TEAM REAPER GOES GLOBAL Reaper arrives in hell zone Afghanistan set on bringing justice to a Taliban opium warlord. Teamed with the CIA, Reaper wages a dirty war against international narco-terror and the casualties quickly pile up. In a single instant, everything unravels and the Team is decimated, forcing John Kane to continue the mission with a quick-on-the-trigger female intel officer wielding an extremely bad attitude and too many secrets.
Working with the Agency is never clean. Pursuing the target into Iran, Kane enters an espionage wilderness of mirrors; dealing with double-agents, unscrupulous mercenaries, and dubious government authorization. Following the bloody trail of an American traitor, Kane leads an assault on a horrifyingly well-defended Albanian island fortress.
The final firefight takes Reaper deep into the terror of combat and threatens to drown the Team in blood.
I’ve read all the previous books and although they had some errors, they were for the most part okay. I can’t believe Brent Towns is the same writer as before: Axe says something when he’s in the hospital unconscious; she is used as a pronoun for a male; there is dialog that doesn’t really make sense - as if I missed something earlier but I reread the chapter and I didn’t miss it; the exact same description is used to describe the lobby chapters apart; there are run-on sentences using but multiple times. I haven’t finished the book yet and these are just some of the issues so far. I will finish it but so many errors have reduced my reading enjoyment.
Fast paced, brutal and exciting ! The story is excellent and the action never gives up . Well written interesting characters you can get behind. Could have been 5star stuff, but there are many misspellings and some punctuation problems. Also a few possible missing lines early in the eBook make a few areas confused. For the money I paid, I didn't expect a ton of errors. But, errors I got.
I love a tale such as this one where the plot and motion do not get bogged down in unnecessary detail and lots of tedious syrup among the characters but continue to move forward as serious life tends to do
I gave this a three for the action scenes only. The plot is totally unbelievable with the team overcoming incredible odds and receiving nothing more than scratches. If you have the time read it if not there are much better books available.
Bullets, bombs, knives...and sadly almost as many typos. These stories have had enough time in the public eye to have the errata cleaned up. Like bumps in the road, the typos still let you get where you're going...but not comfortably
Nothing unusual, just the best time reading the exploits of team reaper, witty, ruthless, and totally committed to justice, team reaper style.bring on more adventurous exploits.
I have been a fan of Team Reaper for some time and have enjoyed the read but now it seems Kane should retire as his work has become sloppy. This one has been a deaster. as Kane stumbled along a lost trail so maybe it's time for some R&R then review tactics .
Well Gor the first time dome of the team Reaper took some hits! With all the gun battles the team has been in and never got a scratch this was a first!
Met some new characters which were just as bad ass as the Reaper team. Going after bad guys with as much experience as the team was interesting to read
I've read every book in the Team Reaper series to date and must say that Danger Close seems like it was written by a different author. After losing members of his team in Afghanistan, John Kane embarks on the remainder of his mission in Iran with a CIA female operative. From the start, she is disruptive and the banter she attempts isn't funny at all - doing so even during a firefight.
There is action at the beginning and at the end, but the middle seems to continuously get bogged down. Battles against overwhelming odds take place with the two of them coming out unscathed.
The final battle on a former island stronghold pits Team Reaper (with team members from former missions) against the elite Albanian special forces soldiers is more in line with how the action takes place in the author's previous books.
Danger Close was still an okay read, but I'm hoping that if Mr. Towns continues the series, he stays with what has worked in the past.
Brent Towns continues the Team Reaper series with a great adventure
OK this is one involved book to read but it starts easily. Team Reaper meets Barbara Hennessey, their CIA liaison to their agency's Worldwide Drug Initiative. She tells the team that heroin pipeline controller, Naci, is now funding terrorists. Their next mission is to dismantle his empire as well as him.
This story is about that mission with all of the twists, turns, and surprises similar to all of Team Reaper's previous missions. Don't miss out so start reading now!
'Danger Close' did not disappoint. Yes, there needs to be some editing done, but the story was very thrilling. As with all the Reaper books, full of action, thrilling scenarios and great characters. A good add to your tbr list.
