Welcome to Witch Hazel Lane... It’s time to roll out the welcome mat at the charming but definitely haunted Hampton House! Not only is Birdie Devaine finished with her house renovation, she’s also invited her closest friend from Vegas to come visit. It should be a fun get-together, right? But that’s not how things work for Birdie these days. Her magic is going haywire, she’s got a couple of unwanted guests party-crashing, while the secret ghosts of Hampton House are no longer such a big secret… And in the thick of it all is the unthinkable—her friend’s soul has gone missing. Even after all this time, Birdie’s starting to wonder if maybe this place isn’t just haunted, but rather cursed… This book contains plenty of southern sass, friendship, some delicious comfort food, and a little bit of magic along the way!

This is instalment was probably the most emotionnal one so far...Birdie is receiving her friend from Vegas Corinne after months without seeing her and a friend to whom she still hasn't said what she is. To say she is stressed is an euphemism but thankfully all her friends are there to help....even more when magic goes wrong and Corinne is stuck somewhere. Marguerite and Lucifer are teaming with simple non magical being to support Birdie and find a solution...all while Griffter and Marguerite have trouble with their ghost form becoming more corporal or moving without their intent...
I loved to see how the group stayed together and knew Birdie better than herself, i also loved to see how compasionnate she is and the action was really well written meaning even needed some tissues a time or two.
Really a great instalment but better read in order, if you love southern paranormal cozy mystery this is for you

This is the 4th installment of the Witch Hazel Lane Mysteries and I suggest you read them all in order or you will be lost. Birdie’s former assistant flies in to spend time with Birdie for a couple of weeks. During this time, Birdie hopes to come clean with who she really is. Not too long after Corrine arrives but everything goes crazy! Birdie’s best friends descends with gifts and snacks, and not long after that does Birdie get a visit from another witch named Marguerite and she’s got Lucifer in tow. This is where you’ll need to have read the previous books, so you’ll understand what’s been going on in a larger story arc. Marguerite and Lucifer have discovered that the leak in magic seems to be coming from somewhere near where Birdie lives and they’ve come to not only ask for help in dealing with the anomaly, but also for a place to stay while they’re taking care of the problem. Even though there’s no love lost between Birdie and both Marguerite and Lucifer, Birdie agrees to allow them to stay. Shortly after she agrees, things start to go crazy and now they’ve got to find Corrine’s soul and get it back into her body as fast as possible. I’m truly enjoying this witchy cozy mystery series! I devoured this book as I could, I didn’t want to stop reading it. I love all the characters, the writing is so well done you’d swear you’re sitting on Birdie’s back porch sipping sweet tea with the ladies, and the story keeps you engaged and wanting more. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series. **I read this book using my Kindle Unlimited subscription
Entertaining wiki cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters in an entertaining storyline. If I had to describe it in simplest terms. I would say I think the ladies from the Golden girls living in a small Southern town and one of them is a witch. They always seem to stumble upon a murder a mystery or some other crime. Then they solve it. On occasion it is a more widespread issue. Five women who all have their own lives their own homes but they’re all best buds. When Bertie who is a witch moves back to the town she was originally from And meets new friends. She is technically 130 something years old but only looks like she is in her 50s. 05 women are in their 50s or 60s and have a nose for trouble. Check it out
Corinne, Birdie's former Las Vegas assistant, comes for a 2 week visit. Birdie tells her about her magical life and Corinne wants Birdie to show her some magic. While demonstrating her magic, a glitch in the power (which has been plaguing the magical community) field causes Corinne's soul to separate from her body. Birdie teams up with Lucifer and Marguerite to figure out the cause and correct the problem. A meteorite has hit the ley lines and caused a leak. Together the 3 magicals and Birdies friends try to correct the problem. Birdie must enter the astral plain to help reunite Corinne's body and soul. Will she be successful or will Birdie also be forever lost in the astral plain. Can her friends both mortal and magical be successful in helping both Birdie and Corinne return?
Talk about a visit gone wrong! This story has touching elements, like Birdie having to say goodbye to a dear friend; there are angsty memory lane moments; there's complex magic use; and numerous examples of pure friendship are woven into the storyline. I do believe by Book 4 there should be answers regarding why Birdie's home life was so miserable and the whereabouts of of her parents; also, the romantic relationships are rather awkward for women in this age group. That said, this is still an enjoyable series.
Birdie has no more secrets from her friends after a snafu with a magical nexus sends Corrine's soul to the astral plane. Everyone, including Lucifer, joins together to rescue her. Lots of magic, friendship, and tears going on.
This was a fantastic read. I have read the first couple of books and this one was the best. The ending was beautiful. A great read. I totally recommend it. A box of Kleenex would probably be a good investment. Just saying.
I enjoy this series alot, I love Birdie and most of her friends, every chapter has a title that's awesome. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily choose to reveiw

Now that Bridie is well settled and her house renovation almost complete, Corinne her bestie from her Vegas days agreed to visit and Birdie can hardly wait. It has been such a long time since they saw each other, with such a lot to catch up on and of course, Birdie will have to come clean about her being a witch but that was ok. What was not OK was Marguerite and Lucifer turning up at her door, telling her that there is a magical leak and that the best way for them to try to locate it would be to be house guests at hers. And that was even before things turned well wonky!
An exciting read which is helped along if you have read the previous books in order to really appreciate the problem. I can so empathise with Birdie, feel her guilt, frustration and confusion. Nice one, Collins.
Birdie has finally finished her house renovations and is excited to have her friend Corinne from Las Vegas coming for a visit. Birdie has confessed that she’s a witch and while she’s giving Corinne a demonstration of her powers something goes terribly wrong and Corinne’s soul is ripped from her body. Corinne’s soul and her body need to be reunited before the separation becomes permanent and Corinne is lost forever.
I think this was my favorite installment of the series so far. The story is focused on the issues to be dealt with and there isn’t a lot of extra fluff to fill out the book. It kept my interest till the end.
Birdie and her crew are back. I loved this book, in my opinion it's the best one so far in the Witch Hazel Lane Series. This is a little different than the last 3 books, think that's the reason I liked it so much. Tea on the Tombstone is story of friendship and what friends do for each other. Birdie's past and present meet in this book. I loved how Birdie's new friends rallied around her to help make things right. I found Tea on the Tombstone fun and entertaining. J.L. Collins did not disappoint me with Tea on the Tombstone. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Once again, Birdie finds herself in a difficult situation. This time it's not murder but a lost soul. Literally lost to the astral plane. Her Vegas friend, Corinne, is visiting simultaniously with an unexpected visit from Lucifer (yes, that Lucifer) and a powerful witch. The explaination give can be summed up to magic has gone wonky and Corinne was in the wrong spot at the wrong time. You're just going to have to read about it for yourself! So many intricate details, ya know! Plus there is that mounting anxiety and suspense JL Collins does so well! Interesting addition to a fun series.
Birdie has finally finished the inside of her house and has her old personal assistant coming for a visit. It’s unfortunate that her ghost dog Grifter has decided to make in person visits at this time. But nothing else could go wrong, could it?
Fortunately, Corinne isn’t murdered, she just loses her soul. Now can Birdie, her friends, and Lucifer find it in time. I love this series and this little Mississippi town.
A story with strong friendships. Birdie's friend from her Vegas life comes to visit and soon is in trouble. Birdie's friends from her new life are eager to help save her other friend. Birdie also has a strong friendship with a spirit and the spirit is eager to help as well as Birdie's former boyfriend, Lucifer. It's nice to see so many strong friendships.
4.0 out of 5 stars A lost soul but the reno is complete! Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2020
Birdie is ready to show off the renovations and invites an old friend. What could possibly go wrong? Lots of fun characters and an unusual mystery add to the charm of this book and this series. I love visiting Witch Hazel Lane! I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
I can't find it in me to love this series. There is nothing wrong with it. The writing is well-done. Plots are not necessarily unique or exciting, but they hold together well enough. I just haven't developed any real strong feelings for any of the characters. It just doesn't appeal strongly to me.
I really enjoy reading this series. I think this is my favorite so far. Well written original story with great characters. I look forward to reading more.
