I really loved this series. When Victoria Brie walks into her home late one afternoon to find her parents being murdered by a light elf, her father passes onto her an artifact. Now, we're not talking about a family clock or something; he pushes a dagger under the skin of her arm. The dagger is absorbed magically, letting Victoria use it as a shield or sword in times of need. So Victoria and her friend, Audrey, head out to find Fyrn Folly, a friend of her parents who can help her with all of this. And what Victoria hopes will help her destroy the person who killed her parents. Great story, great characters. Well written. I am truly hoping that one day there is another book to this series because I enjoyed it so much.
I'm probably a bit older than the usual reader but I love these books and the world they take me to. I'm hoping their might b another in this series as I think it's been left open for one, just don't leave it too long.
The story contained paranormal violence from the elf Luack, Victoria's mother and father were killed by Luack. Victoria reciveded artifacts on her arm a knife, sword and shield which she needed to learn how to use to protect herself and Audrey her best friend. ma The two learn to battle when they meet Fyrrn a wizard . The two get involved in several dangerous journeys making them heroines.
I added this to my wishlist while.it was on offer...got impatient and clicked on buy...and so glad I did!! Rather a 'in at the deep end' and lots of preamble at the beginning, which I did find a little frustrating...but boy did it improve...it exploded with wonderful characters, adventure galore, and a family that keeps growing. Such a wonderful set...from two great authors!!! Yet again ;-)!!!
I love this series! These books captured me from the beginning. There is action, characters to root for and ones to root against, a lot of snark, adventure and more. They read fast and you will find yourself immersed in the story. My only complaint is that the ending came very abruptly. The final could have gone on a bit longer while briefly showing it from the perspectives of the other main characters.
I was hooked the instant that first artifact bonded with her! I do believe this was my first encounter with this type of magic. Every time I had to stop, for stupid real life getting in the way of my fantasies, I couldn't wait to get back to it. And I absolutely adored Victoria, Audrey, and all of their friends. They all but manifested before me in the flesh. THIS "Team M & M" rocks!
Yes,this has been a wonderful ride! I read them all in 2 days. I could not stop, I had to see the victory of Victoria and all her friends. Relief at the wonderous moment that adding another artifact did not change her from good to evil. Ty Martha and Michael for an exceptional piece of work. Typos and all...lol Oh I would love a Mug!☺
Really enjoyed this series of books, the story is charming, exciting and so enjoyable. I loved the characters, the heroine & her friends are lovely. The does and monsters very believable. I feel this is aimed more for the older teenage/ young adult audience, but even though I am a grandmother i thourghly enjoyed every last page.
If not for the last book, its really the serise of "good girls put up with sequel harassment," "boys will be boys," and "its just because he likes you." Really damaged what was otherwise a good plot with good characters - except the dude who doesn't get no. At least the heroine doesn't end up "in love" with her harasser.
The world building with these authors is astonishing and incredible. There is always interesting and detailed characters with enough faults and quirks to charm you into a full belief of their cause. These are some of my favourite authors and this series is a good example of their skill.
What did I like? The suspense, the humor and the unexpected twists of the storyline but most of all the development of these characters. Their strengths compliment each other and through it all their commitment to their fellow compatriots and willingness to sacrifice all for the greater good. Riviting! I can't wait to delve into Victoria's next saga.
This was too slow for me. An engaging premise, this would definitely be a good story for young people. Victoria was angst ridden as a teen obviously, upon the murder of her parents, but it just didn't progress fast enough to hold my attention.
From book one to book four I couldn’t stop reading. From beginning to end it drew you in. There was never a dull moment and of course in all good books evil was defeate
When a young girl is thrown into a world of fairy tales and magic, as her own family and everything she has known are destroyed, her strength of character shines through.
It was a fun group of books that tell a story that is amazing. The characters are very different from what I've seen in the other series as a whole and it was just a lighter feeling to the whole story in my opinion.
Enjoyed this story. Keep my interest throughout. Characters were fascinating and had laughs as well ad a serious storyline with strong characters. Read and enjoy as much as I have. Good reading.
Wow Victoria and Audrey sure went on a ride that changed their futures. Adventure, good world building, great characters, magic, tragedy, and action. I hope this is not the end of Victoria and Audrey since the ending made it seem there would be more.
I am reading these books in the strangest order but I am really enjoying this series and all the books that come before and after. I can't wait to see what happens in the next set of books I read as these kept me up well past my bedtime for many nights
Very entertaining. I could hardly put it down! I will continue to read this series as long as it lasts. Thank you Martha and Michael for transporting me to another time and place for a while! I truly enjoyed it.
A wonderfully written epic adventure that will keep the reader glued to the page! I wait with anticipation to see how Queen Victoria and her team triumph over the mysterious woman who directed Luak!
Martha Carr has an ability to create good guys and bad guys. But it's the way she writes her characters to make them so realistic that brings them to life. Throw in a world of magic and creatures of all kinds and once again you have the perfect escape.
Excellent series. Loved the attention to details. Until the end. It leaves you HANGING!!! Not really complete if the boss of the villain is coming for the victors with NO FOLLOWING BOOKS!!! Worth reading if you don't mind not knowing how it really ENDS!!!🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
This book was met another cracking read Mather just can't stop writing great fast paced story's I could not put them down the characters are so completely there your on board from the opening page
Loved the whole boxed set from cover to cover. Once again Martha and Michael y’all have taken me on a wonderful magical journey. Thank you so very much ♥️❤️🥰 Now it’s on to the next set😁
I enjoyed these books. I have enjoyed most of Martha Carr's books. And most of Michael Anderle's books as well. I hope others enjoy these books as much as I have.
