I just realized this is my 13th read from this author! Cudos to her!!👏👏👏
This story was different from other stories I have read. I usually don't like slow burn romances, but this one is so good developed and so nicely done, you would not be bothered by it. The story grips you from the start to the end, it never gets boring or annoyed.
The writing is amazing, the characters development too.
I love heroes/heroines who have let's say minor psychological disorders that make their emotional world so interesting to discover.
The hero Deacon has an antisocial disorder and it seems that he has issue comprehending sarcasm, double meanings, sometimes emotions. It was really cute to see how this guy who was super smart and highly intelligent and had won a Nobel prize in Medicine and owned his own Pharmaceutical Company couldn't communicate his feelings and struggled a lot in human interaction.
He's gorgeous, tall, dark hair, hazelnut eyes and billionaire, very fit...he is hard not to look at. He hates attention and human interaction.
Cleo was a very interesting heroine. She's smart and dedicated in her work and has a tragic story. The whole description of her appearance made me think of Lilly Colins.
I love how this girl penetrated his world day by day with intelligence.
Deacon is divorcing his wife a gold digger who he married only because she remained pregnant. He has an adorable son of 4 years old who is his spitting image and has his brains too. He loves his son so much, he's the only person who has made his heart beat. When you will read how much he loves his son it will melt your heart!
I won't reveal more from the story because this is a journey you should do yourself in order to enjoy the book.
The only 2 small things I didn't like: 1st Deacon not thanking Cleo during the whole story for her help, I thoughtthat was rude not something related to being antisocial...but he does in the end and that kinda makes it up, because when he said those two words, it was so impactful you understand why the author went that route.
An other thing I disliked was the use of the phrase "I would do anything and everything for my clients" that Cleo uses a lot. I found it illogical since the clients could ask all sorts of things even sexual or impossible, so I think that was a bit too much and stupid. Even though you will see how work is her only family, the use of the words everything and anything was too much.
But yeah this were the only things I didn't like.
Otherwise this book was awesome and can't wait for the next book to come out! I highly recommend it!
