Sarah K. L. Wilson is a USA Today Bestselling author who writes fantasy stories featuring practical heroes & heroines in the most impractical circumstances. She loves writing because it is the only way to make a living and give back to the world when your primary skill is an overactive imagination and a tendency toward violent daydreams. Sarah can be found in the outdoors of Northern Ontario with her young boys and beloved husband, reading a book, or fending off her husband's pet turkeys with a straw broom. You can find Sarah's books in paperback, hardcover, ebook and audiobook and they have also been translated into Italian, German, and (very soon) Turkish. Please, do, enjoy the read!
Seleska, Heron, Nasataa, and their friends are on the run once again in a page turning adventure to find three keys for the dragons before Atura and the manticores find them. They are given numerous disadvantages and it will take more than a little luck for them to succeed. Many people sacrifice their lives for Sela and her young (but no longer little) dragon. But when Heron is captured, Seleska has to decide what she is willing to risk and what their quest is truly worth.
The ending was surprising. There was an unexpected twist while still providing the happily ever after that we hoped for. The theme of forgiveness was tied throughout these episodes as well. What evil is too great to forgive? Seleska always seemed young and naive, and as much as I hoped she'd grow up by the end of the series, and there were a few hints that she changed a little, she still has a lot to learn. I would have liked her better if she had learned to be a little more adult about things. Still, it was a fun adventure with trials that were reminiscent of Hunger Games and HP Goblet of Fire. The narrator does a great job making you feel like you're in a teenage girl's head.
I received a free copy of the audiobook from the author and have reviewed it willingly.
Books 6-10: The characters are wonderful and they are well developed. The plot flows fluently. Seleska goes from one adventure to the next with Atura either in the lead or hot on her trail. Seleska has Heron by her side and Nasataa (the baby blue dragon that she rescued). She and Olfijum have to team up to save Heron and Nasataa and the two learn to get along. Seleska starts out rather selfish overall and seems to only think about what she and Nasataa need. By the end of the series, she has grown and learns many new things like love and forgiveness. She is rather whiny at the beginning but becomes more confident. The book has action on almost every page. I'd recommend this book to those looking for a fantasy about dragons. It has some exceptional twists.
The narrator does a great job with voices. She is interesting to listen to. I enjoyed her style and would listen to a book by her again.
Loved the fact that this series, from start to finish, was filled with adventure, the struggle of good to triumph over evil, and innocent romance that leaves out the unnecessary sexual aspects of physical romance. It’s nice to find books/series that are appropriate for young audiences, yet have content for maturing minds. This series is imaginative and well written, and has many positive life truths woven throughout. I highly recommend this entire series to fantasy lovers and especially to parents who want to entice their pre-teens and teenage children to enter into a world of reading for pleasure!
It took me about 1/3 way in the book before. I realized that this was just a continuation of her other stories. I did not read this correctly in order or right after the the elevated couple other books in between, and then I found this one in the library and actually read it. And about 1/3 of the way through I will quarter the way through and when I realized that, Hey, she's bringing in the same character from the other 2 books, so she had like I don't know 3 separate stories. Each story consisting of about 3 books or 4 books and yeah, it made a good trilogy, and yet magic was reborn. You'll enjoy it.
The ultimate showdown between the givers and the takers draws as their champions a determined yet vulnerable young woman vying against a strictly raised, implacable and inflexible warrior woman.
The entire fate of dragonkind teeters in the balance.
Congratulations to Sarah Wilson for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next series.
The mystery of magic is woven thru the lines of words creating a magical world. The magic allowed the words to create scene after scene in my mind. Bringing the words to life.
It was more than a little reminiscent of the war of the Dominion and the Dragon Riders. Same elements of magic, mayhem and overall despair. Yet Seleska carries on her duties as the Guardian of the little blue dragon who will protect the world.
This conclusion of the third story was well done and provided some closure to events of the 3 series. I hope the author will some day return to this world. Great job
The tribe known as rock eaters have been using stolen memories and life forces for decades and now the end of this reign or the end of all other ways of life is coming close. The heroes of each side of this conflict are facing off to get to the prize. Good Read.
I have read all omnibuses so far, from the first Dragon School omnibus through this one, and the stories fit together and create a very exciting and interesting continuing series of people and events. Start reading now! You'll enjoy all of them!
Amazing series!! Makes me long for more. The whole Dragon School universe is one of my all time favorites! Absolutely recommend it to any fantasy fans.
This is a winner of a series! There are good guys who aren’t always good or brave. There are bad guys who really aren’t so bad. Most of all there is a great and wondrous tale.
Brilliant! I love the way it tied in with the Dragon School stories and tied everything together so that there is a full ending. I thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed and cried.
2.5 rounded up. The ending was kind of rushed after what felt like a long slog. BUT, with the return of Hubric (RIP dear Kyrowat) and other loved ones, no way was I going to give this less than 3.
