This is a great first novel from a promising author. I love shifter stories, and Kayleigh captures the essence of the shifter story, and the romance was sweet and tender while we had more danger and intrigue in the secondary plot around the rogues and an old foe.
I really loved all of the characters- secondary and main. Kayleigh does a great job of balancing danger with the sweet, and sometimes funny- and our leading man is deliciously growly and broody, but also SOO swoony. Total dream boat- Kayleigh King can write a man!
This story has great bones overall- all the makings of a kick ass story, but with a few things that were less my reading style. The pacing was a bit slow for me, both in waiting to get to both the romance and the action. That is normal for the beginning of a series, especially one such as this that requires more world building. While I liked the focus on the ensemble- that really created the pack and family dynamic, it did mean it took our couple a bit longer than I wanted to kick off (or even really meet). And, overall, I just wanted a bit more romantic time between the two of them- more one-on-one scenes to build their chemistry. This book was also not as sexy (the sex scenes were not explicit, more fade to black) than I'm used to in a shifter story (and I personally prefer a bit more steam in general, though still liked what we got here).
Overall a great start to a series and an enjoyable read. I'm excited for some other characters to get their stories- though it looks like the one I'm really interested in will have to wait until the finale!
PS: I saw a few other reviews that pointed to a plot hole, one that I felt was actually explained (not everyone goes rogue at the same age)- so this was not something I noticed.
Gave up on this book because it's nothing special or new just the same old shitty tropes. Like, of course the guy has had sex with a close female friend who is gorgeous. Of course the heroine is a virgin because no one has ever "felt right". Of course the heroine is insecure about her looks compared to the beautiful chick her guy slept with in the past. Of course said chick is a bitch to the heroine because all women are catty over men, and of course there's the confident over bearing BFF who needs to learn boundaries. I could go on but I'm sick of the same old same old BS, these people are in their twenties, not teenagers.
Ok so disclaimer but this kiddo lives in my neighborhood. This is usually not the kind of book I would pick up but, because she is a neighbor I figured I would read it. Now I can hardly wait until her next book comes out! This is amazing. It is a book about a young teen who has no idea about her family background, just that she has a really cool friend and that friend has a huge family that has taken her in as though she is one of them. Her aunt travels a bit so she spends a huge amount of time with her friend and the family. Then a rogue brother comes home...and pay close attention to the word rogue....that is where the story takes some interesting twists but they are terrific and they keep you reading. I truly think that this is a YA book that a young lady and a young man would enjoy. Like I said, I can hardly wait until the next one is done - I highly suggest checking this book out!
It's been a hot minute since I read a book in one sitting, and it's been a hot hour since I've read a shifter romance. It's also been a hot month since I found a reading groove. I have to say that this one kept me captivated from beginning to end. I absolutely loved the premise, the way the plot developed and how the characters came to life.
This book made me nostalgic. It made me think back to my teenage years when I read City of Bones, and Twilight, and all those Paranormal YA books that started it all for me. It brought me back to THAT place where I escaped into another world with different realities, and that is something special.
This is the first book I read by this author and I am in awe that this is her debut novel. She has definitely found herself a fan for the long haul. I'm already partway through Soul Bound and the story continues to give me butterflies and believe in magic again. The magic of a great book.
Ryker Weylyn is the perfect hero, the sensitive, bad boy, and just the right man to play opposite the mysterious and seemingly naive, Pruitt Bailey. This author didn't stop there, either. She also gives us a great cast of supporting characters, as well, and a storyline that will leave you panting for more.
And it isn't just werewolves you'll need to watch out for in this series. Add to the paranormal a good dose of romance and a heap of action, and what you get is a book you'll want to read again and again.
QUICK OVERVIEW: I liked it. Was a bit slow in places... maybe because it's a debut novel... I would read the next one.
Story/plot: Fairly predicable if you read this sort of thing. But not in a bad way. Pace: Started a bit slow, once it got going it was fine. POV: 1st person, duet/both MCs
✅ FMC: She's sassy and strong. ✅ MMC: He's a little emo and agro but I liked him. ✅ Side characters: Lots of them and liked them.
Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️ (2/5) Probably more like 1.5 How much spice: 🔥🔥 (2/5) Probably more like 1.5
🎧Audiobook Narrator(s): ✅ Amy Hall - love her from the Hot Vampire Next Door series... she did great here too. ✅ Jamie Renell
The White Wolf Prophecy Series 1. WOLF BOUND — ★ 3/5 2. SOUL BOUND — ★ 4/5 3. SHADOW BOUND — ★ 4.5/5 4. FIRE BOUND (final in the series) — ★ 3/5
The first 4 to 5 chapters had me hooked. Specially Rykers broodyness. But then it became sappy and I didn't feel the chemistry between them. Oh, and the "steamy scene" were not steamy at all whatsoever. Maybe I'll continue with the series who knows 🤷♀️
I feel really bad that I'm rating this book so low. I wanted to like this book, but I really hate scences where someone kisses another person in front of their love interest to prove a point.

I decided to pick this up because I was given an early copy of the third book in this series. I started that one, but I quickly realized I needed to read the first two and boy am I glad I did. This was really good. I really enjoyed it. I am excited to jump right into book two.
I loved the twists and turns in here. I have to say that I knew that Avery was shady as eff. I hated her from the jump. I didn’t think she was as bad as she was, so that was a surprised.
I loved the dynamic between Pru and Remi. I thought they were so cute and reminded me of me and my best friend. Love you Beef! I am also glad that Ryker didn’t try and force Pru into something she wasn’t ready for.
I feel like in a lot of shifter, fated mates stories I read the alpha male kind of forces the mating. Don’t get me wrong, I love those and they tend to be super short. But it was refreshing for this trope to be more on the female’s pace and not so much on the male’s pace.
I believe book two is Ranger’s story and I like the twins. I may be biased though because my husband is a twin.
solid shifter romance! the big plot twist at the end was totally predictable, but i can't say i'm mad about it. honestly i think i loved this so much bc it just made me nostalgic and brought back the vibes i loved from my preteen/early teenage years reading and watching the paranormal romance genre.
i normally hate an amnesia trope but i thought the author used it in a creative and meaningful way and i enjoyed how the relationship developed due to the memory loss.
the found family in here was perfection, and there are great side characters with lots of potential to have their own captivating stories as the series continues. i was also very entertained and invested by the whole rogue wolf/shifter breeding plot so i think if it's expanded on correctly it could make for a really solid overarching plot.
Soooo good! So why not 5 stars? Because the fact that he had sex with Avery ruined it for me. I get the author wanted the angst but it ruins the whole true mate thing when one is having sex with someone else. Yes he thought she was dead-doesn’t make it better. And then to kiss Avery in front of his mate to prove a point?? He coulda kissed anyone else and I wouldn’t have been mad about him proving his point. But he kissed the girl he cheated with? Nah not cool. Even if the author had made him kiss Avery or make out but to have sex with her? And the h is like “oh? You had sex with someone else?! No biggie! Love me!! “ No thanks. Without that woulda been 5 stars!
FANTASTIC READ!! Wolf Bound is attention grabbing cover to cover. This book has it all...from romance to suspense to fantasy and beyond. I was constantly enthralled with the characters and their stories. There’s never a dull moment in the authors storytelling, which makes it hard to put down when you know there will be an exciting twist or turn just around the corner. I can not wait for the next book to be released. And the book after that, and the one after that! Kayleigh King has a brilliant future in the world of writing ahead of her. Well done!!
Accidentally picked this book up. It hooked me in from the very beginning. I really enjoyed the anticipation as I do with all the books I read. Definitely pick this up. You won't be disappointed.
My love for her is all-consuming, and the thing that keeps my heart beating.
I was instantly consumed myself when reading Wolf Bound. It brought back so much nostalgia from when I used to read shifter/werewolf stories when I was younger. This is my first Kayleigh King read, and it will not be its last. This series has now wormed its way into my heart.
I loved the pace of this book, so much. With it being a fated mates story, it’s pretty obvious that the two main characters will fall pretty quickly. We saw Pru and Ryker develop their relationship in a nice, realistic but quick, easy way. Ryker already knew Pru from his past, and knew she was his mate, so he already had those feelings for her right off the bat. With Pru, her past got taken away from her, and meeting Ryker for what feels like the first time for her, she instantly felt and knew there was a connection. With that, the fall for eachother came so nicely, especially after Pru found out who and what she really is, and that made everything make sense.
Pru is such a strong female character. I loved how she never cracked under the pressure of everything, especially when so much new information was thrown at her basically all at once. She accepted everything, although feeling a little skeptic with certain aspects, but always stayed on her feet. She had such a great support system, so it was really nice seeing how everyone else connected to her and made her feel welcomed.
Ryker is that broody tattooed guy, so he obviously has the appeal right there. But the thing with Ryker, he feels with his whole being. He couldn’t accept his past and what happened, thinking he lost his mate, so he set out a new path for himself and stayed dedicated to enact revenge for her. Once he was finally reunited with his mate and his family, he’s even more loyal and he’s selfless. He’s the perfect guy.
Ryker and Pru were so cute together. They had this cute wit/banter between one another that just kept you smiling. I enjoyed how this wasn’t just a full on light read, there were certain parts of the book that started to take a turn, and you didn’t know what was going to happen. There’s love and loss in this book, and that helps make it feel even more real, because of how these characters had to handle these situations. I loved reading and learning about the lore in this book, and being introduced to all certain types of supernatural creatures. While not all are shown, you do find out the types. I literally adored every side character. The friendship they all had together, and the love, showed that you need friends and family, the ones that care about you, by your side, cause you're not alone and you're not feeling anything alone. The only thing that knocked off half a star was the fact that I wish we saw Ryker be a little bit more moody and angsty towards people and not meet Pru again so quickly, but other than that, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves PNR books!
Going to be honest this story captured my attention from the little blurb I read at first. I was still a little unsure about what kind of storyline it was actually going to consist of. But lets just this story is epic! This was the first book I read by kayleigh king and she did not disappoint. The two main characters were written spectacularly. I loved that we got to see the backstory of their lives throughout the entire book and how she related them to the feelings, thoughts or dreams each were experiencing. Pruitt appeared to be shy at first but throughout the book she came alive and you see her fire, love, leadership and personally my favorite her jealousy and witty comebacks. Ryker oh boy he is a sex on a stick times a million. I love the way he is described and then I love his attitude, jealousy, protectiveness and most importantly is heart! Awesome character developments. I definitely did not want to stop reading, so I stayed way past my bedtime and had to finish the book!! Now I'm excited for the second book and the story! I can already tell the two main love interests are going to make for an exciting book!
I am very into paranormal mythology and lore as well as romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's perspective on the wolf shifter (werewolf) lore nad the additional lore of mates that was added *not mates in general, just something on top of it).
I feel like people who rated this novel poorly didn't actually take the time to read or understand the character development and background.
Pruitt is struggling to handle everything that is being thrown at her and pull herself together while Ryker is doing the same. Ryker is able to handle it better because he was born and stayed within the wold shifter community while Pru wasn't. Not only that, but there is drama, turmoil and obstacles that each must face together and apart. People who said it was unrealstic must not be familiar with werewolf lore and the definition of mates.
I will say this, there is a topic of rape within the book but it is not handled poorly or in an insensitive manner. '
OK now that I have all my emotions in check I can actually write this. This book seriously had me crying from anger from excitement, from sadness I literally felt every single emotion that you can feel all at once trying to read this book. I’ve been obsessed with werewolves and vampires and all the like since of course twilight like most people, but this book checked off all of my supernatural desires. There is sexual tension and release. Ryker is delicious, I seriously love everything about his character and the way that he seems like such a bad ass but then when it comes to Pruitt he is basically A teddy bear that already knows her wishes and dreams and exactly how to make those come true. I love that Pruitt it is such a strong female character that she can hold her own, she’s no little bitch, like you see in many female characters. She’s strong and resilient and absolutely beautiful at the same time. Honestly cannot wait to read the next book in the series!!
Ohhh I like this book!!! It was really enjoyable!! I really loved the whole concept of the white wolf prophecy and I love the writing style and the story! I loved all the characters like the brothers Riker and Pru I love Remi she’s such a cool person! . What I liked about this book was no matter how many times I leave the book and then go back to it again I would still remember the scenes and all and that rarely happens. As for the characters I love them!!! Ranger and Ransom can I befriend them?? They’re hilarious!! And Jaaax!! I have a feeling something is going to happen between him and Remi 🤷🏻♀️🙈 I hope so!! As for the main characters Ryker and Pru.. I loved them!!! Okkk I won’t lie but sometimes I wanted to smack Pru she’s soo ughhh but I like her 😂😂 and for Ryker he’s 😍😍😍😂😂 that all I can say 😂😂 . All in all I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read book 2!!!
Born to wolf shifter parents who died tragically in a car crash. Grey Thorne was hidden for her own safety. Her shifter abilities were bound by a powerful witch and she was raised human. Her memory was erased. After fourteen years she returned to her home in Montana. Her mate who did not forget her has been on a quest to kill rogue wolves like the ones he believes killed his mate and her parents. He believes he will become a rogue because he has no mate. He will need to die. This was a different concept of the alpha male wolf than I had read in the past. I enjoyed the strong female characters.
I absolutely adored this story. Pruitt and Ryker have the sweetest love story and it's everything you would want in a paranormal romance. There are so many twists and discoveries made in the book that I can't divulge too much without spoiling a plot point. My only issue with the entire book, is the fight with Nickolas. It was so underwhelming and didn't live up to the build up.
I was so mad when I found out she was the white wolf I was pissed how unoriginal I saw it coming from like 3 miles away. The second the mom mentioned the myth I am still a little confused about how she is related to the original white wolf. Another thing I saw coming was Avery who was on the other side. How did now one see this coming. Other than guessing the plot twisted I really enjoyed this book.

Pruitt has forgotten her roots and Ryker believes his mate to be dead and can’t fathom the idea of being with anyone else. What happens when she turns up alive!? I am in love with This couple. Super Hot werewolf who’s also sweet and gooey for his woman. I loved the action in the book and seeing the couple come together despite everything they are dragged through ❤️
This book gripped me from the start. When a book manages to grab my attention right from the opening sentence, then I know that I’m definitely going to enjoy it. Which was the case with this one. Even though the blurb was pretty telling of the storyline, I was surprised by the unique plot and the emotion behind the words. For me, I think it got to the 50-60% line that it all became a bit predictable for me. Which in then left me a little bored because I knew everything that was going to happen but followed through simply because of the story.
My first book by this author and definitely won’t be my last. I’m intrigued by this series and can’t wait to read the next book.
Different from the shifter books I've read recently. I really like how the story started, I just feel that towards the end there was unfinished business. The next book in the series is Rangers book and I'm pretty excited about that, so maybe more will be explained as the series moves along.
Anyways, does anyone else think that Jax and Remi are going to be a thing? 😝
I can not believe it has taken me so long to find and read this series! Kayleigh has such a great talent for detail and she knows how to stick to a plot. None of it felt forced either! She lets her characters guide her story and I’m all for that! I have read some reviews complaining that there just isn’t enough sex scenes but honestly I feel like if she would have put in more than what she did it would have ruined it for me. It was actually refreshing to me so I thank Kayleigh for that!! When you read as much as I do the change of pace is welcoming! I’m excited to start the second book and have a feeling that it’s going to be just as good as this one!
Couldn’t put it down! Always a sucker for paranormal page turning, love story! Definitely got pulled into the “what’s going to happen next” feels. Loved the characters & the wittiness of this story. Perfect little carrot dangled at the end about the next Weylyn brother’s story coming this fall.
