The thirteenth book in the tremendously popular “ United States Marshal” series has arrived. This is the Western series that drives readers to keep reading—because Marshal Timber is always one shot away from being killed. “Sorrow & Rage” will prove to be an exciting ride—are you ready to face death with Marshal Timber?
Having recovered from his wounds suffered at the hands of a mad man hell bent on revenge, Jake Timber, U.S. Marshal retired, is looking forward to settling down with his benefactor, Ms. Laura, owner of the “Open Range Saloon.”
But before she can commit, there is something she must take care of. Something she doesn’t want Timber involved in. Timber prevails in gaining her trust and convinces her he can help. Their plans get interrupted when the local bank is robbed and Timber needs to help hunt down the gang.
While Timber is out chasing the bank robbers, Laura decides to deal with her personal business without Timber. She goes back to the town where she had lived before, to finalize her divorce from her ex-husband, a saloon keeper and cut-throat businessman.
When Timber returns from stopping the bank robbers, he is angry when he discovers Laura has already left to try to solve the issue of her ex-husband on her own. Fearing for her life, Timber goes after her in a race against time.

This was a good read. I’m sorry Laura/Lilly was killed. I was hopping her and Timber would travel while he continued to do what he does with her by his side.
I can’t read fast enough these last few books. They keep you on the edge until the very end.!
I guess US Marshall Timber isn’t too old to fight back. I prepped myself when the word sorrow was in the title of this book. I knew the lady wasn’t going to make it but it’s very sad. I know it’s more realistic, but I wish Mr.Hanlon’s books didn’t have so many people die. I feel bad that the former soldiers that were bodyguards for Laura were killed and she had many. They were very good, faithful men. It’s very sad. Timber has turned into the Terminator and he is very lucky.
