ANCIENT MYTH MEETS DARK SCIENCE, AND GODS AND KINGS WILL RISE AGAIN
Following the events of The God Extinction and The Hidden Persuaders, Dr. Dan Kotler finds himself embroiled in a plot that turns out to be “the family business.”
Kotler’s grandfather—Richard Kotler—has resurfaced, along with thirty-six genetic samples, stolen from various archaeological dig sites worldwide.
Using a new, dark science, and the resources of an ancient order bent on world domination, Richard intends to resurrect gods and kings, and unleash them on the world.
Kotler and his FBI partner, Agent Roland Denzel, race to Göbekli Tepe—the Turkish dig site harboring the oldest known temple in the world—to track down one last key to stopping Richard’s plot.
Will they unravel the mystery in time? Or will the gods once again walk the Earth?

Enthralling, gripping , absorbing, intriguing adventure!!! This book continues the saga of Dr. Daniel Kotler from the events of The Sleeper's War! Dan Kotler and his friend/partner FBI Special Agent Roland Denzel now colleagues in the Historic Crimes division of the NY FBI travel to Gobekli Tepe to investigate a robbery of a probable historical artifact ending in a gruesome murder! From then on, their quest takes them places and during this mission Dan finds out that as far as he is concerned, it has turned into a "family affair!" as it is discovered that his grandfather Richard Kotler is behind all the nefarious business!
In a parallel investigation, Dan's erstwhile love interest Dr. Liz Ludlum and FBI Agent Dani Brown are planning to expose a key person in the Historic Crimes. Aiding them is Granger, an old acquaintance of Dan along with Senator Acosta who undergoes an extraordinary transformation to become a strong person and tries to help in the capture of a cult leader with a lot of power and influence.
How Dan with the help of Denzel overcomes obstacles, figures out the encryption keys and protects humans from the consequences of a horrifying genetic experimentation forms the content of this brilliant, exemplary narrative. It takes the reader on such an exhilarating journey that it becomes impossible for the reader to put the book down until it is all read!!
It is an amazing experience to read through the beautiful chronicle with all its captivating and charming characters!! It was such a pleasure to come across the Sergeant and his team in action!!
I should put every word of this review in capital letters, but this would interfere with remarking something. This book is TERRIFIC!!! I've read the note of Mr. Tomlinson about the history behind the writing of this novel. I understand perfectly the circumstances of the pandemic fall over the whole planet, because Covid affected all of us too. But finally the novel reached us to enjoy one of the most emotionally beautiful plot in the series. I've had my hair rising each new chapter, and crying buckets for DB. I'm NOT AGAINST ANY CHARACTER FOR ITS POLITICAL FACE, OR COLOR, OR ANYTHING BUT ITS PLACE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NOVEL. Go ahead, Mr. Tumlinson. THANK YOU. Monica Beltrami. Montevideo, Uruguay. The inverted heart in South America, between Argentina and Brazil.
Ha! Not in this book. Maybe the next one, but don’t count on it. There are some changes afoot in this book, like maybe this is one of those transitional novels, preparing to shoot us off in different and unexpected directions. OK, sounds good to me. I’m in.
In his notes at the end, Tumlinson relates that some folks were upset over his portrayal of Senator Acosta. Good grief. Did you find his books in the current events section or in the FICTION section? Get a grip folks. These are made-up stories, not real life. Brilliant, thrilling, engrossing, imaginative, spectacular, thought-provoking stories, to be sure. (Did I get all of those right Mr. T?) (jk) Anyhoo, I love the Kotler stories and I, for one will keep reading them, despite Tumlinson’s politics, religion, morals or whatever. Just keep writing good stories, dude.
“ The God Resurrection “ is by far the best book that Kevin Tumlinson has written in The Dan Kohler Series. You wouldn’t think that this being book 11 it would be much different than the other 10, all 5 stars in my opinion. This one will surprise you. It is non-stop action from the beginning to the end. I was glued to my chair while reading it. Plus many of the questions we had been wondering about as he built this series up are finally answered. I love this series. I have read most of Mr. Tumlinson’s books from early in his career and he has done an amazing switch from Sci-Fi to writing the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time. This series is definitely worth reading and owning. Fantastic books by a fantastic author. Start it today!
Though Kotler is the biggest reason I love this series, the last couple of novels have stepped away from him being the main focus as much and have given us more of the secondary characters. I didn’t think I would appreciate this, but I did. The author is building a bigger world, and its working. Continuing from the last book, this piece sees Historic Crimes in its new iteration working its first case. A murder has occurred at Gobleki Tepe and Agent Denzel and Kotler are called to the scene. Suddenly, Kotler realizes it isn’t just a murder, it’s a robbery and his family name is involved. If you’re a fan of Dan Brown and James Rollins you’ll enjoy this series.
Kevin did a wonderful job with this story. He was able to build all of his characters. Although, I especially enjoyed his after notes. I’m sorry some people have issues with Acosta’s characterization. After all, this is just a STORY. It’s almost like today’s political climate. While I support the right to protest, I don’t support the write to loot, vandalize and burn others property. Kevin did a fabulous job on this book and can’t wait for others, however I love Kotler, Denzel and Liz.
Daniel and Historic Crimes take on some more power crazed humans. Once again, it's Kotler senior who is trying to bring back the gods. Fortunately for the world Daniel won't crack the code for the thumb drive. Once again, the forces of reason triumph, and the power crazed are locked away. But, the Jani, and the new gods still in operation, how long the peace will last is debatable
Well another outstanding book by Kevin. I had planned for this to be the last book in this series to read but now I am hoping that he continues the series indefinitely. His characters are very believeable and continue to grow in each book. I would strongly recommend you start with the first one although he does reference what basically happened in previously books to said character. I strongly recommend this series especially if you enjoy archeology.
The God Resurrection is the eleventh book in the Dan Kotler series and probably my favorite one yet. Some storylines are closed and others are opened up. It was a satisfying conclusion to some of those storylines.
With the Historic Crimes department starting new and with an expanded charter, Dan and Denzel are off to investigate the latest plot by Richard Kotler at a Turkish dig site, while Liz and Dani are left keeping an eye on the new head of Historic Crimes, Kendell Young. As Richard attempts to realize his dream of bringing the old gods back to life and Kendell continues to pull strings that will bring him more power, our heroes are going to try to take both players down for good.
I’ve read all of the Dan Kotler books so far and this had to be one of my favorites. Kevin does a great job of showing character growth as we continue to see the fallout of Richard Kotler’s life work and how it tarnishes Dan’s and the Historic Crime department. There’s some major growth for several of the characters, including a particular politician, that I wasn’t expecting. You’ll definitely want to read the previous book or two to catch all of the plot points, but Kevin does a good enough job of filling you in on the details if you want to be a rebel and start with this one. This book dealt a lot with hidden agendas and Dan’s struggle to right the wrongs of his recent past.
I received a beta copy of this book to help check for errors and am leaving an honest review. I then went ahead and bought the book because I enjoyed it so much. I read at least the last 60% of this book in one day because I couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking at this one, you’ve probably already are somewhat familiar with the Dan Kotler series, but if not, this series is very much in the vein of Indiana Jones or the tv show Bones (in my opinion). It’s a pretty easy read, but full of interesting information. I especially like the author notes at the end of the book where Kevin kind of tells us what he was going through when he wrote the book, kind of like a director’s commentary. I’d definitely recommend it to fans of historical or archaeological thrillers.
I LOVE Denzel and Kotler as a team! They work exceptionally well together and know each other well. This book is a continuation of a story and I really wonder what is next for our characters! Will Dan and Liz get back together? Does Grandfather get caught? Read it and see!!
One of the best in the series. A couple of scenes stretched the boundaries of even suspended believability, but overall very entertaining, tight and well crafted. I have to admit, though I have sincerely enjoyed this series, I think it's about time for Dan to fall to his death inside a cave. There's a reason we only have three Indiana Jones episodes.
What more can I say that I have already said this wonderful book series? This novel was just as fantastic as I expected it to be! The story builds on the last ones but yet could be self contained as well! I can't wait to see and read what happens need next!
Another excellent Dan Not Let novel, following along the lines of the Jani and Noviselles (sp). He story had its usual twists and turns with some real surprises and a bittersweet incident at the end. It was sufficiently engaging for me to read It in two sittings...a page turner that was hard to put down!
You needed to read the previous book to fully get the context of this one. Started out excellently, had a few twists, and then moved quickly and somewhat predictably to conclusion--although there is a gotcha that was not expected, and a possible set-up for another in the series, but I won't give it away. IF you are a Dan Kotler fan, this one won't disappoint.
As ever, I didn’t want to put it down once started. This guy has a talent for writing that deserves to be read. I won’t stop reading, all the time he keeps writing. And to the moaners about the political content, “THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION ! GET OVER IT.”
I loved this book . This whole series was everything you could possibly want in a archeology thriller. Starting with the first I just couldn't stop reading. One after another they were great! I just kept going and I don't want to stop now. When is the next coming out?
In this book, we learn quite a bit about Dan Kotler's parents and it is quite a revelation, that has quite an impact on what is going on in the story. Riveting as always with more and more action. A lot of changes for the Historic Crimes Division and Dani Brown is killed while trying to arrest the head of Novensiles, who is also a Jani.
As if any follows with my reviews I have become frustrated at times with his desire to rush and create cliff hangers like the old serial movie clips.TCM has provided many oppurtunities for comparison. In this book Tumlinson did not jump the shark in a manner expected Good.
I was looking for an author that has books similar to James Rollins and found it in author Kevin Tomlinson. This book was fast paced and written very well. Senator Acosta being a parody of AOC did not bother me because I didn't make the connection until I read the author's notes at the end.
This story kept me on the edge of my seat. Dan Kolteris not on the trail of the evil forces in the secret organization this trying to change humanity. Some unexpected twists that will set you back. And the further development of the historic crimes unit.
This was one of his best books. Storylines completed and new ones to begin. Chapters closed. I read the book in one sitting. Can't give away details, read it and enjoy.
This is my first Dan Kotler book and I loved it. Great characters and a riveting storyline, intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read more!
Dan Kotler goes to an archeological dig where a murder has occurred. The crime scene has been cleaned up and the leads to the killer were nonexistent. Kidnapped and taken to a massive structure he needs to come to terms with his own history.
The combination of historical, archeological, and scientific genres turns into great mysteries with Kevin's skill of character development and intrigue!
Kevin has a great ability to keep you engaged with his characters and ongoing story line. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Kotler and the Historic Crimes team!!
Picking up where the last novel ended, this tale is wild. There is a view into Kotler’s young life and his parents. And more about the person who was/is his grandfather. A secondary part of the story is the Jani vs the Novensiles. Full of action and great characters.
I love rereading these books, it's like the first time every time! The mystery and terror and history are so exciting! Thank you Kevin Tomlinson for every single Kotler adventure!
Kevin Tumlinson has once again given us an intriguing story with fabulous characters. He follows it up with personal notes which are highly engaging. The God Resurrection is marvelous and greatly thought provoking and entertaining.
Loved this book! Kevin Tumlison is one of my favorite authors. I enjoy how he weaves intrigue with history and suspense. His does all this without excessive violence, sex or language. Great book, great author.
