Walker and Mango Bob are on the road again. This time they're trying to escape record-breaking Florida heat. They head north in their RV, planning to spend a few days chilling at one of the cooler spots in the state. But things quickly go sideways when a famous actress shows up at their door in the middle of the night, claiming to be on the run from members of her movie star husband's religious cult. In short order, FBI agents, cult enforcers, and the woman's body double happen along to stir up the already murky waters. Add a bear-infested campground plus Walker's latest gal pal and you have your not-so-typical tropical camping adventure. Ride along as Walker and Mango Bob try to figure out who's telling the truth and why so many people want to get their hands on whatever it is the woman supposedly has taken from her husband. Another fun and wacky Florida motorhome travel adventure with Walker and Mango Bob.
It was an okay Mango Bob book. Not my favorite. I missed Bob, the women involved are really demanding and take advantage. Cool to meet Law and Justice.
This was borrowed through the Kindle Lending Library and another fun read. As always, I enjoy the RV stories and the travel in Florida. This book had a bonus of showing a couple of RV floor plans. That was a nice way to see differences between the different RV classes.
This book, again, had a couple of state parks that we haven't seen and there was just enough info to add them to the "to see" list.
And, yes, there was a interesting story about Walker's adventure with his current girl. But Mango Bob wasn't around for most of the time and he was missed!
The Mango Bob series of books give the reader both a good look at places in Florida and a nice adventure. Walker, the story teller and man who attracts assertive women with unusual problems, also describes in detail his travels. This includes actual places and campgrounds in Florida. Walker travels in a class BB plus motor home with his car, Mango Bob. In Mango Star Walker runs into trouble and adventure when a movie star asks for his help. She us being pursued by her movie star husband who us involved with a cult religion. It's a fun journey.
Walker has the FBI, a movie star husband, and a bear on his trail as he drives a cousin of a famous movie star around Florida. What started out as a trip to escape the heat with his sort-of girlfriend, ends up with a movie star's annulment and escapades in a different motorhome. He meets some interesting people along the way...of course! Another fun Florida book with Walker and of course Mango Bob. A super series that remains fresh through even this 10th book in the series. I wouldn't miss the next adventure! Great series.
I completely enjoy your stories and I, too, live full time in our motorhome! Getting ready to start Mango Road! Hope more adventurous to read about soon. I will be posting the link to the books on our websites! Wondering if you have ever eaten at "Good Times" diner in Merchants Crossing? Great food and beat people. We are getting ready to escape the hurricane season and are visiting friends near Valdosta!!! Your stories are so much fun ! Love that Mango Bob!!!
Bill H Myers puts you right into his travels with his stories. I often feel like I've been on a trip with Walker and Mango Bob while engrossed in the book. It's definitely worth starting at the first book to learn how Walker and Mango Bob got together and why they live in an RV but not a requirement. Each book stands alone. The best thing is that you can enjoy a clean story without having to decipher what is going on.
This series is always mild and gentle fun. But I was hoping after the last book, with his serious accident and recovery process, that we were finally going to have some character development with Walker. Sadly we're back to the same rescuing the bossy damsel in distress formula. However, it's still oddly entertaining for a book that is 1/3 RV manual. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.
As always , this was a fun , entertaining adventure that took me away We live in Florida , have a fifth wheel , & love the outdoors . The writing pills you through the book & is very relaxing & entertaining ! I hope Walker & Bob continue having many more adventures !!
Another fun book in this series. Walker not only is involved with one overbearing woman but this time he has to deal with three, and two of them have Bob. Not the most enjoyable read of the series Still worthy of hanging in there to see how Walker and Bob get once together again. Only four stars for this a bit bewildering story. All is well as the ending sorts everything out.
Kind of a disappointment with this installment of the mango bob adventures - while one wouldn't expect the mango bob chronicles to win awards for great literature, they generally are fun, sometimes witty journeys, but this edition felt forced, drawn out and just kind of meandering with a real finish line in sight.
It was a return to the earlier books. Lots of twists and humor. I try to buy each book as soon as I know it is out. Then I read it right away and have to wait for the next. I go back and re-read the other books.
If you like the idea of practical, no nonsense adventure, this book is for you. Like all of the Mango Bob stories, I read with hasty purpose, arrive at the end, and wish I had another to dive directly into.
Mango Bob & Walker take off on another suspense filled journey.
What kind of adventure awaits, as Walker in his good hearted nature, answers the camper door, to another damsel in distress. Join in on this fun filled, fast past thriller, with twists and turns at every junction.
I have read the first 10 Mango Bob books and really love them, especially now Walker is standing up for himself with the women in his life. Can’t wait for the next one.
Another great installment In this series. Love that the author takes you to deal places in Florida and weaves a great story in with the travel and camping. Can't wait for the next book.
I'm enjoying this series. Lots of strange characters, interesting characters, and just plain good writing. I just want more Mango Bob. I think he needs to be introduced to a harness. That's always fun, for the cat's slave owner and the cat.
I am so happy Walker has finally met a woman who is not a bossy b****. I really like Zoey and hope she shows up again in another book. Of course I did miss Bob this time around... All in all another fun adventure that'll lead to more adventures and more fun had by all.
Lighthearted entertainment. Walker & Mango Bob travel the highways & byways of Florida in a motor home, setting matters right in unconventional ways for a variety ladies & 1 lad . Could be a travel guide for the Sunshine State.
Bob and Walker are still in St. Augustine living near Erin. They decide to camp somewhere cooler. When they get to the new site they meet Nicky and the adventures begin. A good story.
always enjoy reading what kind of trouble Bob has gotten himself into, he has more than proven that cats do have nine lives, would love to visit Florida someday, may just swing by and say hello to Bob sounds like a great place to live, love all the sunshine
Again with the travelogue. Seems that a lot of books written in late 1990s were padded to the gills with travelogues. Was the IRS cracking down on authors claiming travel expenses for research? That’s all I can figure. 🤷♀️
I kept thinking there must be more, page after page after page. I really feel sorry for the main character of these books. Something must have happened to this boy in his youth to want to be demoralized by the dominant females he encounters. But maybe this is a reflection of the author's life. If you are really interested in the intricacies of how to dump poop from the tank of an RV, this is the book for you. All others take a pass.
Just not up to my expectations as founded in the first three books of this series. The plot is interesting but the details of the main characters relationships seems lacking.
