Shadow's Fall by T.M. Hart is book 4 and is the final in the series and my god what a rollercoaster ride of a read this series was.
You have lies which were twisted beyond, you have truths which you don't see coming, you have plenty Oh My God moments, then there's the Darkness!!! And to finish it the love story which your hoping for ends as it should.
It's definitely a fun, fast and exciting series, it's a little bit more than I was expecting which makes it even more enjoyable and I really recommend this series if you want something a little different I didn't realize the paranormal genre was this fabulous 📓

Amazing Ending

This has been one awesome series, truly, it stole my breath. I loved it and really really enjoyed how very different this was. I'll be looking forward to what I see the author is continuing on to write in this world. The writing, the characters and the world was exceptional!!

This review is for the series as a whole. I felt torn with this series. It seems like it might be the author's first and I think she shows a lot of promise. The series definitely kept me engaged but I also felt it could have been better.

Pros:
- New supernatural concept
- Engaging plot
- Loved The Dark Manor
- Liked the idea of finding a balance of both one's dark & light
- Realm of Lost Souls was a cool concept with cool imagery
- Suspenseful
- Would read a spin off series

Cons:
- The characters could have used more depth.
- Elijah was really unlikable. He treated Violet like shit and when the heroine had to follow up his
inappropriate statements with "buuuuuut he would never force me to do something I wouldn't want
to do" you know you have a problem. The readers shouldn't need clarity on that for a character that
was supposed to be a love interest. Elijah, apparently, hasn't heard of #metoo. Why do author's
think, in this day & age, that force, disrespect, condescension & caveman like behavior is sexy?
- I was good with the idea of the Vinculum but I feel it was misused. It relied so heavily on a sexual
need/desire that bordered on nymphomania that it cheapened the characters' connections and relied
way less on emotional connection (and I love some sexy time just like everyone but the desperation
that it brought out in the characters was a bit cringey)
- I love a wounded hero & had high hopes for Zagan but he didn't quite live up to them. I wanted to
see more growth, know more about what he endured, and see more of a character arc. I would have
liked for him to show more ambition in terms of his own life & healing. In those ways he was too
passive.
- While there were some cute/sweet/funny moments between Violet & Zagan, his character was
relegated to sulking & saying "No!" & "Leave!" emphatically. Initially, this made sense but carried
on too long. Time would have been better spent developing a deeper emotional connection, talking
about what happened to him as a child, bonding, healing.
- Use of similar names like Marax & Maxim. Why? Just makes it confusing.
- Could have used more vivid world building.
- Strange mix of modern & old world settings & language. Violet calling people "bozo" or 'big guy"
seemed a bit corny in contrast to other ways of expressing herself which seemed more modern.
-Needs a good editor. Lots of grammatical/spelling errors.
- Where's Killian? Spin off?

PERFECT ENDING

This series has my HEART! It came across me by chance and I am so grateful I got to experience these character's world and challenges and love. I just binge read these back to back in 3 days it was so good. I loved how the characters had flaws and the characters weren't boring, I loved about every single one of them. It's been a while since I've read a good series and cried so hard over it. After the big battle broke my heart and then after that I was right there with Violet thinking that all this was too good to be true. It was such a beautiful ending filled with love and hope and strength, Madame Hart I applaud you👏🏼👏🏼

Honestly, this entire series was confusing. I think the storyline had a lot of potential but the author left a lot of loose ends and made connections that seemed out of left field. What happened to Violet’s best friend? Violet’s mom just said he went missing and that was that. All of a sudden Maxim was Zagan’s brother though there were MINIMAL if any hints of it before...
Even though I did thoroughly enjoy Zagan and Violet’s characters and relationship, I don’t think I’ll be picking up this series again.

Just finished the entire series. I seldom write reviews because I barely ever read any; however, this series had me glued. It is EXCELLENT! It reminded me of the ACOTAR and the Pure and Dark Ones series. No, not because of any similarities, other than one must continue reading all the books to get answers to questions and what you think is happening, is not! I definitely will read more books from this author.

I don’t normally do reviews unless I loved the book but this series really bugged me and I waited until the end to do the review because I kept hoping I’d get to the next book and it would all click into place. It didn’t...there were so many random characters that really didn’t need to be in the story, then the ones who needed to have depth really didn’t. Honestly I’m completely baffled, half way through book 2 I had to double check I didn’t read the books in the wrong order...I was so lost! I hated how the MC was treated by all the men, she seemed strong but then every time something came up she completely waffled. I’m very disappointed In this series, I do think it could have been much better.

Absolute Must Read!

I have loved this series since book one. I was so sad to have it end, but loved every minute of it. Hart has written a beautiful story that has you hanging on the edge of your seat repeatedly! The love story is sweet and dark. I would absolutely recommend this book to any one who loves NA fantasy.

I cannot possibly go into a detailed review without spoilers.
SO
There are lies, twists, more lies, some turns.
Things come together. You get answers. You are left with some questions (for a reason).
You get the ending you hope for. You fall more for characters you probably didn't want to fall for.
You get all the emotions.
JUST READ THIS SERIES!!!! you'll love it or hate it, but just read it!

I cannot wait for more books from this series on the other characters. I might become a stalker and be checking daily for some updates :)

I have a hangover... and I want more. I finished this series over a couple days, I could not stop.
I loved how the series started in the middle. It was different, not predictable.
I like that I didn't always like the characters. We loved Elijah, then we hated him, then we felt bad for him.
If this is the author's first series, I cannot wait for more. I would love to see Elijah's next adventure and more of those crazy Femme's.

I loved this entire series. From the moment it started, it drew me in. Hart is a master with her words and details, twists and turns! Violet and Zagan had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can honestly say that it's one of those stories that you can't put down because it begs you to see what comes next. There were many nights I had to force myself to put it down just to get some sleep. Do yourself a favor and read the Shadow series. You won't be disappointed!

DNF @ 13%.

This series started out AMAZING. But each subsequent book kept going a little more downhill. Last book and I couldn't do it anymore. It was just too redundant and boring. Same old sitting in a manor with a dark and brooding soulmate. Boring.

I probably shouldn’t have persisted with this series but it held promise. I liked the world, and the idea of Light and Dark, there was plenty of spice and Zagan drew me in … but I was honestly confused for half of it. The characters lacked depth and it was difficult to like anyone, the ‘darkness’ of everything was overdone and melodramatic, Violet was irritating, Zagan didn’t really change much, logic didn’t come into play much, and the juxtaposition of old school angels and their manner and the club scenes were strange 🤷‍♀️

Good series that kept me captivated for all 4 books. While it was slow in some spots I stuck around for the twists and turns.

Overall a shallow series but I don't need every series to be heart wrenching and thought provoking.

Would recommend but would not reread.

Reread.

Could you explain this series in one word? Devastation. Voliet and Zagan's story chips away at me each time I read it, bringing my worst fears to life. I can't help but sob and in the end I am left raw, wounded and bleeding.

This book destroyed me. Though somehow the person I needed most lead me out of my emotional solitude. I think it was because it hit home for me. To love someone so completely and fierce that it scares you. I empathize with Voilet wanting to stay, to stay and watch the world burn around them. I'm scared I would do the same. Sacrifice the world for only one.

"Because although he rested, although his breathing was even and slow, his arms were incredibly tense. They were locked, caging my body against his. And I knew, even in sleep, he was not about to let me go."

The Authors words broke pieces of me. I wailed and sought comfort. They tore at my darkest fears with their talons. I forced myself to read on at times. It was asking to much of me though. I cried and clung to the one person I could never lose. I became scared of things that may never happen but I loved the book all the same. And the music, it lulled and swelled carring me away on the breeze. I became lost in it. I shall cling to him all the more now.

“And f#%k me! Who is that?!” she asked, eyeing Maxim. “My god, I think my panties are going to explode.”

My voice began to diminish as the void around us devoured it. And I made a promise. A vow. One I knew I would keep. “If you let me go, Zagan Black, if you don’t come back for me . . . I will haunt you for eternity.” The truest words I had ever spoken. His lips pressed against my forehead, and his hand brushed my cheek. “Ah, Violet, love . . . you already are.”

“I warned you. Time and time again, I warned you. Why did you never listen?! I tried to save you from myself!”

"Everyone breaks.
Everyone.
It is a universal truth. An absolute with no exceptions.
The only difference between us is how we break.
And what it turns us into."

Ooooookay, I loved this book! This was a great example of exactly how a series should end! All of the questions were answered, everything was revealed and it 👏 was 👏 awesome 👏

I won't go into details about characters and what I thought, because I can't without revealing the end of the story. Some times books can be pretty predictable, and while at time I felt like this book was, I was still thrown by some of the revelations.

Shadow's Fall was heartbreaking, in so many ways. The author did a really great job in the telling of this story. It was beautiful the way that everything came together, and there was such a beautiful flow to it all.
Zagan will always be one of those characters that I hold close to my heart, I will say, I wish we did get to see his history with the Contessa to find out what exactly happened to him all those years. It would have filled in the gaps with him.
Violet was so awesome throughout this series, I loved her spunk and her "grab the bull by its horns" attitude. Her perseverance is something I admire in her.
Lilly was one of my favourite characters in this book, she was just so funny and what the book needed to balance themselves out. I want her as a friend.
The author did a great job of keeping humor in the book, even in the dark times. Which was nice, it didn't make the book seem so heavy, even in those heavy parts. Everything that happened in the book felt right, even when it felt wrong. 💁🏻‍♀️ The book was everything it needed to be.

I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who loves fantasy and romance.

You must read this series!

I devoured this entire series! I didn't even stop to leave reviews until I read every line of Zagan and Violet's story. This story is unique, it is beautiful, sad, bittersweet love story filled with so many twists and turns. I loved the main characters as well as the side characters. Gotta say Maxim grew in my heart and usually only the H gets that honor but he really slunk his way in. I sincerely hope he gets his own book. I would love to read more of the Fatals and the Dragons as well. There is so much left untold. I really hope that sometime in the future we get the privilege of hearing their endings. Also where the heck is Killian?! He just disappeared. Also I really need Elijah to be happy......and G! Can we have his story too? Okay I realize now I'm asking for a lot but I swear it would be a serious one click for me. If you love PNR you have to read this series!

Each of these books got better and better

Often times, you find that by the third or fourth installment in a series, you get bored, or they aren't as good as the first two, and it's painful to finish the series.
That was NOT the case in this series!
It gripped my attention until the very last page.
Beautiful writing, and I especially loved how all of the characters grew as the story progressed. The characters you read in book one, each changed and transformed through all the trials they faced throughout this story.
I loved that the romance aspect was not an insta love, even though it was indeed a fated love.
It was deep and painful but also beautiful. I would re read this series in a heartbeat! Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a good escape.

MUST READ!!!

I found this author and this series in a casual perusal for books. I waited to leave a review until I read all 4 books in the series because it was so good. This was very well written with interesting characters, mystery and intrigue. Such a neat twist on good vs. Evil, dark vs. Light. Really enjoyed and recommended if you enjoy supernatural romance mystery.😀

An amazing series and one that I will most likely read again. My heart was broken at times by Zagan......what a tortured soul he was! My only very small gripe is that I would have liked to have read more about what he was put through as a child. The characters were all great and I would love to see Maxim get a book of his own!

Perfect closing to the series

I have enjoyed every book, and the close to this series was no exception. T.M. Hart is an amazing storyteller and I will miss Zagan, Violet and maxim. All the mysteries and secrets came together and made sense. We finally get to know who the old crone in! I didn’t see it coming. Enjoy!

It’s was...okay to read once.

The story had so much potential but it feels like the whole series was written on the fly without any direction except as it was written yet the author didn’t go back and edit the previous storyline.

It I did finish the series but I’ll not read it again.

The last 2 books in this series were such a disappointment I wish I hadn’t started this series at all.
1. Violet goes down to Zagan’s dark, dilapidated wing of the house
2. He carries her back
3. She runs (usually toward some danger)
4. He arrives in a storm of shadows to rescue her
5. REPEAT

FOR HUNDREDS OF PAGES.

No. Just, no.

Decent ending but still confusing

Things were answered, prophecies came to fruition, but there are still unanswered questions. I’m still not entirely sure how everything unfolded as it did. Zagan, the destruction of Aleece, Maxim........ I just don’t know.

Not a 5 star book, but readable

Author showed grit and guys with heroine, but felt she rushed through the process. Great for YA, but really wasn't worth all the 5 stars she received. Okay read.
