When vampires, shifters, and witches come calling, I have two choices. Run fast and far, or wade into the fray. Guess which option I go with?
This is a fast-paced three book collection in the Blood & Magic series. If you like snarky heroines, rooting for the underdog, and sexy shapeshifters, you’ll love Danielle Annett’s kick-butt urban fantasy series.
This boxset collection includes Cursed by Fire, Kissed by Fire, and Burned by Fire.
CURSED BY FIRE Blood is going to spill … It won't be mine.
Someone is feeding the flames, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. The victims are innocents, chosen to pit the shifter Pack and the vampire Coven against one another.
If war breaks out, humanity won’t survive.
But controlling fire is my thing, and I won’t let that happen. I’m a mercenary, but this is about so much more than money. It’s my city and someone is threatening it. I won’t stop until I find them.
When the good guys start to look more like villains, I have no choice but to question everything I knew, including the people I thought I could trust.
It turns out the humans might not be as helpless as they seem, and I'm in more danger than I realized.
KISSED BY FIRE Getting bit hurts like hell. Tensions are running high between shifters and vampires, and somehow becoming a Friend of the Pack has only made me more of a target.
But I can’t hide forever. I have bills to pay and a job to do. When I find myself in a fight for my life, I discover that vampires aren’t the only creatures with fangs I should be worried about, and soon find myself treading a fine line of paranormal politics—bound to one power player and the target of another.
If I don’t tread carefully, getting bit will be the least of my problems. But somehow, trouble always finds a way to bite me in the ass.
BURNED BY FIRE When shit hits the fan, I’m the one you call. I’ve taken on vampires and shapeshifters, and I’ve even kicked a chupacabra’s ass. Okay, it might have kicked mine, but in the end, I was the last one standing, and that’s what counts.
But when I find myself bound to one of the most influential paranormal power players, my days of taking on everything alone are over. Instead of baddies to kill, I have feelings to deal with. My preferred method of dealing with feelings is: Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Only he’s refusing to let me avoid him, leaving me with no choice but to bury myself in work. And I have plenty of it. The HAC is up to no good. Inarus is being hunted. And there’s a troll in the city that needs to be dealt with.
All of which provide distractions, but if I can’t figure a way out of this bond, I’m screwed. And when I find a lab full of shifter children being held and tortured, I do the obvious thing. I save them. But now, avoiding the Pack Alpha is no longer an option.
I'm just a girl with an obsession for Marvel movies, a love of all things Urban Fantasy, and a cheerleader for the underdog in any given story.
If you're looking for a heroine you can root for ... someone who defies the odds and gets up every time they're knocked down ... then look no further because that's what you'll find in my books.
I hope you'll join me in Aria Naveed's adventures. She's pretty badass if I do say so myself.
THE BLOOD AND MAGIC SERIES Cursed by Fire -- Out Now Kissed by Fire -- Out Now Burned by Fire -- Out Now Branded by Fire -- Out Now Consumed by Fire --Out Now Forged by Fire -- Out Now
Ok, but an extreme pet peeve of mine is when the heroin is born with a power but still struggles with it in her 20s. Children have earned their black belts by their teens. Math wiz' don't struggle with math. Artists create art. Like toddlers holding their bladder! Was she in a coma? Caged? Mentally deficient in some way? What hindered her natural progression of growth every creature has? She was born of fire, a pyrotechnic. Wth? It should be effortless unless during high emotion that may hinder control, like rage. If she refused to use it, its still there, uncontrolled but there. Causing problems probably until she learned to stop setting things on fire etc. She had parents! Why is she bad @ fire !?! Ugh. Senseless!
A seven-year-old little boy has been kidnapped and Aria Naveed is determined to find him before it is too late. While trying to find the little boy Aria finds that there is more behind the kidnapping of a little boy than meets the eye. The more she digs into the case she finds a whole lot of secrets that someone doesn’t want to be brought out into the opening and is trying to kill Aria to keep it hidden.
Kissed by Fire
Someone wants her dead very badly and is sending vampires that are not ready to be on their own as of yet they are too young. While Aria is fighting one of these vampires Declan the Pack’s alpha just happens to be in the area and he kills the vampire to keep him from killing Aria but she is furious with him for doing so and tells him in not a very quiet manner either I might add. She lets him have it with both feet. She didn’t want the vampire dead she was trying to subdue him so she could find out whatever she could about who and why someone is trying to kill her.
Burned by Fire
Aria is a strong person who can take care of herself yeah she has a little problem controlling her powers but she is practicing every day and getting stronger. Aria is a pyrokinetic and can create fire although she has a hard time of reining it in at times. And when she is under a lot of stress it wants to come to the surface all on its own without her calling it.
Blood and Magic Series
I loved the world that the author has created in the Blood and Magic Series with the vampires and shifters coming out of hiding and letting the whole world know that they are indeed real. I loved that Aria can kick butt with the best of them but has a heart of gold.
Love the story, strong heroine, a bit to stubborn but that's what's makes the story so good! A must read for fan of urban fantasy. So happy that it's not yet another teenager 18 something girl! Yeah for more mature character!
If you love all thing paranormal you will enjoy this series. With a snarky heroine with a fiery personality. Various hot shifter and paranormal makes you will laugh and maybe even tear up at the drama that unfolds in this series.
It felt like a Kate Daniels book by Ilona Andrews because of the many many similarities however it is a different world and the mc's have different personalities and backgrounds.
