I have the box set of this series and book six continues with the plan to return to the Walled Island to finally free its oppressed people.

I think this instalment differs from the others because it deals more with planning and preparation, and focuses on characters and their personalities, if from Paige's point of view - though much does depend on what they say and do, showing who they are. It was a little drawn out but was enjoyable all the same.

A few twists and turns - what will happen next?

War is coming and finally they are taking the battle to Northbank after the tragedy that Brutus enacted. There is so much going on here, the readiness for battle, mending of relationships and learning to trust each other as a group and fighting alongside each other. Not everyone will survive and Paige lets her emotions rule her head which may just be her downfall. This is a battle of strength but also outmanouvering your opponent and anticipating their next move. I do believe it is checkmate.

Exciting

So, back to the walled island, and straight into Mantis's inspector clutches. What now for Paige and the rest of the crew? Now for book 7, I cannon wait to read it.
