A beautifully executed story of love and cultural differences
The almost dystopian society and the romance, were very well-done, with an almost realistic approach to the creation of this fictional world. This manga also forgoes the "usual" route that many manga take in which there is total lack of concent and "involment" of the FMC , which was rather refreshing! The artwork is also wonderful and the plot captivating.! So was the smut 🤤🤐🥵
[I did read this in English but GR doesn't have a page for it], Oh my god it was so INCREDIBLY CUTE. It's a grumpy/sunshine monster romance, where the grumpy one is so sweet and supportive of the sunshine character.
Beast People live in a city separated by walls from the human world. But when Hana accidently finds a way inside, she's suddenly faced with a tough decision - can she trust the Beast man who she just met, or is he as dangerous as human media portrays his kind?
This manga is adorable, deliciously smutty, and a great story. This probably the least problematic smut manga I have read recently too. (IE the consent isn't ambiguous it's clearly a Yes). The story about a forbidden love involving a Beast man and a human woman is well done and interesting. I liked the nod to Little Red Ridinghood. The art is really really good. Love it!
Bought on eBook Renta so do purchase at least a chapter, if you have the money. Let's normalize reading manga the legit way to help the artist;) https://www.ebookrenta.com/
Gahdam! am I a furry now?? I don't mind this is actually quite okay tho. Heading to the second Vol BRB!
Ahhhh!
4 stars - I discovered the animated trailer for Yuzuki-san's other series, 'With You, Our Love Will Make It Through', and was immediately excited to watch it when it gets released in October. I looked up her work and found that she'd created another series, 'Hana and Mr Beast', which seemed to be set in the same universe... Based on the cuteness level of WYOLWMIT I was not expecting this second series to be smutty, but it was very engaging and I wanted to see more of the love story between Hana and Sana who were just adorable when they were embarrassed. And I love that Sana couldn't control his more puppy-esque reactions, like wagging his tail, when he was around Hana. The story is very simple and too short to get too deep into conversations regarding the racial stereotypes between the two species, but its sweet, adorable, steamy, and perfect for monster romance lovers!
Volume veramente molto dolce e carino.
This is a josei fantasy romance manga with the Grumpy x Sunshine trope. It has its wholesome moments despite it being an interspecies erotica. It's a good story & I'm looking forward to even reading the sequel [Kimi to Koete Koi ni Naru]
Okay, hold up, hear me out. I'm pretty sure this is a prequel to 'With you, our love will make it through', I knew it was pretty much furry I just didn't expect it to be full on smut! So, heads up!
Watching their son's anime right now!! Reading about his parents feels surreal!! Amazing and very spicy!! So many parallels between the son and his love interest and his parents!!
2022 - The first time I've read it, it was in english and I LOVED this love story between a human woman and a therianthrope/'man' dog. I'm not a mangas reader, so this was quite new to me. The consent aspect was good, especially now that I've read others mangas and realized it's not a usual thing. I was quite new to monster romance (and still is) and it was a nice way to discover an other take to those type of HEA. I liked the style of the illustrations, especially about the 'beast man' but was less a fan of the over size boobs vs over skinny aspect of the heroine. But overall I enjoyed the story and was impatient to read book two to see their relationship develop and learn more about the therianthrope society. So when I discovered there was a french paperback, and saw the gorgeous cover, I had to have it. - 4 stars
2023 - I've re-read the book, and I have to admit now some aspects of the story, especially the way the woman is portrayed - the power dynamic in the relationship is presented, make me uncomfortable. Especially as I discovered the author is actually a woman, which surprised me because of the ways full of clichés the heroine is represented (naive, considers herself stupid, keep apologizing, thinks she's 'an easy woman' because she gets wet during intercourse, over focus on the feelings). I don't know if it's the fact that I've read it in french this time, but the way the heroine keep presenting herself didn't sit well with me. Or the hero, when in rut, saying he can't control himself (because of the effect she's on him) and if she stays it's her fault and she has to accept the consequences (aka penetrative s3x). The heroine makes it clear that she's ok with this situation and want to have s3x with him, but the power dynamic being clearly not equal, it still made me uncomfortable.
Maybe I struggled more this time with my re-read because in the meantime I've read the webtoon Atnomen (also written by a woman), which present a love story between a young human woman and a gargoyle. And even if she's a virgin and inexperience (like Hana here) and Rain the gargoyle so very big/strong/experience (like Sanathi here) we never feel that the power dynamic is not equitable between the two main characters. Also the representation of the female character/body is nuanced. That's why I know it's possible to present this kind of love story without objectifying the female body and with communication/respect between the MCs, without loosing on the heat aspect during the sexy times.
About the consent aspect, it's something I honestly don't understand in 2023 that dubious consent in mangas is so common and accepted?! Of course it's always the female character or in a MM story, the male character presented as the 'sensitive' one aka the feminine one who get abused and force to have s3x. It keeps on maintaining the idea that if a man is forcing himself on his partner, it's ok. Which shouldn't be accepted. - 3 stars
