An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures, charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (elementary; MS age) jokes storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational presentation (jokes). There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

More than a belly full of laughs!
Smiley Beagle, the author(s) of this new book, appear to be making a debut with the YOU LAUGH YOU LOSE SERIES of which this is Book 1. In their introduction, they state, ‘We wrote this book to make you laugh. We think laughing is one of the best things there is to do in the whole world. And that is why we want to share it with as many people as we can. We want you to love our jokes! And we want you to tell them everywhere you go! In the car, on a boat, in the dentist’s chair! Wherever you think people could use a good laugh. Sharing laughter is the best thing about telling a joke, but the second-best thing is that people tell jokes they hear. So make as much laughter as you can and have fun doing it!’ Some Rules: “Each player takes turn reading a joke from the book. If somebody laughs, then the person reading it gets a point. Then the book is given to the other player, and it is their turn to read...The first person to reach 7 points wins!’
And with that gleeful tone the book opens to 300 jokes with the topics of Nature, Animals, People, Body, Guessing, Food and Geography. A few examples tempt us:
What happens if it rains cats and dogs? You need to watch for poodles!
What is a volcano? A mountain with hiccups!
Why did the Smartphone need glasses? It lost all its contacts!
Where do hamburgers like to dance? The meatball!
Fun and funky, this is a treasure trove for the whole family (remember that, 6 year olds…!!!) Recommended.
