Duncan Kinsley🐺🍆⛲, the widowed Earl of Sulby, cannot seem to keep a governess for his three children. The oldest is fifteen year old Nancy, an angry, resentful, cynical and sour young lady. The other two, fraternal twins, are little ten year old terrors. He doesn't realize it is Nancy who is running off the governesses.

Emily💃 Fletcher's father was a successful shipping merchant until his wife died three years ago. Then he just fell apart, getting into drinking and gambling, until one awful night 🌙he traded away his only child, Emily💃💋💔, to a brothel owner willing to pay off all his debts. The brothel owner👺 falsely tells Emily's father he is going to marry👰 her!
Luckily a fire 🔥allows Emily💃💋💔 to escape the brothel on the first 🌙night! She finds sanctuary at a ⛪church and the vicar and his family give her references to find work as a governess.
She goes to work for Duncan🐺🍆⛲, and immediately falls in love with the two twins, but Nancy is rude and distant to her. Duncan 🐺🍆⛲is intrigued by Emily💃💋 from the very beginning!

I really enjoyed this story about two reluctant people who want love 💘, but are afraid to commit, for different reasons. Duncan, because he's an Earl, is worried that society won't accept Emily, even though she's well educated and a gentlewoman. After a while, he finally realizes he doesn't give a dam# what society thinks!
There were a few minor continuity problems in the book but not enough to confuse the plot.

I enjoyed this historical romance with all of the characters. The two main characters were Miss Emily Fletcher and Duncan Kinsley the Earl of Sulby.
Miss Emily Fletcher lives with her father in the country. Her father has been having a hard time since the death of her mother. What scars her the most is when her father brings a stranger home. The next day she finds out that the stranger made a deal with her father. This deal will change her life forever.
Duncan Kinsley the Earl of Sulby is a widowed father of three children. His children have been having a hard time keep a governess that will stay. He is quite desperate to have a new governess to look after his children. So when the agency sends a new governess over he quite surprised by the young woman.
This was a fun story to read. It had laughs throughout that had me laughing at them. There was quite a bit of suspense throughout the story.
I decided to try and read this story after seeing it on Amazon.This is my honest unbiased opinions.

The lack of serious parental love and care, landed a sweet young woman in a dangerous location in a brothel! Read how she rescued herself and with help from the local church became governess to a Duke's motherless children.

Another emotional thriller
This is another thriller that is full of suspense and emotional turmoil. As usual Olivia,s books never disappoint, and the characters in this steamy tale are amazingly portrayed. Making this a very enjoyable and entertaining read.

Emily is taken from her home by a man telling her father he wants to marry her. She escapes and goes to a church where they help her find a position as a governess. The children love her and their father starts to care for too

Good, fast paced story of family, loss, grief, evil, treachery and love. Emily's father descended into alcohol after her mother's death Once a well to do merchant, he has gambled and drank away everything. When business agreement is settled with the payment of all Arthur's debt in exchange for Emily's hand in marriage, her fate is sealed. After a trip to London, she learns there is to be no marriage and she is held in a brothel until she is auctioned to the highest bidder. When a fire breaks out, Emily escapes and finds sanctuary at a church. Taken in by the vicar and his wife, Emily is given a good reference as a governess and ends up in the widowed Earl's house taking care if his young twins and older daughter. Of course, this is not the end of the story. Emily is undermined by the older daughter even as she and the Earl grow closer and the twins adore her. Treachery, betrayal and danger are part of this exciting story. I highly recommend thre book and this author

Fast read but this one didn't win me over. The pacing felt off and the characters felt very one dimensional. Plus...Duncan didn't seem to be that wicked in my opinion. There are a few editing issues too.
