Stageline series

This was a good read that may have been a little bit too long. I don't like to put a book down but this one was the exception.action and adventure abound without any let up,i never had so much happening without losing interest by sheer amount of information overload.

STAGELINE

Another fantastic read by Tony Masero!! Every story he writes is so authentic, you feel as though you are there. You can see the landscape, here the thunder of guns and horses and smell the fresh air, pine and dirt. Thoroughly enjoyed every story!!

A little too racy

This book was better than another book by this same author. I wish western authors could written cleaner stories. These stories are unbelievable. The old west was not like that.

I enjoyed this series, the author kept them in chronological order and made you look forward to reading the next one. This is the second series by Tony Masero I have read, good western action in both of them.

Not bad at all. Reminds me of the old Bantam and Fawcett Gol Medal westerns that I read as a boy back in the late 60's and early 70's. I plan to read more of him

I started reading this novel and thought what a great western series it is, well written and researched by the author. A modicum of sex and thank goodness no mention of god or religion as I have come across in a few westerns. And then I realised that the author was English and a refreshing breath of air to the genre. Really enjoyed so much that I bought another of his series.

In the West men trust their true friends, Whip and Cosum are friends for life!

This collection features stories about the adventures of both men. The five stories include The Whip, Riding Guard, Bold Deceiver, Arrowpoint, Dead on Time. It starts out telling how Whip Rondel, driver of the Hostrum and Hayes stagecoach, came to the position and then goes on to tell out Cosum Beech joined on to ride with Whip. Whip has been with Hostrum for 5 years, and Cosum for the last two. Whip being the older of the two and beginning to show a little of his age. Whip being a young slim man with a flair with the ladies. Both men have histories they deal with. Complication is the middle name for both men, plus they take their jobs seriously and are careful to deliver their precious cargo safely, be it package or person.

What did I like? First, I would say that the best thing about this collection of stories is the humor that runs throughout all of them. Men of that time had hard lives but even the worse situation could be lived with if you add a touch of humor. These two men work hard and live the same way. Each faced tough times in their lives and lived to tell about it. When you stop and think about it, I don’t think any of us would want that kind of life, but if it could be faced with the grace of these two men it could be handled. Their friendship is what makes the book so good.

What will you like? Exhilarating adventure, unique characters, mind-blowing excitement, great dialog and blow your socks off storylines. The characters are what make this book, I mean the storylines are over the top but the friendship and dialog between them carry the book. The other characters good or bad are awesome and they also are very unique. The descriptions are so clear that you will hear the crack of the whip and feel the air caressed by the rifle shots, smell the arid desert and smoke from the cook fire. You will be able to taste the coffee and enjoy the enticing foods. Enjoy the scenery from the different locations, and feel the tenderness under your rear as you ride either the horses or the top of the line, Concord stagecoach. Look out for the stage robbers or the Indian attacks as the men fight them off and deliver their precious cargo on to the next driver's route. Did I get you there? Well, Tony will bring all your senses and tastebuds alive with every story. Excellent read and another awesome book to add to your Western Library.

This is a series of stores about a stage driver(Whip) and a guard(Colsum). These stories are not near as good as prior books by this author. I just could not get into the stories as they did not appeal to me.
