USA Today bestselling author, Jamie Lee Scott, loves killing people, ehem, writing a good mystery. When she’s not writing novels, she’s writing screenplays and making indie films. Her first produced screenplay can be seen on DirecTV’s ShortsHD channel. No One Knows is an “Editor’s Choice” on the channel for short films. Jamie lives on a farm with her husband, two dogs, two cats, and three horses. Aside from writing, Jamie is a competitive barrel racer.
Dirty Bite is the fourth book in this series. All of the books are great. Each book continues the plot line. Kate Darby is the main character and grows with each book. In Dirty Bite Kate has come back from a trauma and is the new K-9 handler for the Peculiar police department. She continues to live in the plantation house she inherited. She and Zane continue to work together on another homicide. I love these books. The characters present as real people. There is humor and mystery along with the murder investigations. Each one ends with an excellent set up for the next book. Can't wait for the next one.
This book kept me wanting to read more for most of it. I have enjoyed this series. I felt like the beginning skipped some stuff until I got into it and realized it wasn't needed. I had a prediction at one point, but the storyline kept me second guessing my theory. It was very intriguing.
Another excellent story from Kate Darby. Lots of action and surprises in this one.
Jamie Lee Scott did a great job keeping me guessing on this one. I didn't figure out the who until the last two chapters.
The story has well defined characters, a solid plotline, and plenty of red herrings. There is also a bit of profanity in this one. In which most of it is not gratuitous.
