Moira I’ve known Braxton my whole life. He’s older than me, but I’ve loved him since I knew what that meant. And when I see him again after years of being apart, I don’t want to stop myself from telling him how I feel. He might be my father’s good friend, and nearly two decades older than me, but he’s all I want. Braxton I first realized I loved Moira when she was eighteen years old. Now two years later I’m back in her life and that affection has grown tenfold. It’s smart to stay away, but I can’t. I won’t. It's been so long since I've been with a woman because I only want her. It’s time to man-up and tell Moira that she’s been mine for years, even if she didn’t know it.
His First is the sixth book in The His Collection. Each book is by a different author and this one is by Jenika Snow.
Moira has been in love with Braxton Richfield for as long as she can remember. Even if he is nearly twenty years older than she is and is her father’s closest friend. She’s twenty years old now and is tired of keeping her feelings to herself. She has never wanted any other man and has been saving herself for him. It is time to tell him how she feels. Will he reject her or does he feel something as well?
“Yeah, I was so head over heels in love with this man, flying so high I could touch the sky, and I knew I’d never be on solid ground again.”
Moira was eighteen years old when Braxton knew that he was in love with her. He has stayed away for two years, waiting until the right time to make her his. Now when he is re-uniting with Moira’s father for a visit, he can wait no longer. She would be his.
This was probably the shortest of this series. So that is the reason for the little bit of a lower rating. I just didn’t have time to really get to know the characters. There wasn’t time for much of a story. I think I enjoyed the two little epilogues the most. As in the other books in this series, the sexy times were steamy and even though it was short, I still did enjoy it. I just wish there was more.
“I’ll always be yours, the same as you’ll always be mine,” she said softly, smiling. “Always,” I said, my heart full. I was hers, and nothing would ever change that.
Basically all the covers are the same for this series and they are pretty good covers. I am not sure that model on this one matches my idea of the hero that said the composition is good as is the typography.
This one was OK. It was SUPER short (it only took me twenty minutes to read) and basically is just one long sex scene. No real DD/lg play in this one. In fact, I think the heroine only calls him "daddy" once during the sex scene and honestly, that seemed to be just throw in. *shrug* That said, it was still an enjoyable quick read. So a thumb up from yours truly.
I appear to be the odd one out here because this book has loads of really good reviews but it just didn't work for me at all. There's tons of these short insta-love older man/younger woman books around and I know because I read a lot of them but this one just didn't click. Firstly I never felt any real connection between Braxton and Moira to the extent where even the sex scenes (gasp, I know) which Jenika is famous for didn't work for me. I found myself rolling my eyes as we had yet another "good" "...I moaned at how good it felt" "....so damn good" "So good Moira, so fucking good" "Tell me how good you feel" "I could make her feel good" "Make you feel so fucking good" "You feel so good" "Yes, so fucking good" That's a lot of 'goods' for such a short read.
This may seem harsh but this felt like it had been thrown together without much thought or effort. With so many similar books out there the key (for me anyway) is in the characters, they need to be interesting or have some pull and here they just didn't.
I have no writing talent at all but I could have written this without much effort and that's not good.
This is what I'd class as perfect lunchtime reading...if you're quite comfortable sitting at your desk reading one long sex scene. Which of course I am.
Not really much I can say as it literally took me fifteen minutes to polish off which doesn't really give you much of a chance to get to know the characters, but it offers a short, steamy fix and I can say I'd read Jenika Snow again.
Such a sensual and sweet story won my heart from page one. It is a fast paced plot with dreamy scenes and sugary dialogues and that's something you definitely expect from the author and of course, all the pages burst with love!
Braxton and Moira were perfect for each other and created very sweet and steamy scenes plus the author gifted us with two wonderful epilogs! I certainly recommend it and I can't wait to read the next great creation from J.S.

Ehhh. It's Jenika Snow, love her/hate her. This was meh, spent most of the book talking about about how good sex would be before he actually got there. There was no chemistry. Both H/h have loved each other for years but I couldn't understand why. It wasn't horrible, just a tad boring. It's a quick read and again, Jenika Snow, so I'm just going with it.
I’m new to Jenika Snow but a friend had mentioned how much she likes her work so I made sure to try out the next one that became available. I am happy to say that I enjoyed it and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Moira has been in love with her father’s best friend for as long as she can remember. He’s twice her age but that means nothing to her. She hasn’t seen him in two years since her high school graduation and the anticipation is driving her crazy. She’s determined to tell him about her feelings this time. Little did she know, that he would beat her to it.
Braxton has been away from Moira since the day that he realized he loved her. He knows there will be complications with loving his best friend’s daughter but he’s willing to lose everything to have her as his.
I will be honest and say that I felt kind of blah about Moira. It’s not that I didn’t like her. I just didn’t really connect with her. So maybe I’m just indifferent towards her. I’m happy she got the love that she’s always wanted but she didn’t stand out to me. However, I really liked Braxton. He’s older and knows what he wants and goes after it. He lays it out on the line and makes sure that his love is cared for and protected. From the moment he had Miora in his arms, he didn’t let go. Plus, he provided us with some pretty steamy scenes.
Overall, I enjoyed this short and sweet book that has everything safe. Over the top insta-love, a virgin and even a bonus of celibacy. It’s sugary sweet with some sexy thrown in there. If you are looking for a short escape to clear you mind and just enjoy overall over the top happiness, then this is the book for you.

I must be a masochist, because I keep reading Jenika Snow books and hoping for a better story.
Her dark books are alright, which is why I even decided to read a second book, but the second and the third and the fourth--and so on--have all been disappointments.
She's made it her mission to write books that are shorter than a high school essay, and in doing so, she's takes what could be a great story, waters is down, tosses in a tired sex scene, and then throws down two epilogues so the READER doesn't miss that there's a happily ever after.
Honestly, I don't know if it's fair to call a book an erotic romance is there is nothing erotic about it. There was ONE SEX SCENE. She spent more time on the TWO YEARS LATER than she did on showing the depth and sexual tension between Braxton and Moira. Yeah, they had explicit sex...but it lacked chemistry, heat, and the go-go juice that gets my engine running. The taboo daddy kink thing seemed like an afterthought. He called himself "daddy" once, and so what if he's old enough to be her father? Her FATHER is dating a girl young enough to be his daughter. There's no tension there.
This book--like every other Jenika Snow book I've read over the last five years--is the result of Ms. Snow writing a single book in a two-day span, and expecting it to be this incredible read.
I want to give the book 1.5 stars, but honor dictates that since I was given this book by a PR company, I have to mark it higher for sales purposes.
His First is the sixth book in The His Collection and it is one of my ultimate favorites in this Collection. Ms. Snow does it again!! It is a steamy and sexy read between a young woman and her dad's best friend which has a great plot with hot scenes and spicy dialogue. It is a short novella but definitely doesn’t lack plot for it is full of plot and of emotion and of sexy scenes. Braxton and Moira are perfect for each other and definitely are great for this collection. Love the Daddy Kink taboo going on for it is super hot and made this story even hotter!!
My Rating: 4.8 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I really didn't like this one and I'm not exactly sure why. I'm used to reading short books where everything is quick but this one seemed rushed in an effort for it to be over. Their whole relationship felt almost forced and I was bored with them and their story. Another thing that I found annoying was the first time they had sex he must've said, "You're so wet." and, "Are you ready ?" at least 10 times. I've been on a horrible roll lately with my favorite authors writing stuff I just can't stand and I hope it ends soon.
He loves his woman no matter he could've been her father That's how big the age difference was between these two but love is blind and these two definitely love each other. Their story has enough heat to send your panties. Hold on tight and don't get burned...too bad! Lol 😆
I was pulled right into this short story. The story has laughs, heat, and inst-love.
If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first: HIS Everything by Frankie Love His Obsession by Roxie Brock His Rules by Dani Wyatt His Temptation (The HIS Collection, #4) by Amber A. Bardan HIS Girl by Aria Cole
This is Moria and Braxton’s story. Braxton is Moria’s father’s friend. He is two decades older then her. But age is not a definition of love. Your heart wants that your heart wants. Moria wants Braxton. She will do anything to have him. Braxton wants Moria and realized he loved her when she was 18. He knows he will have her he just can’t stay away. Now just to let her know what he wants.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Hmmm.. a bit disappointing. I couldn't connect with the characters. Couldn't feel their love and passion. It was all so rushed. There wasn't build up. It's like I was missing a previous chapter or something like that. Also... the sexy scenes were a bit slow and boring. It dragged and dragged... without actually accomplish anything.
Quick read about Braxton and Moira. Moira has been in love with Braxton forever but he is her father’s friend and almost 20 years older than her but she doesn’t care. Braxton ahs been in love with her as well. Loved this quick steamy read. They were so good together and the epilogues were so good.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What a juicy lil novella to pop my Jenika Snow cherry. I absolutely loved this 20 year age gap, father’s friend romance. This was just a tease and made me want more of Jenika’s other books. I love me some Taboo romance!
His First by Jenika Snow is a novella in the His Collection. It centers on Braxton and successful businessman and Moira who is the 20 year old daughter of his good friend. They have been pretty pining for each other for years. For Moira it was a youthful infatuation which grew into love, for Braxton it came when he saw the woman she had grown into. But even then Braxton waited. Now, seeing each other again, neither can wait. His First was very sweet and caring. She is his first love, he is her first everything. I liked that although there was a little delay, dinner for Braxton and Moira's father to catch up their friendship, after that neither could even sleep for wanting to be together. And neither did. Both characters were not only hot for each other, but genuinely cared for each other.
Overall, His First by Jenika Snow was a nice, short read with characters who you fall in love with in seconds. I happily recommend.
