Lucas “Lucky” Cartwright has spent the past eight years of his life behind bars. Now a free man, he’s ready to reunite with his family and get his life back on track. Since the death of his father, the responsibility of making sure his family was straight fell on him. Not even the concrete walls of his cell could stop that. Once known as a prominent drug dealer who had the streets on lock, Lucas is hoping to put that part of his life behind him. However, the streets aren’t quite ready to let him go just yet.It didn't help that his siblings had found their own ways to cope with Lucas being gone, and not all of those ways are good. Once Lucas learns of some of the things that have been going on in his absence, he’s not at all pleased. The last thing he was expecting to come home to was his siblings' drama or a new romance. He didn't have time for either, but his heart wouldn't allow him to turn his back on his family or the new woman in his life. His hand was now being forced and his only concern was ensuring the safety of the ones he loved, even if that means doing what he’s vowed to never do again. Lucas quickly realizes that even with his newfound freedom, he’s not so “free” after all.
