When a Pineapple Port resident is found dead during an approaching hurricane, Charlotte fears someone’s trying to disguise murders as storm-related accidents. The first two victims have more than the storm in common – both were hoarding valuable storm supplies like toilet paper and water. Hm. Maybe the killer is karma! "Amy is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend all of her books. No matter what genre she writes in, she manages to create books that demand that the pages be immediately turned to find out what happened, because you really care about the characters." ~ Dianne Harman, USA Today and Amazon Chart #1 Bestselling Author Bringing together the area’s community leaders to spread a warning could lead to even more trouble. Very light reading..great for a day at the beach or during a summer storm! Characters are funny, the situations very fast....there’s enough twists and turns to make you dizzy. Easy read..... on the negative side...characters are not well developed and the situations change in lightening speed without a lot of detail...but a nice read without having to think too hard about who done it.
Oh wow Charlotte and the gang are back, better and funnier than ever. I loved this book and think it is my favourite one, which is saying something because all have been pretty good books. I loved it because of the characters, they are just so much fun and the situations that they make for themselves is hilarious. The last book the gang only played a small part in the plot and was soarly missed but with this book they are all back bringing back the spark that makes this just a great series to loose your self in. Also with the world gripped by a pandemic at the moment it brought a light funny side to hoarding toilet rolls. I read the book in a day, I was that hooked and didn't want to put it down. When is this series going to be made into a tv series? Oh well I guess I will just have wait for the audio book version to come out. Jamie Moriarty the notorious puzzle killer has broken out of jail or has she? Well if she had done the first place she would head to would be Pineapple Port to settle an old score with two of its residents and to get her daughter to join her. With only the world of his crazy ex girlfriend, who happens to be the daughter of the serial killer, Declan is unsure whether to believe her or not because she will stop at nothing to get him back. Charlotte isn't so sure Stephanie is lying and it is not just the whole dishevelled and scared look she is wearing because Charlotte is investigating to deaths which on first look are mistaken for an accidents. Could they be the work of the puzzle killer? Charlotte and Declan could be in more trouble than just the hurricane coming because the only thing holding Stephanie in Pineapple Port is Declan and her mother knows it. I can't wait for the next book or the audio version of this book to come out.
Just when you thought they could not fit another character in this series, Amy V. goes ahead and does it.
An early hurricane is approaching Florida. The snow birds have not left yet. The food is being horded, and someone is getting back at them. Meanwhile, some hoarders are dying as they prepare their houses for the storm. They look like accidents but....
Charlotte and the gang have to figure out who is doing these things only to find out they are the targets. Can she do it before the storm is over, or even before she is killed.
Implied violence but none 'on screen'. Clean story. Safe read for all. If you have not read earlier books in the series you might want to pick one up. You can keep up without too much trouble though.
Amy Vansant has never failed to keep the reader engrossed in her books and this one is no different. There have been two "accidental" deaths in the area, but Charlotte and Declan have their suspicions that they may be murders disguised as accidents. Then they get some news from a dubious source that an old foe may be back in town looking for revenge. The hurricane is approaching and they intend to hunker down to ride it out in Declan's house. However, they have their suspicions that the storm could provide the enemy the perfect cover to come and kill them. Declan's uncle turns up to ride out the storm with them, bringing along a woman that none of them know. Hopefully, the number of people in the house may be a deterrent to a would be killer.
Another dandy of a story! Did Jamie escape prison? Is the hurricane going to hit Pineapple Port? Stores are running out of toilet paper ,eggs, and meat. The hoarders are snowbirds. Bodies are turning up. Is there a serial killer in town? Who is after Charlotte and Declan? There is mystery, murder, action, funny situations, twists and turns. Amy is very good at writing dialog. This is an enjoyable read as are all the Pineapple Port Books. This is one of my favorite series. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Who is Hunting Who? This is the 11th book of a humorous cozy mystery series that is best read in publishing order. There are a couple of story arcs that build on themselves in each book. However, each book is its own, complete mystery. In this book, somebody or somebodies are looking to kill and our favorite couple is at the top of the list. There are many twists and turns in the story. In the end, the reader knows that certain characters will be back to stir the pot again. I have been binge-reading the series and have really been enjoying it. The mysteries are good and there is so much humor!
Hurricanes disrupts lives. Throw in snowbird hoarders and a serial killer on the loose and things really get dicey for every one especially Charlotte and Declan. An elaborate plan to release Jamie, the Puzzle Killer, from prison is undertaken. Has she decided to add Hoarder Killer to her resume? Or is it someone else?
No matter how long it is between books in this series within a few sentences it's like I never left Pineapple Port. My favorite line in the book is “This is Florida. Godzilla is always a possibility.”
This was one of the best books so far! Between the impending hurricane, deaths made to look like hurricane preparations accidents, and snowbirds hoarding everything and a homicidal maniac after Charlotte and Duncan things are happening quick in Pineapple Port! If things aren’t bad enough Darla calls in Gloria! The queen of revenge! There was plenty of action in this book. We also see more into the twisted relationship between Stephanie and her mom. I love this series and this book. I highly recommend this book! It will help you relax and have a good laugh!
When Jamie breaks out of prison, she has two things on her mind - molding her daughter in her image and removing the obstacle holding her back. A little revenge would be icing on the cake.
I have to hand it to her, Jamie is devious. Thankfully, Declan and Snookie, an FBI agent sent to find Jamie, were around to help save Charlotte. Unfortunately, Stephanie, who was trying to be better had a little relapse.
Another fun story. I just wish Charlotte took warnings a little more seriously.
I love this series! Charlotte and Declan are trying to seek shelter before the big storm hits then a dead body shows up! Mariska and Darla vow to find some toilet paper even if they have to get help from Gloria, which they prefer NOT to do! This is a great story that lets the reader forget everything and just sit back and enjoy a 'take me away' story with awesome characters! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Pineapple Hurricane: A Pineapple Port Mystery by Amy Vansant
I do really love a cozy mystery, and Vansant is one of the best. With amazing plots and hilarious characters, I am often jealous of anyone who gets to read them for the first time. This one, book 11, is no exception. So much trouble, and a hurricane on the way. This one came a bit too close for comfort, my anxiety hitting new levels, but all is well for this HEA.
I live in Ocala Fl and the representation of it being composed entirely of horse country is wrong. I’ve lived through 45 years of hurricanes (south Florida mainly)during my adult years and I’ve NEVER experienced lightening. Tornadoes yes, lightning never. Number of typos and words left out. Story was pretty twisty, I enjoyed it. It wasn’t a solved mystery. It was more reactionary to events and the situation evolved. Not really a mystery.
With a hurricane heading straight for Florida, people are being murdered for hoarding supplies. But is it really that simple? Also, is Stephanie telling Declan the truth - is her serial killer mother really out of prison? Or is she just trying to get back in Declan’s good graces again. Tensions run high as the storm gets closer … and another surprising connection is made to the Shea McQueen series.
Another fun visit to Pineapple Port - under the current Covid isolation time, it was a real treat to read this book. I needed some happiness. Such fun characters and the author has a great writing style.
Ive read all of her books, and received this one through an ARC group that I belong to. What a nice gift!
What do you call a woman who is in prison but she isn’t there??? I don’t know. But I suggest that you keep a notebook close by to write down the various name and name changes. The hurricane has nothing on this group of characters. In spite of this, I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
I really love Amy Vansant's Pineapple Port mystery series. She puts just enough 'history' in each of the books that you are not totally lost if you've started at book 8, but not so much that entire sections were clearly copied and pasted from the last book. Charlotte is a hoot and all of the PP seniors make a totally wacky cast of characters!
Nothing beats disaster in the stores than an impending hurricane. People to crazy buying whatever they can get their hands on. Long gas lines and traffic. It's crazy. I enjoyed this story more than most because hurricane season is something we Florida residents all have in common.
Excellent continuation of the series. Glad I found the Pineapple Port series by Amy Vansant a couple of months ago. They are fun, quick reading, laugh outloud books. A little murder, a little romance, and all the things you could imagine or maybe not about life in a retirement community in Florida. Always ready for the next in the series
Another great story! There is mystery everywhere and being used by everyone! It's not only the mystery but also the hurricane! It's great to know that every person is Pineapple Port is trying to help keep the good guys safe! Unfortunately, the bad guy is way ahead of the game and no is very safe after all!
Frank and Charlotte find out about a dead body in the grass. Then, there's another! But the most important thing is Stephanie 's Mother, Jamie is out of prison. Will Charlotte and Declan survive Jamie and the impending Hurricane?
Another fun romp at Pineapple Port. Charlotte continues to hone her detective skills and the entire crew shows up to help. Throw in a hurricane and hoarders and everyone can relate to this fast paced story. Amy Vansant is magnificent!
Jamie and Stephanie are back to cause trouble. I think Charlotte must have 9 lives....and she has used half of them up. Totally funny bar scene with plugged up toilets...I went looking for another....darn not yet. Keep writing Ms Vansant
Who is on first? So many bad guys, and so many dead guys. This time Charlotte and Declan will need help from unexpected sources. I did enjoy the book. But I found the ending less than satisfactory. Enough said.
The perfect book for 2020, instead of a hurricane we have Covid19! Now we have ideas for those hoarders out there. I laughed 'til I cried. This book hit the right funny bone for me.
Another fun entry in this series. Seemed a bit longer than some other ones, with the same mix of interesting characters, humorous writing, and exciting plot. Well written and edited, worth it if you like mysteries, especially light ones.
Loved it. These books just keep getting better and better. The scenes in some of them Are so hilarious I'm surprised the author was able to write it without cracking up.
