus too is a great character. He's everyone's favorite grump, except when he's with Violet. Interesting plot, tying in Violets stories.
