Combat Loss: A Viet Nam War Novel

Rate this book
The day after PFC Albert Patty arrived in the mechanized infantry platoon, he became separated in the woods and was inadvertently left behind. His absence wasn’t noticed until that evening, when it was too late to go back for him. Before Patty could be rescued, he was captured by soldiers of the North Vietnamese Army and dragged away, heading for a prison camp in Cambodia. Lieutenant Carr was anxious to retrieve his missing man, but his efforts were hindered by senior officers worried about revealing a blunder that could threaten their careers. It became a race against time, with a platoon of American soldiers chasing a platoon of NVA, the GIs determined to catch the enemy before they reached sanctuary in a neutral country, and the NVA willing to fight to the death to keep their prisoner. The non-stop action of this story will grab your attention and not let it go until the final page.

Know your Enemy, KNOW YOUR Team

Few knew Viet Cong or NVA. It is crucial to understand the character and spirituality of those who are trying to kill you. Read the ISLAM Chapter of Living to DIE by Carl Nurick....Amazon Kindle.

A new hero emerges

Patty just arrived in the unit and goes through more action than some see in a tour. It is one of the better reads of the series by David Allin.

In this novel David Allin really puts us in the midst of the action. I only have two more to read.

Great read.

I have been reading Vietnam ear books since the late 1970's. Somehow missed this one. I enjoyed this book a great deal.
