Sass versus AI! Sanctuary, high-tech paradise with small-town charm! Leave a message at the beep.
In a flash of old-fashioned warp, Sass’s crew catches up in time to Prosper.
Eager to greet a new world, instead Sass’s comms are blocked by an AI answering machine from hell.
Sanctuary is refuge to the Colony Corps who transported settlers from Earth. Compared to Thrive’s home moon of Mahina, it’s a paradise. People are healthy. Their dome stretches over sports fields. Electric horses and fun three-wheelers are available to venture out, complete with breath mask.
Robots do the work.
Something is off here. And Sass is doomed to fix it.
Can Sass liberate Sanctuary from its diabolical AI? Are Sass and Clay the perfect foils? Or just the most vulnerable?
And must Thrive crew get jailed on every world they visit?
Don’t miss Sass’s showdown with that nemesis your mother warned you about — someone just like her.

After 14 years on walkabout to New York, Colorado, Texas and Tokyo, I swam home to spawn in shoreline Connecticut. A recovering computer programmer, I’ve worked in the seismic industry, semiconductor electronics, academic research in biology and environmental science, and online teaching simulators.
I live alone, and enjoy swimming, walking, and crafts. I grow vegetables indoors, until my crops spill outside and down the driveway. I read voraciously, curious about everything, especially how things work.
I was so upset at the end of this book. I thought Sass and Clay were really dead there for a while. I was reeling in grief at their loss , to the point that I was considering stopping reading the series. It is amazing how characters you have come to love can effect you so emotionally! Thankfully I learned they had survived as I suspected and hoped for , so I won't have to go on without them , I can leap into book number seven as soon as possible. I haven't enjoyed a book series this much since I read the Well World Chronicles ( by Jack L Chalker ) almost thirty years ago.
I have always found Ginger’s books more than entertainment. This series brought a lot of science along with the sense of humanity. This book gives the reader a fantastic look into consciousness. While struggling in a battle with an artificial intelligence Sass deals with her own doubts and feeling of what it means to be human. Is she an artificial intelligence and does it make any difference? We see the finality of her growth and how she comes to grips with her own self being. This is a fantastic book with many twists and wonderful chuckles.
they are at Sanctuary and fighting an sentient A-1 for their lives
Sass, Clay and the rest of their crew have made the eleven year trip to Sanctuary only to be greeted by an A-1 that don’t want them. They have to fight their way to land and meet the few people left that are under the control of the A-1. How do they make it to keep from being killed. And when Sass and Clay get captured and tortured will the old crew with their new technology come to the rescue? Fantastic and can’t wait till next book
With a new crew on board Clay and Sass set off for Sanctuary another planet with better weather than any of the settlements in their solar system has. While they are on their twelve year trip back home work on the new (old) ship they pulled from the bottom of the sea on a visit to another local settlement planet. A crazy AI is in charge at Sanctuary and shots the ship leaving them with nothing to do but evade and run for the planet. Scary time start for both crews and they need to make friends and overcome bullies. Good Read.
When Clay and Sass and their new crew arrive at Sanctuary, the home of the Ganymedans who carried the settlers to the worlds to be terraformed, they were met with what appeared to be computer generated communications and were unable to speak to humans. An AI had taken over running almost all of the functions of the Sanctuary colony.
Congratulation to Ginger Booth for this amazing series. It’s hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series.
So ,have enjoyed the series despite Sass's seeming inability , after all this time , to learn how to spot a trap . She is the most capable ,gullible ,protagonist in space. Great Series
Sass, Clay, and their new crew arrive at Sanctuary and find a computer that has a self-aware AI. This AI is in control of the entire Sanctuary system. That’s when the trouble starts. An enjoyable read.
This is book 6 of the Thrive series, and while you can definitely read this as a stand alone, I would recommend reading the rest, either prior to or after this one, because its a great read. It tells about a dystopian future, where the 2 main characters are bio cyborgs who are trying to reconnect trans system human survivors of the death of the Earth. Lots of stuff happens, and its great.
