A Vampire, a Shifter, and an Elemental walk into a bar…
Okay, I’m kidding. This isn’t the set up for some bad joke. This is the set up for my life in a world that has gone mad.
After my parents were murdered in cold blood, I took to the streets alone. I hid in fear of my life, keeping my head down and harnessing my powers. That only worked for so long. Eventually, I was caught and brought to the worst place on Earth…The Devil’s Pit.
It’s a supernatural prison camp with one purpose – to take advantage of and experiment on those gifted with supernatural abilities. Prisoners are nothing more than fleshy guinea pigs that are victims of assault, inhumane testing, psychological abuse, and eventually… execution.
If I’m going to survive this genocide, I’ll need help…And that’s where the Vampire, Shifter, and Elemental come in.
Zane, Gray, and Elliot are 3 badass and ruggedly handsome supernatural beings. They unlock something within me that I’ve never felt before, and our bond is only growing stronger. With all four of us together, I think we have a fighting chance at surviving...
My name is Raven, and this is my story.
(This 100,000 word dark paranormal reverse harem romance contains sizzling hot scenes, a 5-star story line, an HEA ending, and a stronger-than-life female protagonist. Mature Audience Only!)
Naomi Martin is a dark romance author and reverse harem junkie. She enjoys writing bully themed novels and triggering story lines, while still maintaining strong female leads. At the moment, she is voraciously writing her dark reverse harem high school bully romance series, Sapphire Bay High, and is also working on a TOP-SECRET side project that has yet to be announced.
The Devil's Pit: Paranormal Reverse Harem Prison Romance by Naomi Martin this story is so amazing to read. This is book number one in this amazing start to a brand new paranormal prison series that I loved reading and can not wait to read the rest of this amazing series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about paranormal reverse harems, paranormal prison stories, romantic suspense, dark and paranormal romances.

This book got me all twisted . This story is a PNR RH that is set in a prison . Raven our H is is this kick butt with a crazy personality to the point she just doesn’t know when to shut it. At times I just really wanted her to be quiet . She is captured and brought to the prison where she meets her 3 loves. - this book as the torture , almost rape scene ( in case of trigger). I was fine with it all. - the doctors I felt could have been dealt with more . More depth into their research and Villa is supposed to be the one she hates the most but I just didn’t feel it . - when they mentioned Earth, Wind , Fire and Water I couldn’t get the Avatar out my mind . I kept laughing . - the ending felt rushed after a slow stretched out beginning . The whole break out was done before it begun. Give me guts and glory . Overall , I personally would have love some more depth into the characters, what motivated them from the H to the villains , just couldn’t get excited about anyone . I give this 3 stars because overall it as potential and it’s not a bad read .

The Devil's Pit has the X-Men's theme of human sapiens superior. Having extraordinary superior power is a crime.
Raven was a normal girl until she hit puberty. Along with being a teenager, she developed power as an elemental. Her parents protected her the best they could until they were murdered. She was eventually captured and was taken to the Devil's Pit, which is a prison for being a shifter, vampire, and elemental (aka supernatural).
The story emphasized on prejudice, bullying, and sexual degradation to people who are different from them. The soldiers and scientists allowed fear and hate to suppress and assert their power over that the supernaturals.
Through Raven's perspective, the readers experienced the treatment among the soldiers and scientists toward the supernaturals. The supernaturals were just young adults that haven't figured how the world works. They were turned in by their parents or taken by their parents. They were treated less than humans as guinea pigs. The boys are forced to fight against each other as sports while the girls are treated as sex slaves. Quid prop quo come in especially for the girls if they want their lives to be a bit easier in the prison.
Raven has to be a strong heroine just to keep her self-respect and to fight off the advances of the prison guard in charge. Becoming more than friends with Zane, Gray, and Elliot, she might be able to learn the extent of her power and to control it and be able to escape from the Devil's Pit.
Great story with a heroine who has anger issues from the trauma of watching her parents being murdered in front of her and a homeless friend killed while trying to save her.
The question is what next for Raven, Zane, Gray, and Elliot.
The narrator, Emma Tigan was great. I was able to distinguish the voices of each of the characters. Not too many narrators are able to do this. I'm glad the author made the right choice in selecting her.
For readers and listeners, if they are fan of X-Men, New Mutants, and Generation X, this would be a book to read.
I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided to write an unbiased review for this audiobook. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.
3,75 stars. A much, much better book by Naomi Martin I have to admit, after reading Martin's Lakeshore Fae Academy, I was reluctant picking up a book by that author again. (I've left a review on that book's page, if you're curious.) But The Devil's Pit, was actually a much better book. The plot and the pacing are solid, the characters all have distinct voices and the foursome relationship starts slow, eases in and actually makes sense for all involved. The sex scenes flow much better. The prison set up is interesting as well and I would like to learn more about this world, especially about the elementals who have sided with the bad guys and work for them.
I would have given this a solid 4 stars, if it wasn't for the writing that I feel still is a bit clunky and repetitive. (For example, sentences like "I saw the earnestness in his eyes and knew what he was going to say would be truth." or "I felt the excitement rush through me and I was very excited.") But my understanding is that this is a new writer and judging by the vast difference in quality between Lakeshore Fae Academy and this book, I think we can expect great things from her in the future as she matures in her craft :-)
This is a new take on an ever-growing genre (reverse harem). Raven is an elemental, she has powers and has been sought after to be imprisoned for it. Once captured her life changes even further, meeting 3 men (Elliot, Grey, and Zane, who complete her) and being tested to discover where her unique power comes from and what she can do.
I was thoroughly taken with this story, reading through it quickly. I fell in love with each of the relationships Raven has with her men, and the growth that each character goes through despite the oppressive situation that they are in. Strong female protagonist who isn't afraid to kick butt and stand up for herself and others. This story includes aspects of fighting an oppressive system and finding ones self despite the challenges.
*minimal spoilers/warnings* Please note there is aspects of rape culture (it is a prison setting) and physical violence against females and males. No MM, though MFM occurs. Happy ending for this book, but set up to be first in a series.

Elementals. Vampires. Shifters. None were exempt as these monsters were rounded up, put in cages, tested, tortured, and kept under control by a silver necklace designed to restrain their powers. This worked fine until Raven McCabe was captured and sent to Kilo-Five-Five. Otherwise known as The Devil's Pit. The place of no return. Where experiments and torture ensued under the guise of science. Security was impossible to bypass. There was no way out. If someone had tried before, they didn't succeed. Hope was fleeting.
Raven hated the attention to be on her. She wanted to be left alone. Yet her attention was caught and held. Not knowing why, Raven could feel her powers expanding and knew Elliot, Gray and Zane were the cause. Likewise, the elemental, shifter, and vampire felt the same. As terror continued to haunt the foursome, private moments cemented the unusual relationship while at the same time igniting the powers within.
It's explosive. It's hot. And I couldn't put this book down. The story flowed and ebbed along as uncertainty hung in the balance as the fight for freedom begins. --Brenda

I enjoyed this, i like the style of writing and I likes the twist that this was set in a prison and I've never read a story like this before. I liked Raven because she is a really strong heroine and stands up for herself. The fact she has three gorgeous boys and they are all very different so it works! I'll be honest that I didn't dig Elliot as much as Zane and Gray but that's because my type is more 'alpha'. As a group though it really works. My only criticism is that the ending felt a little rushed, not sure if the author is planning a book two but I really want all the baddies dead, we don't find out what happens to the evil doctor either so feel like there is more to their story and would love to see them get a proper HEA, but other than that a solid paranormal romance. Would read more from this author.

Raven looses everything in and instant she escapes a goverment hit squad only to be captured later and put in a supermax for paranormal's elements shifters and vampires. The doctors are sadist the guards a sicko pervs and the only good thing for Raven she meets her 3 guys Elliot, Grey and Zane lots of chemistry and sex scenes. There is some torture blood and gore but I like how Raven deals with her tormentors. Raven has a lot of snark and dosen't know when to shut up with her comments sometimes but she's not the type of female to take crap of anyone even if it means getting into some bad situations. The only problem I had with this book was every so often it felt like there was a missing chapter it would go from sex then jump to torture test by the doctors so it bothered me but thats the only reason I gave it a 4 star review.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
*Spoiler Alert* A Dark PNR RH romance book where monsters arent the ones you think they are. In this case theyre the sadistic guards and doctors of The Devils Pit. A so called prison for dangerous Supernaturals. When Raven's (FMC and an elemental herself) parents are murdered by the same people she ends up there herself. To be at the mercy or pleasure of all who run there including Captain Sherman a violent, rapist who makes it his job to break her. The one redeeming factor being three Supernaturals - Elliot (a fire elemental), Gray (a bear shifter) and Zane (a vampire) all of which have an instant attraction to her but also want to help her too. I loved the dynamic between Raven, Elliot, Gray & Zane. The four of them together balanced out all the darkness in this book perfectly. It was a great read with characters that i really liked. I cant wait for the next book
The Devil's Pit is full of interesting plays on the different supernatural powers of magic, shifters and vampires. The prison setting has an appropriately dark and feral feel to it that makes you cringe...the right way. Main characters are much deeper than I expected and allude to expected tropes without being subsumed by them. You find yourself rooting for them and hoping the next chapter will be from a specific character's perspective based on the events in the current chapter. Side characters can mostly be boiled down to a single motivation, which works well, but can leave scenes a bit flat. Overall, the plot is intriguing and keeps you hungry for more. Sex scenes are welcome breaks in the tension. They are well crafted and pretty sultry. Highly recommended if you like the genre.

A very enjoyable story to read and review. All super natural's caught are thrown into a secret prison called The Devil’s Pit. In Devil's Pit they are experimented on. This is about Raven who is captured after her parents are killed by Villa and she's caught a year later living on the streets. She is taken to the Devil's Pit which is run by Captain Sherman. While Raven is assigned in cell A54, she meets three guys, Zane a vampire, Gray a bear shifter, and Elliot a fire elemental that she hooks up with. Together will they escape Devil's Pit? This was a engaging story and it's ending reads as part one of a series since It left it open about Villa who Raven wants revenge on. Wow. I loved this story. It had me captivated from the beginning. I was wondering the whole time how it would end and what exactly would happen. I can usually tell what will happen in a story but this story had me surprised quite a few times which added to my enjoyment of the story. Each chapter was written in a different main character's point of view which allowed the reader to understand what each character was thinking and why they acted a certain way. Also, I love reverse harem stories and this story definitely had some steamy parts to it. I can't wait to see what happens in the next story with this group!

This is a reverse harem, paranormal prison romance. Raven, the center of the harem, is orphaned and pursued by a government that prefer she and those like her didn't exist. Lucky for Raven, she's got a snarky sense of humor and just enough self-confidence to not let that get her down. Most of the time. Even luckier for her, she finds not one, not two but three soulmates in prison and things get more interesting from there on. The ending is not a cliff-hanger but there are enough loose threads to think we've not heard the last of Raven and her boys. Maybe there are more soulmates out there for Raven.

This was a great story. I really liked Raven with her smart mouth, attitude and strength. She was captured a year after her parents were killed and imprisoned with other paranormals. They put a collar around each of their necks so they can not use their powers. Raven meets three very different handsome men, Elliot, Zane and Grey. While the three become closer her powers gets stronger. She discovers what she is and how to use her powers. Will they be able to escape and if so will they survive ? Will she get revenge on Sherman, the man who almost rapes her? Will she get her revenge on Villa, the man who killed her parents? I can not wait for the next book to see what happens.

3.5 Stars To me, this book was good and I enjoyed it. The storyline and plot were what I've come to consider typical reverse harem fantasy. But, the flow and writing style were off to me, for some reason. Plus, I'm not sure if it was the fact that the author wrote in first-person or what, but it felt stilted to me. Add in, the FMC kind of annoyed me at times with her bitterness. As this is my first prison setting book, I truly appreciate the fact that it wasn't a bunch of psychos that somehow fell in love right off the bat. This is more of a 'don't judge others by what they are, only who they are' type book. And, I would fully recommend it, especially if you're into the genre.
I love reading paranormal prison stories and I really enjoyed this story immensely plus Naomi Martin is a new author to me and I can’t wait to read more. The prisoners at the Devils Pit the ones with abilities are being experimented on then eventually they are killed, when Raven is captured on the street she is taken to the prison there she meets 3 guys Elliot, Gray and Zane a bear shifter, a fire elemental and a vampire. I’m not going to get too much into this story but there is violence and blood so if you’re squeamish then don’t read this book there is also passion and sexy scenes, I enjoyed this story and I recommend this book.
—>>> Captured and collared after witnessing her parents being murdered right before her eyes and then taken to The Devi’s Pit for supernaturals, Raven was immediately drawn as soon as she set her eyes on three of the older male prisoners. There is prison guard bullying, excursions to see the two doctors who run testings on them indiscriminately, and of course, the treatment of them all no better than animals. Slowly, but surely, Raven and her boys bond together and work desperately against time to escape the hell they were all thrown into, in a creative twist which has me looking forward to reading the rest of their story.
This book exceeded all of my expectations again! A world where paranormals are hated and imprisoned, our main character takes us on an epic battle of self discovery, hot men and leads us into the battle that will start the next revolution! Beware this book was filled with plenty of passionate scenes among the MC and her men, each perfectly written for all types of loving! Truly, a book to remember and one I hope gets a sequel!

A paranormal prison romance with strong messages about racism, love, and the struggle against an unfair system.
The author didn’t shy away from uncomfortable moments in the book, letting the readers feel the struggle of the main character as she dealt with individuals who hated and dehumanized her and others like her for no other reason than that they are “different.”
The book gives a strong message on fighting back against an oppressive system and the struggle to determine how far is too far.

An amazing start to a brand new series! Raven is captured and taken to the The Devil's Pit that’s ran by Captain Sherman. The Devil's Pit is a secret prison where they experiment on supernaturals. Captain Sherman is a rapist, and wants to break Raven. While in prison Raven meets three other supernaturals, Zane, (a vampire), Elliot (a fire elemental), and Gray (a bear shifter). Together they make an amazing team and are great together. This book is so good and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I read this as an ARC and loved it. This book is great. I loved how each character was given a background, it showed what shaped them to make them who they are now. Raven is a kickass strong main character that doesn’t give up and will fight for all whom are different, being imprisoned and experimented on. Zane, Grey and Elliot are Raven’s perfect love interests, each of them bringing out a different side of a Raven. I loved the supernatural prison theme. The book is well written and entertaining and I can’t wait to read book 2.
I loved this book as showed how people can be different. The different supernaturals that don't get along, this shows that they can and that when need to be they can come together and help each other to reclaim there lives. The officers and the scientists in the story are dispicable and treat them all like dirt just cause they are different, like sexually exploiting themselves on the girls and the scientists doing painful things to the supernaturals.

This story is about several supernaturals who were put in a prison-like setting along with others like themselves. Raven was brought in & she had a straneg effect on Zane; Gray; & Elliot who were each drawn to her for some reason. Raven found out that even though the collars they had to wear to keep them using their power, somehow she was able to use her power. It turned out that with her new boys help she was able to figure out or master her power & save everyone.
So I finished the book but I skipped a lot. The whole thing was just so tedious, repetitive and boring. There's no build up, just these 3 guys fall immediately in love with our protagonist. The main guard constantly assaults our protagonist with no repercussions and it's all quite gratuitous.
The sex scenes are so unsexy it's painful, I ended up skipping them. Also, our lives are in mortal danger, let's shag first though eh?
And the amount of times 'staff' was used as a euphemism for penis was gross.
All in all, I'd avoid, little to no redeeming qualities.
Raven has been in hiding sense her family was murdered because they were keeping her powers a secret. But the Government find out and sent people the get her. Raven's mother and father had been preparing her for something like this. She was able to get away but her parents weren't so lucky. Living on the streets hasn't been easy but Raven survived. Unfortunately the government finds her and takes her to The Devil's Pit. There we meet some not so pleasant people and three guys who are drawn to Raven.
This book totally gave me X-Men vibes. Paranormal beings with all different abilities are captured by the human government from fear and for scientists, curiosity. I enjoyed this book. It was a quick fun read.
Take a strong female with three cute boys who seem fated to her and they figure out a way to break through this prison. This book contains some extra hot smut too. Lol

Raven is captured and sent to a Paranormal Prison. This story is adventure about what happens in the prison. This RH story grabs you and keeps your interest from the beginning. There is love, violence and some experiments going on in this book. She is written very well as a heroine and her 3 mates are written very well also. I enjoyed this book and Naomi did a good job with the character building. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and this is my honest review.
This is a review for The Devil's Pit. A paranormal reverse harem involving Raven - a strong young woman who'se not scared to kick butt and three very different men - a vampire, a shifter and a supernatural. Raven falls for each of these men in an environment of crime, fighting, violence, torture and sexual "events". There are triggers in this story so if any of these situations are uncomfortable close the book.
The book started off great and stayed that way til the end. I enjoyed the prison/detention center aspect of the story also. Brought something different to this RH! And I loved the ending. Curious to find out if Raven and her guys will find Villa. Wouldnt mind reading about that untied end!
