I love Molly Pittman and have followed her since her time at Digital Marketer. She's an excellent teacher and digital marketer. However, her book was not at all what I expected from her. It seemed like hurry-up, rush, I-need-to-get-a-book-published-so-I-can-be-seen-as-an-authority-on-this-topic. A large chunk of the book is verbatim interviews or written articles by other digital marketing colleagues. It's not a great book for people hoping to get a roadmap on how to get started in the industry. Molly frequently repeats how she was lucky enough to answer the right ad on Craig's list (although admittedly that was followed by years of hard work). In some sections there are too many digital marketing acronyms that only those with some experience will understand. I was also extremely annoyed by the editing (or lack thereof) in this book. There were words missing from sentences, grammatical errors, and errors that spell check couldn't catch ("of" instead of "if", etc). Frequent reminders to check out resources on Molly's website for more info were also very irritating. If the details are important, include them in the book!
Loved it! Good insight into the DM world and the importance of balance
Anyone thinking about it currently the wonderful world of digital marketing should check this book out. It's got great actionable material along with some of the intangible 'you just have to experience it' stories. Molly is a rockstar and I'm definitely recommending this to friends in the industry
I failed with Facebook Ads for 2 years. Then this book came along...
Let's be real, digital marketing isn't simple. Yet, Molly Pittman has a wonderful way of conveying complex ideas in an easy to understand way.
The ROI you get from this book is immeasurable:
- you can walk into an interview for a job in digital marketing with more confidence - you'll have a stronger understanding about how to create successful FB ads - you'll understand how to tie digital marketing to a business' bottom line
Thank you for bringing 'Click Happy to the world Molly...I just wish you'd written it 2 years ago! :)
Educational and inspirational. A guide for a life working in the virtual, uncertain, challenging, automated world of digital marketing
I first came across Molly, around 5 years ago, through the perpetual traffic podcast. Her passion for educating others and sharing her phenomenal knowledge is addictive and has given me the clarity I needed, to continue following in her footsteps and share my own knowledge to help others find their true purpose in life. If you've ever had a desire to earn money online then this book is the perfect place to start.
When I first read this book I thought it was interesting but not mind blowing. Over the last ten days Ive referred back to it almost every day. I really enjoyed this book and I'm going to read it again and study it this time. Ive been in digital marketing for a long time and Molly's book is refreshingly different for anyone looking to get started in Facebook advertising.
