Kyle Bennett was born with a silver spoon in his oh so sexy mouth... and he’s completely unapologetic about it. As the eldest heir to the Bennett fortune, he likes the finer things in life and he’s used to getting whatever he wants whenever he wants it.
After losing his wife he's faced with racing his son alone, a job he feels completely unqualified for. He’s a little too much like his father…i.e. bury yourself in work and let the nannies take care of the rest. Then fate steps in and forces him to a dead stop and he finally has to face some hard truths about his life choices.
Ella Palmer grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. She's had to work hard for everything she has ever gotten. Nothing has been given to her and she believes that nothing is for free... there are always strings attached...and there are definitely strings attached to the gorgeous billionaire, Kyle Bennett.
Caring for his motherless six-year-old is a piece of cake. Taking care of the sexy father and resisting temptation… not so much.
As Ella’s resistance wears down the sexual tension ramps up. Suddenly Ella can’t remember why she had such a silly rule about keeping her work and play separate..
Hello Readers! I'm thrilled to announce the release of my fourteenth novel, Love in the Outfield! This sweet, feel-good romcom follows MLB player Cade Jennings, who is traded back to his hometown and unexpectedly runs into the love he left behind, Georgia Anderson--only to discover she has an adorable toddler (shocker) who is the spitting image of himself. As they navigate the challenges of co-parenting, meddling families, and the complexities of their past, Cade and Georgia are forced to confront feelings that never truly faded. I fell in love with the leading characters and their quirky, spirited families, and I can't wait for you to meet them all.
I'd also love for you to check out my 2023 Christmas release, A Tinsel Tale. It launched a little late last season, so to me, it feels like a fresh release waiting to be enjoyed! Set in a cozy, lakeside small town, this second-chance romance is sure to put you in the holiday spirit, with just the right touch of spice. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them!
Romance, drama and intrigue. A great HEA story! A little too "tame" for my tastes but a great book never the less. Have recommended it to all my friends and family.

Kyle Bennett has everything going for him. He's handsome, wealthy, and successful both in his business and with the ladies. Then he's t-boned by a truck and comes to in the hospital. With several injuries, he is not the ideal patient. Ella Palmer is warned of him when she comes on duty. The other nurse calls him the patient from hell.
Kyle sees Ella and immediately wishes he were able to make her his. Darn injuries! He tells her he needs a home nurse and she knows him as a playboy and tells him no. Not many women have denied him anything he wanted and her "no" just makes him want her more.
She finally caves with pressure from the hospital and he thinks she is materialistic. She sets him straight. The lovebug hits both.
Cute love story as Kyle finally meets the woman for him. Thanks Goodreads for a great book.
First book I have read by this author and really enjoyed it. Loved both the main characters, but did find Ella’s money hang up a little annoying at times! And Finn was just awesome :-) Really enjoyed it & Highly recommended
Amazing characters and storyline, and some unsavory individuals. Very well written and keeps you interested throughout. I would like to know how Ella's job turned out in the end.
Enjoyed reading this book. Didn't care to much about the part about the head nurse. Could of expand on that part. Great story line. Will recommend to family.
Great story with appealing characters, and some interesting twists to the plot. The conflict for the heroine of overcoming her reverse snobbery was a good detail that lifts the story above the mundane. The hero was bigger than life with a vulnerability that made him relatable and human. I really enjoyed it.
This is a pretty standard contemporary romance. He starts out with an arrogant, entitled attitude; she starts out with a determination to be distant; a charmingly cute kid is involved; there's a hostile outside threat; their relationship grows into a deep relationship. And we have a nice, easy read with a pleasant ending. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads for this honest review.
Charming romp, makes you smile and engage with the characters in this well written book. Keeps you thinking of warm summer days even in the chilly weather. Sweet but not sickly great read!
I chose this rating because this is actually a pretty great book here early enjoy pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of determination, protection, consideration, acceptance, falling in love and getting the family that you longed for. I really enjoyed Kyle and Ella story. I think the author did a pretty great job with putting these characters together. I think Kyle son Finn had a major role in it as well. Now at first the relationship was a little rocky getting started. Pretty great! I recommend this book to all romance readers.
This is a new author for me and I enjoyed it. I liked the characters but the plot was slightly predictable, and it came to an abrupt end with the suspense / thriller element. Which could have been more integral to the story.
This book is great. Loved all the characters and totally fell in love with Kyle's son Finn! I've read every one of this author's books and love them all!
A widower and playboy all in one - I got nervous. But honestly neither of these are dwelled on to too much.
My biggest issue was that I didn’t really feel a connection the couple. I realized why, and I think it’s because the characters don’t have a lot of emotional reaction to dialogue spoken, even in their own heads!
For instance, I feel like Ella never has an internal thought about his dead wife?? It’s mentioned and we don’t see her think anything, not curiosity, jealousy, nothing I could remember.
I also feel like she doesn’t react to other women either, and to me it’s more like it’s left out rather than she’s just cool with it. For instance, a woman visits Kyle in his hospital room who calls him “her man” and Ella doesn’t feel mad or confused, which is weird since Kyle asks her out all the time. Later on, this woman Constance (maybe Candence? I forget 😂) walks into his house uninvited, kisses him on the lips which he “neither encouraged nor discouraged” and Ella rolls her eyes but nothing else!! She is literally never thought of again so what was the point of this?? (of course he’s slept with her in the past, by the way) I hate OW drama which serves no purpose.
Other than this weird unemotional aspect, Ella was ok. She has ambitions and didn’t give into Kyle right away.
But Kyle. I wasn’t a fan. Every few minutes he mentions wanting to sleep with her which makes his feelings seem totally shallow. He’s entitled, “always gets what he wants”, gets mad at dumb things (like he lashes out when she won’t move into his house after knowing him a few months/dating even less time than that?) - I don’t know. He didn’t really grow on me.
I feel like there wasn’t a lot of build up and then they’re in love.
The end was a little quick, too. The kidnapping, finding out Kyle has a half brother - it would be a huge deal and shock and he forgives his dad in *literal* minutes.
So overall, this just wasn’t for me, but it had potential!

First time reading Jill Downey’s book and I’m already hooked moving on to book two. This book Seduced by a billionaire was a fabulous read loved all but one character the head nurse. Give it a read it won’t disappoint 5⭐️
A good read just lacked a bit of detail at times strong>
This book was a good read it was just at times felt like it skimmed over some of the detail in the storyline. But don't get me wrong it was a good, easy, relaxing read with characters that I liked.
What a great combination! The billionaire was vulnerable, charming and infuriating! He feel in love with his ICU nurse. She kept her heart locked up tight! He rather impatiently wore her down until she said “yes”.
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I enjoyed reading this. It kept me interested. Nice little plot twist in there that was completely unexpected but I liked it.
